Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I think he's finally got the message. :) Thank you. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it.
The horrid memory that Scorpius saw with Severus really seemed to effect him. Not enough to make him turn away from his grandfather right away, but I think there are a few chinks beginning to appear in his armor. The Potions team contest is a great idea. Working with Albus to show what they can accomplish is bound to help Scorpius see the error of Lucius' thinking.Beth

Thank you Beth. I know some of this has been hard to see and get through. wanted Scorpius to be shocked and devestated by what his grandfather did, enough to shock him into changing the direction his life was heading. Yes he was very effected.Thank you so much for your thoughts.Jeannie
Poor Scorpious. I'm glad he's come around.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
It was rather brutal and I'm glad we have gotten through this part of the story. there are other things our characters (up till now) will go through... not personally but they must work hard to solve a situation that could prove fatal to people they love.
how you resolved the scorpius situation was neat and loved how real the hernione near rape and scorpius bitterness were.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, I really enjoyed writing the Scorpious part of the story.
It was all very hard for me to write angst. I like happy stories but I kow there has to be angst. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your reviews.
severus seems to have acts of service as a love language! 5lovelanguages.com

I could have sworn I answered this. His being able to give of himself in a self sacrificing way is teaching him love... Making him worthy...
amen! loving this chapter especially! =))

Thank you so much :) You made my day. I hope I will continue to keep your intrest as the story unfolds. Thank you so much for the review.
This is so different than anything else I have read and believe me I have been reading way too much. I am enjoying the way you write and love how you let us hear his thoughts, that is my favorite part of your writing. I can see there will be some interesting chapters ahead and can't wait to continue. :-)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I'm glad you are enjoying this first chapter. This story has been posting for several years. There are about 7 more chpaters to post. The story has been completed for some time. So fear not that it won't get done. :)Let me know now and then what you think,
It should be a good revenge on the head girl, etc. I really enjoyed the chapter.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, I'm afraid I never actually wrote that out. Maybe I should some day just fromt he fun. We could revisit this story. We are on to the last few chapters and the fun parts are coming.
I don't know who to feel sorry for the most Severus or the little girl. Great job at describing Severus' emotional dilemmas.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Your right it was a strange situation for them both. Poor Severus. Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just felt this Severus would never feel whole with out his hands to do the work he loves. Thanks for the comments.
I really have to comment on Severus' medical task at the end of the chapter. For whatever reason you decided to do this, it occured to me that this young woman would probably grow up more well-adjusted and accepting of her body because a man took the time to explain and be gentle with her. This way she knows just how normal her bodily functions are and not the greatest of mysteries, women only, to be hidden and ashamed of. Regardless of how mortified men may be, it might make all the difference in the world to a young person to know she is normal and menstruation isn't a "curse".
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you so much. I thought for a minute you were gona take me to task and I find such a lovely compliment. I agree this should be explained to kids better by whoever is there. It normal and definately not a curse. We get such wonderful life from the process.Thank you for your well thought out comment.
THIS IS ONE TERRIFIC STORY YOU ARE WEAVING. I HAVE ENJOYED IT FROM THE START AND IT JUST GROWS BETTER & BETTER. I WISH YOU HAD ABOUT A 1000 MORE CHAPTERS FOR US, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I WOULD GIVE YOU 100 STARS IF TPP HAD 'EM. ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES. JIMBO
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you. You make me want to actually write nore int he future. Maybe I can revisit this HO universe from time to time. Life keeps going on and things happen. This is a wonderful compliment and I really appreciate it.
I so understand that Severus wanted to take the potion because being a potion master is part of his identity. I am glad you made that clear and explained by doing so that it has nothing to do with a problem to cope with physical disability, but with his whole identity as a person. I can relate to that, I still view myself as a scholar even if I don't work anymore at a university. And I am very glad the potion worked and he is healed again. His physical healing seems to support his emotional healing as well.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
No I would never say that physical handicaps are a bad thing. Many people live full and wonderful lives. I work with a student with limitations every day and she says she's a lot better person now. I agree. For Severus it was his life, Potions. This makes me perhaps want to take the opposite situation and have him cope... right now I have no new ideas for another fic.I'm glad yoou like how it turned out. Thank you for your comments.
First of all sorry for not reviewing every chapter of this wonderful story of yours but I want you to know I am still hooked and still very impressed about the way you let this story evolve. Every chapter is fresh and meaningful and you neiter rush things nor drag them out.I really liked the way you let Severus deal with this frightened girl in this chapter. His choice of words is so in character for him and at the same time a sign that he has broken through the wall. What I particularly like is that it seems he is now able to actually receive the acknowledgements he gets, wether is is from the students or from Hermione. It's so nice to see him becoming whole. The bonding seems to be exactly at the right time in his life.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you Orlando, I'm so glad you took the time to write. Thank you for your compliments. They make me happy. I have gotten some wonderful reviews for this chapter. I love writing Hermione and Severus. Severus has gone through a lot of changes in this story. He's becoming more of the man he was always meant to be. I'm glad you think he was in character. The wall is deffinately coming down. Time to get on to the Bonding.I hope you will at least let me know what you think of the conclusion. 8 more chapters to go.
“Yes, but you are my soppy, wet thing.”We really are making progress, LOL. I'm so pleased that the potion worked for him. I liked Poppy's comment that she would have to talk Molly our of some of her ideas about the bonding. She really does know Molly well :)
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I thought I answered this earlier, but here it is again. Yes we are making progress and should be soon on to the rest of the story. Chapters to have soe fun with.I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. Thank you so much for your review.
I have read the whole story in a matter of days. I do apologize for not leaving a review on the other chapters. I have absolutely fallen in love with this story. Out of all the SS/HG stories I have read this is the best! I can't wait to read to the end. Hopefully a new chapter is on it's way. Great job, truly great job.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Well thank you again, I assume you read this after Out Fate... I hope a new chapter will be up in amater of days. Last I looked the next ch was number 4 to be corrected. There is also another chopter waiting ot be placed in the Queue. The story is 57 chapters long so we are coming to the end soon.I have also finished A Time for Goodbyes. Its getting posted also. Total 20 chapters. So far nothing new has occured to me. But one never knows if I will add a one shot or a new addition to a sotry already posted.Thank you fo your reviews today :)
Response from TheNerd (Reviewer)
Yes, I did. I just fell in love with this one. I can't wait for the new chapter! I am actually on Chapter 6 on A Time for Goodbyes. I am thinking by the time I finish the last chapter will have been posted. I hope to see many more stories from you! Thank you for these stories. I will be sure to bookmark them and read them over and over.
It makes me so happy that Severus will become headmaster. One less thing to worry about is a blessing indeed. I am hoping that Scorpius is just in denial about what he saw this time and so became defensive of his grandfather. Maybe when he has a bit of time to himself to reflect upon what he witnessed, he will begin to understand what Severus is trying to teach him. I hope Severus gives Dumbledore some serious Hell before he thanks him for giving him the gift of Hermione.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, it takes some of the male ego pressure away LOL. I couldn't leave him feeling powerless.I think your right he was ain a bit of denial. Hard for him to give up his persception of his grandfather. I hope he does too I can't remember LOLThanks for your commnets
I can't help but feel Hermione is a little too naive and trusting. Yes, maybe Scorpius did feel badly that his grandfather was in pain, but how does SHE know that he wasn't crying because of the torture - and secretly wishing that his grandfather could have gotten away with the despicable acts anyhow? Tears and sadness don't necessarily negate the wish for evil. Sometimes the intent is still there...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I guess like me she looks for the good in people and hopes that they will see its the best way to go. I guess she doesn't she like my readers will have to see how it goes. Your right it doesn't but then again....Thank you so much for your review.
I wonder what they will end up doing with Scorpius. I'm so glad that Severus will be Headmaster.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Well we will see what happens with Scorpius as the rest of the story playes out. I hope my readers will like what becomes of him.Thank you for your comments.
“I don’t care what you say. My grandfather loves me, and he taught me that I can have anything I want if I’m strong enough to fight for it.”“Yes, by all means, fight for what you want. But use good and not evil to get there. Evil begets more evil, and it will destroy your soul like it has done to Lucius.”Fantastic, and well written! Looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Thank you

