Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.
Reviews for Raven
That was great. he finally gave in and she said the wrong name. at least he didn't leave before he listened(easdropped) how she left about him. Hermione needs to give him the book, since he forgot it when he left the first time and she has it. she should take it and leave it for him without his knowing and he finds it after she leaves for the night.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yeah it shocked me too LOL. But it was too good to take back out. I know everyone wants him to read the book, but he has to be at a point in his life when he will be receptive to whats in there and thats not right now :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
sorry that got away from me before i finished :)Thank you so much for your review. There is more coming very soon. Im writing ch 47 so there is a lot to look forward too. :)
Splendid work, Jeannie!!!!! This chapter is very well written, and I could feel the emotional turmoil that overtook both Hermione and Severus.I hope the night he spent in his lair will have given him enough thinking time to remember the journal and the vial of memories Raven left for him. The two of them will be working closely for the next three weeks, and during that time I hope Severus will muster the courage to read and relive the time that he spent with Hermione as Raven. I don't think he will ever be happy without her in his life. That searing kiss they shared in his office and the way it made him feel has to have made a big impression on him and the way he sees things.Fabulous chapter, dear! Hugs, Beth

Thank you, you are such a dear to write such great reviews. It was a bit of a hard ending but your right he feels a lot and is just afraid of those feelings.
The kiss was steamy and will leave him wanting much more :)
Thanks Beth,
Jeannie
This chapter was very powerful. Who knows what one is capable of until one is faced with a situation. I also think the evil from the area was influencing her. Raven, has a great deal of experience dealing with the Dark Arts, even if it was as Severus Snape. Thank goodness for Dobby and friends.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, you will see these people again down the road. I'm glad you like the chapter. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me.
Rather grim chapter, lets hope Severus finds his way.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
He will, Out of pain can come joy :)
Well, at least Raven hasn't totally disappeared. Severus will eventually be forced to coexist with him.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Good observation :) It a hard road to go. I'm so far along it's gets ahrd to remember where my readers are. I'm working on ch 47. I have enjoyed writing this and recieve so many wonderful comments. Thanks so much
I have been away for a while and had some catching up to do. And it was fun to read such a long stretch of chapters all at once.I love angsty stories and this one is overflowing with angst now.Great job.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes it is full of angst to this point. I'm glad you are enjoying it, thanks so much.
When she called out Raven instead of Severus, I thought that might be it for them. I'm glad you had him think about about what Raven meant to her and realize how much he wanted to remmeber. That was lovely ending to that chapter. (So lovely in fact, I went back and restarted the story.)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
How kind, thank you so much. I'm so glad you thought it good enough to re- read. I'm working on ch 47 tonight a very special chapter. Quite possible the last one. :)
(This is for three first chapters)
An interesting beginning.
writing style is a bit choppy, some places your paragraphs are only one or two lines long. Sentences seem short. A combination of short and longer, more complicated, sentences give your writing a flow that readers appreaciate.
The choppiness is improving by chapter 3!
The end of chapter three is very touching.
“I only wanted the bottle. They din’t have to hurt me. I would have gone away.” His eyes suddenly blurred with tears. That moved me. There was a desperate honesty to it, illustrating how broken Snape is.
Honestly, though, the gruel made me laugh. I can’t think of any bar that would sell gruel (who would buy it?) Have you ever eaten it or seen it for sale? I would have written that even though it was late, she knew the soup kitchen (or homeless shelter)) would be open and they would give her some simple, nourishing food if she asked.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you for your comment's I'm glad you liked it and it touched you. My beta and another friend have been working on my sentances. I'm writing ch 46 and shes still talking about compound sentences. Been so long dont even remember the gruel. No I dont know what its like. Sorry it was unrealistic, Im an Californian not an Englishman.
This story really just gets better and better. I vocally cursed when she called out Raven's name. Good thing all the kiddie-poos were in bed or I'd have had some 'splainin' to do.
So glad he didn't go get drunk. Glad also he heard Hermione's tears. His reactions (positive) to her were quite a surprise. I was expecting him to push her away longer, but that Raven fellow keeps chipping away at his psyche. Good for him. I hope Severus can eventually remember everything.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL, yeah me too. Poor Hermione and poor Severus. Makes you want to fall on the floor and cry for them and pound your hand into the floor. Yep Raven's in there rooting for his lady love. But Raven is only feelings now and those are somthing Severus is scared to death of. Working on ch 46 getting near the end. I may have to dust them off and do some one shot's afterwards.
