Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

"I don't want to go alone." That was so lovely. He is so unlike the Snape we know. I can see why he would want not to be his "old self" again!Livvy

Than you so much for reading the story and enjoying it :)
Finding these memories left to him by his mother is such a wonderful thing. Now he knows she loved him. Even if his father was a total bastard to him, his mother loved him with all her heart. Thank goodness for this – it's about time Raven found out something good about himself. With each passing day, circumstances are bringing Hermione and Raven closer. Closer and mind and in spirit. It's is wonderful to see their caring for each other growing.Very neat chapter!Beth

Thanks Beth, I love Your reviews. You pput such thought into them. Not all the memories will be easy but he will know that his mother did love him.

Another truly lovely chapter.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much,
What a lovely chapter! *****, as it usually is.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you thats very kind of you.
Very moving. Raven's thoughts raise an enticing path for his new life. However, will he be able to lead his desired simple, peaceful life with Hermione?
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thats the huge question. He does eventually need to reconect to his old life. But he will have choices even then, we can only hope his choices make us all happy it the end. :)
i can't wait to read the next chapter!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
thanks you, hope it will be up in a few days.
ahhh, how lovely - they're growing closer!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
:) glad you enjoyed that, thanks
I don't blame him - the cabin sounds ideal! Nice job - thanks for your work!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Cabin? Don't remember a Cabin. I'll have to go look. Thanks so much.
Response from mom7knox (Reviewer)
he he - this is what happens when I don't wait for nap time for kidlings to read - clearing, I meant clearing :-)
She finally addressed her grief. I'm glad Raven was there for her while she did.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, he can be a great comfort can't he. One should be so lucky, sigh.
In this chapter Raven learned things about himself both good and bad. I wish he had the knowledge to realize all the good he had done when he had made the decision to work for the Light. Reading from Snape's journal, all he would have learned was the bad things he'd done and that he had felt relief when Dumbledore had accepted him back.Hermione's grief had been bound to come to the surface one day, and seeing all the familiar placed of her childhood had breached the dam she had put in place to contain her emotions. I'm glad that Raven was there to comfort her. I don't know what will have to happen for him to consider going to Hogwarts to see if he can talk to Albus' portrait, but if that were possible, it may give them the help they need to brew a memory restore potion to help him.Great chapter!Beth

I'm really glad you are enjoying this story so much. Your thoughts are well thought out and... well you must be reading my mind. Next chapter will be up soon. I've started to write ch: 20 now. :) Still a lot more to tell.

I love Raven, it is obvious you put a lot of thought into his character. It was also nice to see that he wishes to be neither Raven nor Snape. I look forward to seeing how he will develop.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I love him too, he kind of writes himself. I can't imagine not having him around forever :) You don't think he's too weak of a character? I want the child/man that's Raven to grow up as well. Find his own strengths.
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
No, I don't think he is too weak. He strikes me as a man searching for his identity; although Hermione's is the more strongly written of the two I still think Raven is developing nicely.
Although the forest brought back memories, it probably did her a lot of good to let it all out. :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I think so, thanks :)
Holy Moly!! You made me cry...I can't wait untill the next chappy. this one seemed to take so long.I know how Hermione feels. My Mom passed away 8 years ago and it took me forever to let it out.Raven is starting to grow as a person with depth.I can't wait to see how you tie this all together.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry, I lost my mom a few days after 911. I know how you feel. It didn't hit me till New Years eve. I'm with you the ends not written. So I can't wait to see how I tie it all together too LOL. I really appreciate your thoughts.
This chapter is so nice. I like your story very much. Keep going.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
You'll be happy to know I'm working on ch 20. Tryig to stay way ahead of the posting. I'm glad you are enjoying the story.
Thanks! *sighs* My reading is definitely too quick... Ah... Looking forward to next chappies!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry they are short. I had never psoted one before and don;t know what the standard chapter size is. I'm making them about 4 pages each. Glad you like the story.
Response from I_Am (Reviewer)
Oh, no! Don't apologize, please. There are many people that are very happy that you share your stories with us, and it is just the policy of the site that drives me crazy!
I really like the fact that they can find such comfort with each other. This continues to be such a sweet, refreshing story. I just hope nothing's going to happen soon to put the damper on things! :-)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I hope to continue to build their characters and relationship. Thank you so much. Relax :)
Such a lovely picture. And I am not even a fan of SS/HG!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank YOU!! Maybe I can make one of you yet LOL.
I am also a little afraid that we will lose Raven, I like him. But as you said to another reviewer, I will sit back and relax./M
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Don't streess I'm glad you will continue to read. Thanks so much
Raven is very sweet... i like him... I can't wait to read the next chapter. Hope they find the memory activator!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I like him very much too. working on Ch 19 now :) we have a ways to go.
I hope that they find something that helps. I'm really surprised, disgruntled a bit about Hermione insisting, and Raven for that matter, that Raven will be 'lost' once Severus 'returns'. That just seems off to me. Why wouldn't Hermione, who has medically knowledgable parents know about amensia? And if she knows about Amnesia, wouldn't se see this as a case of simple memory loss. Or are you setting us up for a transferance of personalities? It would seem that once Raven 'remembers' everything, past and presant would combine - he would be flooded with the knowledge of who he was, what he was and yet still rememeber what happened to him as Raven. There might be a void, a black spot of what happened between the shack and when he woke up in his box - but that would be normal and logical. So, their growing feeligns for each other - I can understand her fear - in that I can see where when he 'awakens his memories,' when his past comes backto him - Severus Raven Snape might turn from her as a redicilous girl who helped him come back to himslef. Thus developing a reawakening of why he and she have these feeligns that don't jive with the person he was, or is now, kind of thing. But the Raven part of his personality, the time he lived as Raven would still be a part of who he becomes. Neither would be lost - only a melding of who he is and a deep inner search of who Severus Rave Snape wants to be.Unless, Hermione knows something and we are left in the dark. IF she knows that his memory loss from Nagini's bit would divide him magically, like two Snape's in a Time-Turner fic - once the two Snapes collide, combine, meet - a effect happens - one is consumed by the other, one absorbs the other and the second on ceases to exhist?Very curious. But I wonder, will they give into this attraction before Raven discovers Severus Snape and merges with him?
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Your worrying too much, just sit back and enjoy. It is a very complicated thing. If Snape remembers he's gona pull back a bit, he built that tight shell around himself for many years. It's gona be up to those around him and Raven with-in to convince him he's worth being loved.
Thank so much for alll yoour care and help. I really really appreciate your thoughts.
