Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

Now I'm all caught up and frustrated. I love the twists and turns. Scorpius is pissing me off, but I like the angst that his character adds. Can't wait for more.

Sorry LOL its is hard getting ot then end of posted chapters. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Scorpius is quite important to this story as it goes along. I hope another chapter is up in a few days.
I'm so glad Sev was able to speak kindly with Albus Severus. That was very touching. Damn that Malfoy kid!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, I'm gad he coud too. Albus is a pretty good kid. Yeah Malfoy has been quite poisoned by his grandfather.
Damn that Dumbledore!! He's sucha busy body!! Oh well, things are looking good!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes he is, but always with good intentions I think. With him the end justifys the means and he can be quite wrong.
Uh Oh!! They're gonna have some 'splainin to do.

How many more layers to go? One more, or are there more traps in store? :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
There is only one layer. Well in a manner of speaking...Severus will not be injured again for now ...
What a brilliant story! I am looking forward to the next chapter update :-)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you :) I appreciate your comment so much. Hope in another week a new chapter will be up.
Oh my goodness! There is nothing like a little (or a lot of) PMS to put a witches nerves on overload, and with the way Severus told Hermione that he just wanted to be free of the spell... well, I think I would probably have "heard" what Hermine "heard" instead of what Severus really meant. Then on top of a very poor night's sleep, Scorpius pulls his not-so-little stunt and damn near kills Severus when he saves Hermione.I hope that Poppy was able to get him to St Mungo's in time to undo any damage that was done to his organs. Thank God that Severus recognized what the Potion was that Scorpius had used and could tell Hermione. I know Minerva has already given Albus Dumbledore a piece of her mind about this spell he put on Severus, but perhaps she needs to have another "talk" with the old wizard to see if there is anything they can do to move things along without telling SS & HG that this spell will only go away if they declare their love for each other... or another five years goes by. I know Severus has figured out that it was Albus who cast the spell, but I wonder if he realizes that it was the spell that protected him from Nagini? This is another wonderful chapter, m'dear, and I can't wait to see what's in store for them next.Beth

LOL Yeah thought I'd add a bit of reality into the mix LOL The next chapters in the Que and will address many of your concerns. I can't remember if she talks to albus again about Severus... I relaly thought Severus took all the antidotes before hte bubble encased him. It did give him a safe place to heal and sleep. I think Albus has already said he cant interfere witht he spell it has to work its way through. The next 2 chapters are mainly healing chapters, then another event happens... sorry we have to ahve soe touch stuff ehre :) but later they will have some just pure fun. I promise. Thanks for your review Beth as always they are wonderful.Jeannie
EXCELLENT!!!!!I look forward to future chapters....10+++++++++
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I'm glad you like it. Thank you for the review :)
Great chapter! Although, I wish Severus didn't have to be injured repeatedly to be free of his prsion. Dumbles really never considered him a human being, did he? I really hope Severus is given the chance to confront Albus over this. I've read you're not really sure what happens in this story any more since it's been so long since you wrote it. I think you should post the entire thing in the next chapter so we can all tell you what you don't remember! How 'bout it?
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Well I have some ideas LOL. I wish it didn't take os long before each chapter was posted but the posting process is long because there are so many others posting and each chapter has to be corrected. I'm writing Ch 53. So much had happened. I just hope I have touched the readers concerns. Of course I will have chances to fix the older chapters as I post them. I wish I could post it all LOL but it would be so huge :) Albus did say in ch 8 that the layers would have fallen away easier with spoken feelings. I guess those feelings have been unspoken but felt in Severus willingness to sacrifice himself. We will see the final layer fall soon. Then the story takes off in many more ways. There are lots of situations for these two to work through together and some real fun to be had.Thank you so much for reading the story and for your comments.
Ah, more than Severus's layers are unfolding. The layers of the story are unfolding, too. Very nicely done:)Warm regards,Fizzabella

