When Severus finds out that Hermione will be working at Hogwarts and that Minerva had him sign the contract but neglected to inform him of that minor detail, he's sure to smell a setup. Will Hogwarts survive the resulting explosion? ^-^

Severus coming back voluntarily gives me hope.  I'm glad Dumbledore's portrait will go with Minerva, although I can imagine the Board would want it eventually.  Thanks for updating!

Well... he signed the contract.  That's a step in the right direction, right?  Or will he explode when he realizes Hermione will be teaching there as well?  Poor Hermione, missing Raven and being mothered to death at the Burrow.  Maybe being around the Weasley's will help her heal her heart.  Great chapter!  :D

This is getting really good.  As well as the first part was written, I was really aching to get the real Severus Snape back!  I'm looking forward to seeing how the two of them come back together!

There is something to be said for physical memory, but I feel so bad for Hermione.  Although he did call her Hermione, so there is some hope.

Poor Hermione! Months and months of working with a loving man only to see him disappear. And in his place, a man with his face but not his heart, someone who would assume that he was, once again, only being used. I hope, in time, Severus will find Raven somewhere within himself.

Ok, I admit that Professor Snape had to return, maybe... And I guess that the situation with Hermione migth come as a big shock to him, and we know how well Severus handle unwanted shocks. But, I have very little leway for a grown mans issues, despite all he has gone through it is about time he grows up: That includes to treat Hermione with some decorum of respect, no matter if he doesn't remember Raven, and it includes to stop punishing a child for its fathers sins. From day one he has treated Harry with a hatred that was irrational and childish. Punishing Harry for deeds done by people Harry never knew, both the bullying from James and Sirius, but also for Lily not loving him as he did her. Hermione deserves better than a man such as that, I am quite tempted to wish for her to walk away from him while telling him to seek her up if he ever grows up....I love this story, and I am very much looking forward for the next update (but I will have a box of rotten tomatoes to throw at Severus if he doesn't behave:-)))

That was unexpected... I hoped that Severus would at least associate Hermione with something close and warm, but , oh, we'll see; maybe he will gradually reveal his other self... Read the journal and look into memories left for you, Severus; it's an order! LOL I am an emotional girl... Waiting for another excellent chapter, dear author!!!

This is so odd. He hasn't ingested the potion yet, but he is already reacting to it? How? Just from the fumes? and if so, then why isn't Hermione also feeling its effects?I must admit I am a bit confused. But the circumstances do make for a very interesting twist.

Interesting combination of romantic, frustrating and scary things going on in this chapter.  The combination of which melded surprisingly well.
