Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.
Reviews for Raven
Glad Hermione told Severus about her teaching position during their first real conversation together since she accepted. That way, he can't think that she was keeping it from him and trying to trick him. Of course, she's still getting a bit of the cold shoulder from him, but that's more because he's running scared than anything else. He's all too willing to believe that anyone at all is more important to other people than he is, including his own amnesiac persona! It's very sad that he cannot believe that he is worthy of anyone's affection or even kind regard. Minerva just needs to keep on giving him some Tough Love, and keep her foot in the emotional door so Hermione has more of a chance to squeeze through! Can't wait to see how things continue to develop!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, he is running scared and he may for another chapter or two but it will get better. He is having some trouble thinking that Raven is himself. It's like a different man had the life he's always dreamed off. One he's been to afraid to even voice to himself.
Thanks so much for all your kind words and thoughts on the story.
And it continues. Thanks for another chapter!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, it does continue, I'll be starting ch 43 this week, Getting close to the end. Thank you !

Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, glad you liked it.
Squeeee!!!! You are genius! Your team is genius! I love this story. Hurray for a great chapter
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I'm sure my "team" of Alphas and my wonderful Beta thank you too. Each and every one of them has been a wonderful help to help me fine tune my ideas.
Stubborn as usual, Severus will torture himself with denial until the moment comes that he can no longer bare to be apart from Hermione, and from the things he told Minerva, I think that process has already begun. Each time he sees her, his heart is calling out to him to let down the barriers he has used to protect his heart for all these years.I can tell from the things he said while he and Hermione were talking about brewing the potion that he sees her differently than he did when he was her teacher. I hope Hermione will be able to hold her tongue until the time is right, but I do think that sooner or later she will have to spell out to him exactly how much she loves him and how he, as Raven, loved her.Another great chapter, Jeannie! Thank you.Beth
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Beth, You got it right, Severus is runnign scared and having a hard time controling "Raven's" desires and feelings. I think he does see Hermione as a collegue now. One he can respect and work with.
Yes the next chapter has it good part's and it's difficult parts but it's all a part of the growing up,Severus has to do.
Thank so much for your review.
It feels like things are starting to change for the better. The conversationi with Minerva was wonderful.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you. Yes, there was progression and a bit more to come...:)
Oh, I loved this chapter! Severus's conflicted emotions were described so wonderfully, and the angst between them both made me want to see her throw herself at him regardless!I am so excited about the next chapter I can't tell you!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I'm glad you saw so much in the chapter, I thoought people would be a bit dissapointed in the lttle progress it makes. But it's necessary. I think the next one will bring us a bit closer to a changing Severus.
I'm glad Minerva spoke so bluntly to him. Thanks for updating!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you! hope to have another up soon, I'm about to start Ch 43 now :)
I hope he starts to listen. She is quite willing to love Severus.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, she is. I think it will get through his thick hide eventually :)
Thanks for your comment.
Well, that's progress! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Yes, Severus is changing and letting things come more aturaly to him. Thank you.
Slowly he's getting it. I'm glad Minerva had a small part in it too. She definitely told him what for. I hope he truly listens. That actually went better than I had expected!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, I'm glad you like it, things are gona get going real soon, hang in there. More Hermione and Severus coming up :)
I don't know about forgiving Albus, but I do hope he forgives himself!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I hope so , :)
hope is glimmering thru the gloom! i like albus way better dead than i did alive. and how wise is minerva, just like her namesake. splendid update. thanks muchly
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
I'm so glad that you are enjoying the story. I'm not familiar with Minerva's name sake :( There is hope looming.
Response from kimjo2 (Reviewer)
She was the roman goddess of wisdom. the greeks called her athena. her symbol was the owl.
very good. I can't wait to read more.I thought the word "gawd" was a bit odd. Usually that is used to be a bit silly and this was not a silly moment. Not to mention that both Hermione and Raven had some Christian tendencies and most of the people who spell Gawd that way do it as an exaggeration that mocks Christians. I'm not Christian, I'm atheist and I do occaisionally spell it that way so it doesn't offend me , it just kind of doesn't fit the story. Anyway, it's a minor point that I happened to notice. I still LOVE LOVE LOVE the story.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Sorry, I spelled it that way becasue I didn't want to use God's name in vain. I guess I go back and forth on that. Wasn't aware it was naking fun of. Maybe I'll find a different word altogether next time. Thanks for poiting that out.
Glad you are enjoying the story.
Minerva is a wise wise woman!! And the MVP of the chapter! Woot!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks I think, not sure what MVP means but glad you liked it :)
Response from MollysSister (Reviewer)
Oh sorry about the lingo! MVP is a sports thing, its stands for Most Valuable Player.
Was that a swoon there at the end! Oh Hermione one baby step forward with Severus and then 3 back. Makes me wish for Raven again.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL, give them time they will start to move forward soon.
Thanks :)
Heartbreaking, and yet ended on a more hopeful note. Well done.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
It's gona get better soon, needed a few chapters to let Severus be Severus. Thank you so much.
Ah, even as a portrait Dumbledore just can't stop meddling! I'll bet the Hat really wanted him to go to Slytherin when he was Sorted, but he said no. I just hope that Sev doesn't feel like his future's been trapped all over again when he finds out about Hermione after having signed the contract. I have no doubt he will take it out on her, especially if part of him feels happy about the arrangement. Hermione will need to be tenacious and thick-skinned, but I'm confident she'll make it.Figures Severus would get a kick out of still being able to frighten the students! It will be fun to see if he regrets his decision of taking back Potions after seeing how far behind the classes are from where they should be, or if it will just reassure him that he made the right choice after all.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Oh Albus will forever meddle. His reaction was fun to right. LOL Remember he's also fighting with what he wants inside :).
There is some mention of his classes later but the main story doesn't much touch their teaching portion's of the day.
Yes, he did enjoy freaking the kids out. LOL
Thanks so much for the review
Albus has a lot of faith.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
And he's usualy right :)
Great chapter! Now we just need to get them back together!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thank you, I know chapters with out them arn't much fun but it was necessary to progress the story. There will be more of them soon. More interation. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Thank you so much for Albus' reassuring words ;) *****, as usual...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
LOL are you making a joke? Some people don;t like him much. I'm not sure I like JKR verosn of how he ended either but I love my Albus.
Thanks :)
There will be a long and difficult way before Hermione wil find Serverus Snape 'heart In this way, the story is more real It's a good job Thank you
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
She does think so, but remember Raven is part of him now.
I'm so glad you liked it, thanks :)
Albus is still meddling. But I do see some hope there.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, there always hope :)
Oh, Jeannie, you're breaking my heart. Hermione is so heartbroken, and I hope she can master her emotions and hurt feelings long enough to become Severus' friend. He misses her so much now that surely it's only a matter if time before they can find their way back to the love they knew when it was Raven who was present.Severus misses her so badly he can't sleep. To make matters worse, ever since he read what Raven wrote in his journal about how Firewhiskey had taken their life away, he couldn't drink anymore.I'm glad that Severus signed the contract that Minerva offered him, and hope he will not be too angry when he finds out that Hermione will be teaching at Hogwarts. Maybe Severus will need Hermione's help with the book of spells, and that will be a gateway to rekindling the love.Great, angsty chapter!Beth
Response from gersknightlady (Author of Raven)
Thanks, Sorry there had to be some real transition time here. Severus has to come to terms with the possible changes he could come across inside himself. Yes, he misses her, but I'm not sure he's ready to admitt it to himself.Yes he does have a very strong reaction in the next chapter :)Thanks so much for your review.
