Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.
Reviews for Raven
You have managed to express so much in just one chapter and put into words all that so many of us feel about the high price Severus paid in his role against Voldermort.
I wonder how long it will be before Severus/Raven can accept that how he is now is the real him and that before he simply had a part to play and couldn't afford to let the real him show?
I look forward to more, as always :-)

It may take some time. There is still so much they have t o through to even get to that place where thye will have choices. I dont want to make the ending short. Thanks glad you like it so much.
Thank you so much for another wonderful update!

I want to hug him. I hope everything can work out.

I know what you mean. I love him too.
I hope it works out too. :)
This chapter has it all! Angst and hope. We have seen how devastating it was for Raven to see his memories of being punished by Voldemort, the evil spell the Dark Lord had cast on him should he ever betray him, and the blood oath that the serpentine wizard employed to secure his obedience to return with Harry... and that horrid wizard had expected Raven to join him in eating Harry's heart! Ugh!!!Inside the book they found it was filled with Severus' memories, a written journal, and the moss sample. We know what the memories contained, and I now find myself wondering just what the journals contained. It's good that they have that bit of moss... perhaps they will be able to learn more about where Voldemort's lair is to be found. My heart broke for Severus when he found saw what kind of madman he had pledged himself to serve when he was such a young man. Hearing what Hermione had to tell him about his past had been gut wrenching to all, but it nearly crushed Raven.I am so glad that Raven and Hermione stayed together in her room the night before to "make some new" memories for themselves. Considering what kind of day he experienced, I'm glad that he had the "new memories" to remind him that whatever kind of man he had been, however much he might have lived without love in his life before, he knew that Hermione loved him without reservation. I think that would have been an important thing for Raven, something to act as both shield and armor. What will Albus tell him in answer to his question–if he had been so strong, “Why am I so unable to control or accept what I was?" And I wonder what Minerva will have to say to Albus about how he used the Potions master.Fabulous chapter, Jeannie! Here is a well deserved bouquet for you. Beth

My goodness you really think things out. Thanks so much for all your wonderful thoughts and analysis of my story. I really am enjoying the work and I hope I can continue to give you qulaity chapters. Its getting harder I think now, I keep reworking. I used to just write and let it flow out.
Thanks so much
ANd now Raven has seen Severus, himslef as a Death Eater and we know the terrible price he'd paid. All that welath in the cave. hmmm, If Raven gets to the does Severus/Raven get to keep it?
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I haven't decided that. Give me your thooughts when you get to a later chapter. What should he do with it? I have an idea :)
Thanks,
Well written chapter. There is a lot of emotion expressed and we also are getting a clearer view of what the characters are feeling.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks so much, Glad you liked it.
That was hard for him to hear. :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes it was, thanks for the review
oh gosh, all the angst! Poor Raven/Severus....
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry you found it depresing. Sverus had a hard life or he wouldn't have been who he was. Bitter, angry and withdrawn.
Another great chapter, and I'm very interested to see just what memories Severus left for his future self to help him. I would think he would have included the memory of what the cave looked like, so that he would be more likely to recognize it when/if he managed to find it again in the future. Perhaps also memories of other important people to contact, people who might have some missing puzzle pieces but don't necessarily realize it.Again, I'm so glad that they finally went to Albus and Minerva, and I'm looking forward to their trip to the Carpathians!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I enjoyed their visit with Minerva and Albus too. Yes, I think future hcapters will adress your concerns. I'm working on 23 and trying to write another important part becasue my mind started to write it before I got here and I had to put them on paper. LOL
Wow you did it again.Great chappy can't wait for more
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)

It always makes my day to see that you have updated again; either Raven or your other story. I love the tone of this story and can't wait for more.

Thank you so much. I sent the rest of FDLA to the Beta tonight. I'm working on Raven.
I'm so glad that you have portrayed Minerva's warm feelings towards Severus in detail; he deserves to have a caring older woman... What a wonderful chapter! *****
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I have always thought they would have been friends.
:)
I hope they can control when his memory all returns. Its going to be a hellva shock!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes I think it will more for Hermione than him as he expected to come back, planned for it.
There is going to be hell to pay from Molly & Ginny when they find out she just ran off...journey???
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Not so sure I deal with them much in this story. But you can make a good scene up in your head to fill in :)
Oh, Oh what can i say? I couldn't put this story down from the moment i picked it up. I've been reading it all day. I love the way you portrayed Raven, and then Snape, and wove God in to the story, and how you clearly showed the transforming power of love. This has to be one of the best reads I've read in a long time.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you found Raven. I loved writing that story. I'm so glad you enjoyed the two halves of who Snape became. I'm glad you like the God woven into the story, I'm afraid the next ones not the same sort of story...sorry.Raven is still my favorite fic that I have written. I love your Name :) Thank so much for your comments and review.
oh awesome :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
thanks so much, thats my favorite word :)
I said it before and I'll say it again. I like Raven. The way he is showing trust in Hermione would be so out of character for Severus, and yet you have provided a unique way of making it work. Excellent story.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much.
I have the feeling that the entries in the journal were simple nad direct so that if found by the wrong person, nothing could be gained. Too bad it doesn't paint Raven a good pic of himself. The idea with the beads is a clever one.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Good analysis :)
Glad you liked the ebads. there are more stories to be told.
Oh wow!Isn't his Dad a dick? I love how Hermione and Raven are growing closer.I can't wait to see where you take this. I check everyday to see if you have updated.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL, glad you are enjoying the story. I upload a new chapter asap after they Validate one, but it takes about 4-5 days or a week to get a new one up.
Thank you so much for the review.
Hey, just wanted you to know that I've only just found this story and wish that I'd read it before now! I'm really enjoying it, especially seeing the "kinder, gentler" version of himself that he's becoming. I look forward to when he gets his memories back, and seeing if the person he wants to be now is what he's always wanted to be but just never had the opportunity while he was a spy. Perhaps those things Raven is afraid of will never happen after all.Like the idea of the "touch" spells, and of Severus making what backup plans he could for the possibility of memory loss. Can't wait to see where you continue to go with this!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much. I hope you continue to enjoy the story. I get the new chapters up as fast as is possible.
I have another story going up too, Its called From Death to Life Again.
Oh, sad. But I really like your view on his past.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I think Severus past would have been a difficult one.
very clever spell to attach to the beads! I'm glad Hermione didn't read the book list of bad things done by Snape, but I can see that it is helping him to prepare for what he will remember later. thank you for the new chapter!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Your very welcome. I'm glad yoou continue to come back to read more. I very much appreciate that.
