Cruel-cruel.  What he had done was a mistake. A mistake that nearly tortured him to insanity, I'd say. How could someone bear so much and and remain completely sound of mind? He became the instrument of his own torture. He existed in a living hell. Is it ethical to ask him to go back to hell? Can he ever really be free from self blame for the death of Lily? I think not. I believe every person he was forced to torture or abuse as a spy was like Doloris Umbridge's pen. Each injury he gave was inflicted back on himself. Why is Harry's life worth more than Severus'. He will wish he never found out these things. No matter how much Hermione loves him, he won't be less guilty. I'm sure he won't allow her to obliviate him. They should stop. 

I know the wizarding world owes Harry a lot, but I don't think his life is more important than Severus'. I also think Severus Snape sacraficed and suffered more for the wizarding world than Harry did.  Harry may not be suffering at all right now. If he is not aware of himself he doesn't know the difference. If he knew what Severus was going to have to go through to heal him and they asked him if he wanted Severus to do it anyway, I think he would say Severus deserves to be happy. I don't think Harry would ask Raven to sacrifice his life for Harry's again. I'm not sure it's the best thing for Raven to get his memories back. There was a lot of self loathing in that life. Can't they just let him be happy? He deserves it. The real reason everyone wants Harry healed is for themselves. They miss Harry. They want Harry. And, they are willing once again, to sacrifice Severus Snape so that they can have Harry back and so that they themselves can be happy no matter what it costs Severus. That's my opinion, in any case.

Well, finally a story where Albus appologizes to Severus. Maybe he can help him understand why he had to do the things he had to do to stay close to Voldemort and ease his mind that he isn't an evil man and he would not have chosen to do those things for enjoyment.  Poor Minerva. Always playing second fiddle. I can't imagine what Molly will do. I don't think I want to be there. I'm a coward in my leisure time. Real life wears me down. I can't believe they have only been at Spinner's End for a week. It seems longer, in a good way.

I never thought they would get around to this! What a relief!  I'm glad Hermione let go of her fear. I sincerely hope she never has a reason to regret giving her heart. As things are going, I feel confident they will be OK. I haven't skipped to the end yet. I haven't felt like I've needed to. On we go!

Ok, Hermione. I know you should be cautious but you may as well fall in love. He's falling in love with you and I'm a light weight. Live it up while you can. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Have Raven put this day in a pensive or something and show it to him if he doesn't remember. Ask him what things he wants Snape to remember if he forgets he's Raven. I'll bet 1000 galleons it will be that he loves you. You're smart enough to figure out a way for him to see himself like he is.  When he see's his own expressions, he'll know exactly what he was thinking about.  It will wake him up and bring him back around.

Good for Hermione for being honest! She saved Raven and herself a lot of insecurity and stress. I suppose she is right about his being in danger. The old Snape knows dark magic and those who use it. He will know who to be wary of and how to protect himself. He also has a lot to offer the wizarding world. He could find a lot of satisfaction showing others he was not Snape the git, not really. He could find friendship where he hadn't allowed himself to before. Redemption is pretty much as awsome as new birth.  Maybe redemption will be the better path. We'll have to see. ...Don't make me skip to the end to make sure Severus and Hermione end up together. Hmmmmm. Maybe I'd better. I do better when I'm prepared. I never see a movie until others tell me what bad things are going to happen so I won't be traumatized a the end. I could curse the person who made Cold Mountain. If I'd been warned I wouldn't have cried like a baby for hours. I hate that!!!!  The Harry Potter movies were better for me because I knew what to expect from the books. I can't even imagine Doby's death only finding out about it for the first time in 3-D at the IMAX. It would not have been a pretty sight or condusive to others around me hearing the movie while i bawled.

I'm really happy for Hermione and Severus. I have a feeling that even if he returns to himself he will never be the guy he was before.  Being a normally polite person and a gentleman feels much better, I'm sure. Hermione is young and should be cautious, but this might be the chance of a lifetime if she doesn't fight it.  She could find her soul mate. Harry has the Weasely's if he is able to be healed. Hermione and Severus could be a family. They both really need one no matter what happens to poor Harry. The way Severus' body remembers how to prepare potions ingredients makes me think he will be able to at least make a new life as a wizard even if he never remembers the wizard he was. This wizard called Raven, has the potential to be much happier than Severus Snape would have. If he saw his old self in a pensive, I don't think he would like what he saw. It might be better if he regains he powers and Hermione teaches hime to live in the wizarding world with this new outlook on life and none of the baggage, pain and regrets that came with the old life clouding his thinking and emotions.  He could be born again into another life that is better this time.old Snape New happy Snape.

I guess those feelings for Snape would be pretty scary, but I think when he remembers himself, he'll remember Hermione helped him.

I hope Snape is able to find some comfort. I bet Hermione wishes she knew where her beaded purse with the extention charm is. It had ditiny and other healing potions. I wonder if the is a fidelious charm on Snapes house and if they will be able to find it. Time for sleep wish I could stay up and read more but it's 11 pm and I must be up at 5:30 am.

Good for Hermione. I'm glad she has a cause. Poor Snape. He deserves so much more.

How wonderful, for the two of them to leave memories for Severus and to watch memories from Severus.  Grendel -- at least Severus had a friend and companion!  I'm feeling very hopeful for them now.  Thanks for updating!

really like Seveus' cave and Grendel is adorable. I agree, Grendel bowing to let Dobby pet him was funny! I could see it even !

So clever of Snape to leave himself a hidey hole like that. Im glad it could be used by Raven and Hermione on the eve of what feels like a battle!

What a great cave and pet!  This was a sweet chapter with them spending their last few moments (possibly) together.  Now I'm worried about them being killed or something.  Hopefully, this is the cave, though.  They need to find it soon.

Grendel is adorable, and I'm so glad that he is so loyal to Raven.  And it appears that he has been guarding Severus' treasure... Raven/Severus is a very rich wizard!It's wonderful that they found all the important things that Severus had prepared for them.  The book of spells is a powerful weapon in their quest to recover Severus' memories, but I think that more important that the book were the memories Severus left.  In viewing them Raven was able to hear from his own mouth that Severus was not a bad man.  How wonderful for him to know that the man he was had many good qualities.I like this chapter very much!Beth

Seeing Severus in the memories was fantastic.  The concern for Grendel and for Harry's friends really seemed to bolster the hopes that Raven truly is a part of Severus.  Just one that out of necessity has been hidden from view.There seems to be a lot more to Severus than meets the eye.  (Severus must have either been insane or really into Xtreme Gaming if he played 'Catch Me If You Can' with Grendel - Yikes!!!) Raven and Hermione removing a few of their memories for Severus to view had to be really rough on both of them.  Poor things!!!  I have my fingers quadruple crossed for them.  Fantastic chapter.  :D