Thanks so much.
For a few brief, shining moments, Severus got to feel what Raven and Hermione had in the palm of his hand. I hope it was a big enough enticement for him. I'm really glad that he didn't revert back to his drinking. The potion for Harry is only a few weeks away. I hope that gives Severus enough time to crack open Raven's journal and read a few pages. Hermione still has the vial of memories for him to view if he's willing to see them. Great update! :D
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Hi Rosered, I was glad he decided not to go drink either. Never been around that myself. Yes, Severus did give in for one shinning moment. There is time for a lot to happen. I'm writing ch 46 now. Getting really close tot he end.
Thank you so much for all your comments.
The Snape facade is slipping away. :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yep it is little by little or is it Raven pushing to the surface.
Step One: Get him to sign the contract. Check! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yep,he's trapped now LOL
aww, poor things. It's so heart-breaking. I hope they find each other again soon. I'm loving this story.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes it is heartbreaking, Severus is a stubborn mule at times LOL Thanks so much.
Raven is in there somewhere... he just needs a little leeway to get back out! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes he does, but severus also has to accept who he was.
Hehe. She is getting to him... :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yep, The mans starved for love but hes running scared.
Now she has to start all over again! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
yep, hard times :(
Oh, he went and youthified on her! :0
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Hey sunny, missed your comment's glad your catching up here :)
Response from sunny33 (Reviewer)
Have been on holiday in US for 5 weeks, just got back Friday. My reading time has been severely impaired! :)
Oh, I feel for Hermione, because she doesn't know, but I'm glad that Severus is trying. And I'm sure it is harder than heck for him.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, its very hard for him. He's in a totally forgein world. He doesn't understand much of it and yet he wants what Raven had. Hermione promised Raven she would be there for him and I doubt she will ever go back on her word no mater how hard it gets.
Thanks so much for your thoughts.
I am so enthralled with this story. I am praying to Raven's God that Severus finds a way to come to peace with his past and his present. Perhaps he should read Raven's journal.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I think Raven's glad he has Gods support as well. Hang in there, its going to get better real soon :)
I just wanted to say that I believe this to honestly be one of the most clever and original story lines that I've read here. Very well done! I can't wait to see how this all turns out!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Wow I love your name. I'm so glad you like it. I try to be as original as one can get for a subject thats probably got thousabds of stories. Have you read From Death to life Again, my other story. I've been writing ch 46 all day. I am getting close to the end now. But its such fun to write.
Thanks so much for your comments.
goodness! two steps forward one step back! what a stubborn man! great update. thanks muchly
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yep Severus is ascared and doing a lot of back peddling. Hang in there it's gpna get better soon. Thanks :)
Harry lying there incapacitated is a horrible thought. Harry lying there day after day without the comfort of Ginny's voice or warmth is devastating. I'm glad she is listening to Hermione on that subject.Speaking of Hermione, Severus needs to seriously stop being an ass and cut her a break. It's the least he could do. Thank goodness she told him up front about being added to the staff. Can you imagine the fallout if he learned it later on or from somebody else? She's a lovely woman who did her best to help him when he needed it the most, but she's only human. If he continues this behavior of walking away from her and running into the shadows, he's going to cause her to lose hope. I'm glad that Minerva straightened him out about the reason why Hermione and Raven worked so hard to bring his consciousness back to the foreground. I hope he takes Minerva's advice to heart. The world could be his oyster if he would only allow it. Great update! :D
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, glad you liked the chapter. I'm sorry it's been so hard and seems as if no lights in the future but it will get here, hang in. Severus isn't able to give up yet. He's still trying to protect his hard cased little heart, because the insides mush LOL.
Give him some more time, hes got a lot to adjust too.
Minerva's a tough cookie and she loves him and for now he needs a little tough love.
New chapter up with in the next week I hope.
Poor Severus. Always more pain and misery. I hope he gets some happy happy stuff soon.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Hange in there, Raven's working over time on him LOL
This just gets better and better. I am dying to see what happens next.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you so much, it's gona get going soon, I think you'll enjoy the next one :)