, I'm so pleased you have enjoyed the story. My beta promised to look at the next chapter this week. More to come soon.
This second visit into the Pensieve was more brutal than the first for Scorpius and for Severus. I was heartened that the boy was so overcome that he buried his face in Severus' chest and cried, but I think it will take more Pensieve visits and perhaps a bit more than that to get through the misplaced adoration and respect he has for his grandfather. The news that Severus will be Minerva's successor as Headmaster is wonderful, and I'm glad that he has found something that he can thank Dumbledore for after he gives him a good tongue lashing for not consulting him before he "arranged" for him to survive.Well done!Beth
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, it was very brutal and I was cringing when I posted it to the queue I wondered if it was too much. It was a powerful scene so I decided to go ahead with it. I too am happy that Severus will be free of the worry abouthis future. Can you imagine a Hogwart's without both of them. No me... :)Thanks Beth, Im glad you enjoyed it
Very nice. Maybe he's starting to get through, but then Scorpius *is* a stubborn Malfoy. ^_^
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes he is and it will take a bit more to convince the boy that his idol has huge flaws. Thank you so much for your comment.
awww....how cute! the Hermy & Sev part, I mean. wow! how you come up with this is beyond my understanding...you're a genius or something.... (: great chappie "Cheers!"
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don;t know where it comes from. I seldom have a story planned I just start writing and it just keeps coming out. I doubt I'm a genius, I write scenes I myself want to see them in. I really enjoy Severus and Hermione together.
Powerfull chapter, Severus is getting closer to cracking the boys armor. Yes he loves his grandfather but he needs to understand that sometimes his grandfather's ideals are a bit twisted.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you Marty. Yes he is getting closer. Scorpius is finding out his Grandfather is really messed up. We will see soon what he decideds.
