Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

I look forward to updates on this story. Of course it is great when there is progress on the romance side and uncovering of the mystery of the spell. However, it is also fun to see reactions as people find out he is alive. Looking forward to Minerva's. Will the shroud spell let Hermione see Severus' expressions? Would like for her to get over her insecurities. Thanks for writing!

I agree any thing to get to that romance and beyond. I have some fun with this story later on...I think she will be able to see his face like people can see Sir Nicholas. Lots of stuff happens int he next couple chapters.Thanks for your review.
Huh, it looks like we get to 'see' Severus in the next chapter!! Very interesting -other- shields. Do I smell a latent spell from Dumbledore?

Thank you, I'm so glad your hooked. This story is 42 chapters so far. Having a hard time getting through 42. But I''l get it finished in the next few days. Hope you enjoy whats comes up. :)
I imagine that if Severus is angry at all about Hermione telling Poppy, it's that she did it without consulting him about it first. He's already thought to himself that Poppy always kept his secrets, so he has nothing against her personally. Severus feels so out of control right now that he probably wants to exert whatever tiny bits of control that he possibly can over his existance, and he won't like Hermione doing things that could affect him without telling him beforehand.However, now that Poppy knows, surely there are powerful spells known only to certified Healers that she would have access to which could shed further light on Severus' condition? At the very least, I imagine that she could help narrow down the possibilities by being able to rule out what it definitely is not.I'm looking forward to finding out more, this has been a fascinating concept! Next chapter, please!

You have disected this chapter very well. Yes Poppy will be great help to them. They have soe grwoing pains to go through. But I think you will like chapter 5. :)I'm glad you like the concept. I really do love the Shirley Temple movie called the Blue Bird of Happiness. I was thinking about what a story might be like if severus only was aware when someone thought of him like her grandparents in the movie...it just sort of grew from there.Thank you so much for your very large and interesting review.
I'm tickled pink that Severus and Hermione are together during her Potions classes. Even though he can't interact with her while she is teaching, he is able to feel apart of the world around him and not feel so lonely.I can't wait to find out what he thinks about her having told Poppy about him being "alive." Perhaps the three of them can figure out just what kind of spell is holding him suspended in time and between worlds. I think they'll make a formidable team, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter!Beth

You've portrayed Poppy as I've always seen her. Stern yet caring about everyone under her purview including a man she has known since he was eleven. A lovely way to see her. ^_^

I wrote a one-shot of Poppy for the Witches of Eve New Year's party that's being posted on another site and I portrayed her the same way. Caring yet firm about the health of others. ^_^

This story has such a unique plot twist from any other SS/HG story I've ever read. I'm really enjoying it.Too bad his aura is like ice. If it was warm, they could snuggle up together. I must assume that some transformation will eventually take place so that will be possible.Very interesting. I can hardly wait to see where you go with it.

I can't think that Severus would really be angry that she told Pomfrey- after all, wasn't he just thinking about how well she knew him? If anyone had to know he was there, it would be Poppy (who could probably scan him for life, then possibly health). I wonder if he is properly alive under that cold front... I guess I'll have to follow along!

Albus and Scorpius make a great team, and it's great that Molly and Arthur have been stabilized. And now it's up to Severus and Lucius to work out more about this partial spell Hermione found. I shudder to think of Severus having to revisit his memories of his time with Voldemort, but I know he will do whatever is needed.Thanks for a great chapter, Jeannie.Beth

Beth thank you for the greta review. Reliving these memories is ahrd for Severus. I think he tries to step forward in his life but his past is like an anvil around his neck.Lucius will be in a number of chapters as we go along.
I'm glad she told Poppy. I can't wait to find out what happens next. Poor Hermione and poor Severus. This is hard for both of them.

It must have been very difficult to leave such blissful surroundings, but I think they are definitely ready to get settled back in.Severus is right, the blessings just continue to pile up. I do hope that continues forever and ever.And Severus is already sold on the idea of a second child, and his first is not yet born. He'll be a good daddy.Great chapter!

Great start! I love it already. I am intrigued by Snape's state of existence. He is obviously somewhere 'between the worlds' in some quasi-state of being... Not sure how to describe my impressions.I am marking this as a fave and will be eagerly awaiting more.
