Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

You do do happy endings right? Although, I actually prefer stories where it takes a while to bring characters together. Change tends to happen slowly, so I kind of like that you are not having Snape suddenly accept the relationship. Are you going to have Hermione be okay right off the bat, or will she hit a rough patch before picking up her life? She was pretty fragile before all of this.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
If you check out my finished work From Death to Life Again, you'll get an answer two your question :)No Snape can not change until he's willing to accept who raven was. Let us only hope he will eventually.
Hermione has some support that helps her understand what to do next. :)
Thanks so much for your review.
Oooh... he's such a coward!I know... 'don't call me coward...' blah blah blah... but seriously! Running away from Hermione! lolSo loving this still, can't wait for the next chapter.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL you got that right. He's going to have hard time facing what his life was and if he wants it back. Severus is not willing to be hurt anymore and that make Hermione getting closer to him really difficult.
Thanks so much :)
Oh how sad! I hope Severus comes to his senses soon!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Give him some time he's got a lot to deal with :) Hang in there.
Wonderfully written conflicted Snape! Kind of rude exit, but given its Snape---one couldn't expect much better. The lines about love hurting him, etc. are gut-wrenching--at least he's feeling something.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much, thats exactly the effect I wanted this chapter to have. Change will come only if he can accept it.
What a hard head! Poor Hermione, perhaps Minerva will be of help...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Well I think it's going to be tough for awhile. Raven's burried pretty deep and Severus is fighting change.
He left her! Oh, Brother! Is she okay? I'm surprised she hasn't collapsed before this, the way she is running herself ragged. She's got to be exhausted.I'm glad that Severus is finding it difficult to be around Hermione. Maybe it means that Raven is getting through to him. Little by little, bit by bit, Raven's feelings are surfacing; and Hermione is right, those feelings are scaring the daylights out of Severus. Great chapter. I'm so happy the next installment is in the queue!!! :D
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, still a few more rough episdoes to go through. Severus is a stubborn man. Your right Raven's feeling scare him a lot. He has no references to understand love. I'm so glad you liked it. Yes the next ones up. I'm trying to work out a future chapter situation and its hard work and a mess right now LOL, ch 35-37 are proving very difficult. LOL I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks so much.
Severus is really stubborn. I hope he 'll admit his feeling soon. Thank you for writting this storie
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, hes very stubborn, can you expect anything else from him. He's got a lot to work through and accept. I'm so glad you like it thanks for the review.
Well, now we wait for Severus to stop hurting himself. You're doing a marvelous job capturing Severus' thoughts and feelings. Despite the fact that I just want him to give in, that's really not him. So, even though I'd love for him to pull Hermione to him, it's just not the right time. And he really needs to sink into himself and feel what it's like without her, whether he remembers her or not. Raven certainly does, and he's definitely trying to show Severus what he's missing.I really loved what Raven wrote to him, especially about if he chose to abandon Hermione. It seems that Raven understood Severus pretty well, despite the fact that he hadn't met him in person.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much, You have the right way of looking at this story, some readers are so worried or mad at Severus. He's got to have time to learn about the changes in himself. I'm so glad I have captured the real Snape for you. I love an in love Snape myself but know thats not always realistic. He's got to hurt before he can realize what he's missing. Your right Raven's not a part of him and it will take some time :)
Thank you so much for your compliments :) I'm getting a bunch of great reviews from everyone.
wow, heartbreaking
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, sorry. Thats who Severus is and he will have to deal with all the chnages just to himself and his world.
Thanks.
Well done but I do wish your chapters were longer. I find Severus' reactions to be completely normal and understandable. If I understand correctly, the last time he knew Hermione it was as a former student he'd never been kind to and who thought him a murderer. Waking up to find himself owing her a life debt and hearing she'd fallen deeply in love with his "other" self can only be shocking and terrifying for him. Severus should certainly be more grateful to Hermione but he's not about to suddenly love her - especially not without Raven's memories. I find this completely believable and true to my version of Severus Snape. Do I wish Severus would really listen to Hermione and Raven? Yes I do. But he has to come that conclusion in hs own way. And even if he does, there another long road ahead for him on the path to a meaningful relationship. At least that's the way I see it!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry a habit of mine to make them 4-5 pages long. It's a lot ahrder to beta a llong chapter. Yeah I didn't want Snape to suddenly be a new loving person. he has to find his way through all the new feelings inside him. Give him time he's got a lot to take in :)
Thanks so much for your review.
OH MY GOODNESS...PLEASE, please let Severus have feelings for her...I loved this chapter, Raven is slowly showing Severus that he can have feelings for Hermione, Oh I'm in tears..I'm thinking Severus is afraid he will be like his father.. and be hateful and abusive to Hermione..I do hope he will see some of the scenes from the necklace, times he and his mother were happy...WELL DONE! I am loving this story and I hope that Severus and Hermione will be together by the end...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, he has a lot to sort out, from inside himself to his ouside world. A lot has changed. Hang in there. We have to give Severus time to assimilate all the changes.
Thank you glad you like it even if it was a hard chapter to read.
Response from Becky (Reviewer)
I'm rooting for Hermione and the love she has for him..I know that somewhere inside Severus, that Raven will let him know that feelings are a good thing..How are you? hope to chat soon!!
this was great. can't wait for the next one. it is getting very emptional now.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, it is. Severus can't handle all the stuff he's learned and he's trying to hide. Hermione's just as determned not to let him for long.
Thanks so much.