Albus may have meant well, but he was always cruel in his disregard. And Scorpius needs to be punished.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes he did and yes he was. Scorpius will go through some tough things. Thank you for the review.
Boy, is Minerva in for an earful when Severus gets well! Poppy is right, it might be a cruel way to teach Severus about love, but he needed to be taught the way he himself would understand. Stupid Scorpius' comment! Mudblood indeed! He's got a lot of growing up to do to realize that his family got caught not because of what Hermione did, but because of their own stupidity. Unfortunately, Scorpius is only perpetuating that stupidity!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Hummm not sure if Severus talks to her. I'm so busy writing new chapters, plus two new stories that I do ot remember if he does. Thsi was all written starting last summer. Scorpius really hasn't had much of a chance with Draco off working and Lucius raising him most the day. Scorpius does a lot of growing in this story. He has a serious part.Thank you so much for your review
Wow, not very discreet for a Slytherin now was Scorpius?Interesting that Hermione's not realised the distance link's been broken, but then again she's not wanted to risk it has she? Now how long before Hermione realises it was Dumbledore that put the spell on Severus seeing as everyone else has figured it out?Well done! Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
No Scorpius is a very very messed up little boy. Lucius has poisoned him. I don't rememebr how long it takes for Hermione to figure it out. I think Severus talks to someone about it in the next chapter.Thank you so much for the review.
Holy smokes, Scorpious did this time, I hope they expell that brat or better yet toss him in Azkaban. I will say you have those two through a lot, I had a feeling Severus would figure out who had put that spell on him. Wonder what Hermione will think when she finds out what Dumbledore did. I'm on pins and needles to find out what happens next and hopes for Severus to revcover.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, he did cause a horrible accident here. Thank goodness for Magical medications. I hope that you will like what I decide to do with Scorpius. He does feature a lot in chapters to come. The next chapter is in the Q. Not really exciting but some nice scenes I think. One of those necessary chapters to get from one place to another. Thank you so much for your review,
that was wonderful. I'm glad others realize his value. I liked the idea of James and Albus holding Scorpius down. It seemed right that people with those names would help. Will Minerva tell Dumbledore? What will be his reaction? Will he tell how to lift the final stage?
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, I think lots of people at Hogwart's are enjoying this new Severus. You know my story has a huge flaw James is never mentioned again I don't think. I may have to go back and re-write a few chapters here and there to add a scene here or there. James doesn't really feature in this story much. This is Albus chance to shine. Did you miss Minerva tearing into Albus D. I thought we did that already, yes we did Ch 8. I don't remember if we see her tell him about this accident or not. He did explaine to ehr in Ch 8 more abooutt he spell. Thanks so much for the review
Oh, that manipulative, old man did not make it easy for them, did he! Now that Severus can roam alone a little, I hope he confronts the former Headmaster's portrait ;) Poor Sev, he's trying so hard.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, he is trying and maybe this ones a little over the top so soon after the other accident...I wrote this last summer :) Sometimes it's hard for me to remember what happened before. I'm so far past this all. It's gona get a bit rougher then we have some fun :)I don't think I've ever captured a Admins attention before :) Thanks so much for the review.
Response from WriterMerrin (Reviewer)
Very often, we get so busy that it's hard to stop and comment on individual stories, but I am really enjoying this interesting Epilogue-Fix.
Nice addition to the mix with the thought of children.Scorpius must be quite powerful to be able to attempt Legilimency from that distance. Severus is wise to be keeping an eye on him.Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, so much ahppens there has been like 4 -5 stories combined. I some times wonder if they should be sequals. Each part of the story adds to people histories and relationships. Non of the new parts where ever planned, they just come to me as I write. This was originallt supposed to end with the bubble solution but that was so long ago. I'm working on ch 53 now. Scporpius take a part of the next thought then that works into Molly and Arthur needing help, then we deal with Lucius....in between Severus and Hermione relationship goes and they play and love and fight and just live.
At least Severus has an inkling of what's going on with Scorpius. Hopefully that will help in the future.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Severus will have to deal with the brat for better or for worse. Thanks for all the reviews Sunny.
Yes, Sev, do watch Scorpius! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yep he needs to watch very carefuly
Uh oh, a Malfoy fly in the ointment. :0
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes quite a big one
Thought for a minute he had become more visible, but it was just the spell. Pity! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes it is a pity several more layer to come off before that happens....and lotd of story to tell after.
That spark might just be useful! :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes it deffinately might LOL