I absolutely have no room for Severus issues, I most sincerely think Hermione should realise that Raven is gone, replaced with a bat who have no room for feelings, lest at least for her. I know I am grumpy, but I am rather annoyed with Severus and his petty issues. Hermione deserves far better than that grumpy old sod. When she returns to Hogwarts, she should stay there, she has done enough begging and understanding, if there shall be any hope for her with a Severus who can function as a man worthy of loving, Severus have to change himself, she can't save him. She has told him the truth, if he wants to ignore it, she will be better off without him.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Don't give up so soon on him. He's has a lot to learn about himself. What Raven was is still inside him. And I don't think you can keep a good man down for long or at least caged. Assimilation is necessary but not exactly easy or painless.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
I can feel Hermione's pain. That is such a difficult thing to read, the way Severus is treating her.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry, but that is who Severus has known himself to be, he does not realise as yet he has another side of himself that will fight to be heard and eventually seen in bits and peices. Hermione has a bit of a hard time yet to go through, but she is stubborn :)
At least Grendel is happy to have SEverus back. That makes one. All grumbling aside I do see signs of his thawing in this chapter. It gives me hope!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL you really were rooting for Raven huh? Yes. Raven's there somewhere.
Thanks so much glad you like it.
First of all, THANK YOU for bringing our Severus back. Raven was sweet and fun but I'm delighted to have Snape's snark and many, MANY faults back. And bravo for pulling no punches on giving Hermione the full Snape. And for giving us a ray of hope at the end of this chapter. This story remains brilliant. I'm sure there's a long way to go before all is well. I'm hanging on every word.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much, I'm trying hard to keep who Severus was there but gradually bring in qualities of Raven. I really appreciate your words. This was a much needed boost for me.
"I'm going to feed Grendel"??? What a transparent excuse to get away that is! Sev ought to be embarrassed for that one, they'll take away his Slytherin card! Still, it's interesting how the tactile memories are the ones getting through the most often. Things feel familiar but he doesn't know why.I'm glad that Severus is at least starting to talk out a little of what went on beforehand with Hermione. I'm sure he's no closer to understanding it or believing it, but at least he's beginning to talk to her. What will he decide to do about the journal Raven left for him? On the one hand, reading it will give him some insight into the missing block of time he has. On the other, Severus might be afraid that if he does start to remember things they won't be genuine memories. They'll be colored by what he's read in the journal and he'll read things into them that never actually happened. I'm not saying that's what would happen, but he might be reluctant to take a memory that surfaced later at face value if it seemed to match "too much" with a journal entry. A possible way to get around this would be to let a memory surface and then get Hermione to find a corresponding entry in the journal that he could read after the fact. Hmm.Love reading this, and can't wait until the next chapter!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yep, it was pretty transparents becasue no one feeds Grendel he gets his own food. Severus has a lot to deal with. He has very little confidence in himself and can't fathom a beautiful young woman havng love part of him. You got some good points there. I am struggling with just that idea, if he remembers with out reading then what was the point of Raven's labors. If he reads it first, well it does not mean it will bring back his memories. Thanks so much for your great reviews :)
Wow--Severus is back, and with a vengeance! However, it's fun watching him attempt to figure out just what went on during his time of memory loss. With so many of the fan stories you're always reading about Hermione assuming that Severus hates her and how could he possibly see her as anything different, but I loved how you turned it on its ear with Sev's thought: "He couldn’t fathom how she had come to be the person who had helped restore him. He thought the girl and her friends hated him." Too cool! Also liked how his unconscious memory is disturbing him... knowing the feel of Hermione's embrace, the thought of his mother fresh in his mind though he hadn't dwelt on her in years, etc. I'm sorry that Raven is virtually submerged at the moment, but I'm looking forward to seeing him peek out more and more hopefully. I'm also looking forward to Sev's consternation when this happens. Am I mean? I can't help it, I think it'll be fun!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much you got this chapter as it was meant to be gotten and thats a huge compliment. Thanks so much. Yes Ravens pretty much submerged but he's not gone :)
From the hints you wrote in, I could tell that Severus was beginning his regression during "date night". I enjoyed where you wrote, "He felt younger than he had in years, and he wanted what any young man might want after a night spent dancing. Part of him frowned at his thoughts. He loved Hermione. He loved her mind and her soul, and yet his only thoughts were for her body." And later, "As Hermione finally fell asleep, Raven grinned like a teenager." It was painful to read his decline, and especially when it suddenly hit Hermione like a slap in the face. But it will hopefully allow her to begin pulling back a little emotionally, to prepare for what may happen once the potion is ready.I am so hyped up for the reveal! I gotta run to the next chapter and see what happens!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I'm so glad that you liked that and you were able to realize he was starting to lose it. Maybe I should have made that part of the story longer and nore detailed. What was in my imagination would have been really painfull I guess I didnt want to go there. Hope you were okay with the next one now I will go see yoour reaction :)
I hope he remembers soon.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Its gona take some time unfortunately. Hang in there :)
yes, the dawn is slowly breaking. i was prepared for this outcome, too, but i also didn't realize how painful it would be. superb update. thanks so much
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Severus is a tough cookie. I don't think it's going to be a quick chnage.
Thank you, hang in there :)

I read this straight through and was devestated that there wasn't more written. Though I'm sure I'll be equally sad when you are finished.
I look forward to more.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Well you'll be happy to know that as soon as a chapter is validated I post the next one into the queue. This is a work in progress but I am working steadily on it. It will not be abandon. Have you read my "From Death to Life again". It is a finished work.
Thanks so much for reading and letting me know what you think.
Well, at least he let her touch him, some progress is being made. I'm betting she will grow on him, like a fungus since he is a potion master.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL thats funny, yes I think she will get under his skin even if he is resisting. Thanks so much.
