Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

Can't get his clothes off? Maybe if he saves a kitten from a tree or something smarmy and heroic like that. Probably when he tells Poppy he loves her like mother? We'll see.

Well there had to be layers of growth in this story :) Each layer is fought and won.

I'm sure that between Poppy and Hermoine they will get this sorted out and Severus can finally get near Hermione without freezer burning her. By then, enough time should have passed for them to be in quite a lather to get to each other, I expect. It will be all the sweeter for the wait. I'm thinking that Severus is alive. His wards staying up should have been a hint to Minerva or Flitwick at the very least. Who did she get to try to bring down his wards? It doesn't seem Minerva tried very hard. Maybe she felt it was for the best that his things remain untroubled. Perhaps that was her memorial to him. However, if there was no body to bury, people with a brain to think with should have been suspicious when putting the two together. It makes me wonder how often people even bothered to think about him. Ungrateful lot! Was he aware when Hermione thought about him while she was training to be a Potions Mistress? Was he only aware when someone thought about him if they were near by?

It was ghood that Hermione confided in Poppy she will be a source of strength and help throught this story. Poppy is quite impotant in this one.I guess they should have been a kint (the wars) but I didn't think about all that stuff. Good analysis on your part. :)Severus sure did get the short end of the stick in this universe. I like to see him happy in mine.

I wonder if Hermione noticed she told Severus she loves him? Even if he didn't say it back, yet, I think she'd be OK with that for now. I like the idea of the halls being like gardens. Here it would violate fire codes and JCHO. I work in a hospital and medical office setting and it is not very warm or attractive at all, except the labor and delivery rooms. I often complain about it, but it isn't a battle I am going to win. I'm surprised that Neville has grey hairs being that he is a wizard and they live a very long time. I would assume they look young for longer than muggles. You are doing a great job! I'm loving the story.

Poor Severus. He is trapped where ever Hermioe chooses to leave him. I hope his wandless magic gets easier to perform. It reminds me of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" w/ Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison (1947). It is a romantic fantasy about a woman and a ghost, but I so hated that man for deciding along the way that she would be better off not remembering him so she could fall in love with a living person. She lived the rest of her life alone without a lover because she knew she was missing something or someone else. He finally came to her when she died. I hate men deciding for women what is best, but that was to be expected in 1945 when that story was published by R.A Dick (Actutally Josephine Lislie). In this story, Hermione has a lot of power over Severus. I trust her to use it lovingly as I trust this author. I'm becoming less worried that I'm going to end up sad. I bawled about that stupid movie for days. I could hardly sleep that night, I was so upset. I'm enjoying your story very much. I am of course hoping that Hermione will get Severus' problems straightened out so that they can get on with being romantically involved. I love love. I'm a silly swot when it comes to romance.

Wow it's been a few weeks I guess since I've checked this site. I see many wonderful reviews and I will now try to go through them and make comments.I loved the Ghost and Mrs. Muir both the movie and series on TV. Yes if Severus was a ghost I agree it's better to live with the ghost than alone. With in this growing relationships there will be ups and downs. Wonferul times and difficult times but love is always the winner in my stories. There were parts I hated writing and other parts were just fun fanatsy espcapes...

I believe things may improve for Severus. I really hope so. If only he could touch Hermione without her being uncomfortable. It would be easier to let her feel his presense. At least she knows he needs her help now. A little flirting and flattery will get him a long way with Hermione right now. He'd best take advantage of it. Now that he isn't in the bubble will he still not be hungry or thirsty? I wonder if he will still lose his senses when she sleeps. I wonder if he can move objects. I can't wait to find out!

I do hope he eventually finds a way to become visible. Even life as a ghost would be better than this half ghost, non life. He deserved more. This is going to make me cry, isn't it? I really love your picture. I can't make out what Severus is looking down at in the bubble, though. I best put on my big girl panties and face the next chapter. I'm enjoying the story very much. I just don't have a very good tolerance for sad things. I take what I read and see in movies too much to heart. I become too emotionally invested in the characters. I wish I didn't but then I might not be able to imagine the stories I read so vividly, and I could read for ever. Few stories start out with such an interesting first chapter. Great job!

I have so enjoyed your story. It is a different twist to the Sev survives. Here he has the life he should have had in cannon. Family, friends, wife, children. Thanks you for the wonder read.

Thank you so much for your comments and the reveiw. I'm very glad to know you enjoyed my story.
Endings to lengthy stories are always both a happy and sad occasion. I liked that you set it further out in the future, with the baby being born not their first. And everyone turned out just where they should be. Yay for happy endings!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I agree it's wonderful to get to the end of a long posting. It's taken several years. But I have loved this story and I'm so happy you enjoyed it all. There's no other ending than a soggy happy one for me. :)Thank you for leaving so many reviews.

Excellent! The baby latched on and they watched her suck greedily. “She’s like her father,” Hermione said and then grinned devilishly at him. This line cracked me up lol Well done :)

Your welcome :)
It is so sad when a story you love reading has come to the end, it is like saying good bye to an old friend. Thank you so much for sharing and Congratulations on finishing your story. You have managed to give Severus the ending he so dearly deserved. This is how it should be.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I agree it is sad. Maybe we will revisit them on some Holiday in the future. Thank you for letting me know how much you enjoyed the story. Yes, our Severus definitely deserved a happy ending. It's why I write SS/HG fic. Thanks again :)
This was a wonderful story. Well done. I liked all of the twists and turns.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you so much, It kind of rgew as I wrote. I'm glad you enjoyed it all. Thanks for the review.
Very sweetly satisfying, reminding us (as is essential in these long sagas) of how far the characters have come and what they have had to endure and survive. Congratulations on your completion of the story!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed all the places it took me. Many just poped out as I wrote. It was never intended to go to far past the bubble ending.:)
why would Scorpius be angry ?Draco's familly ultimately took Harry's side...His grandmother lied to Voldemort so Harry could defeat him...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Well since this is an Another Universe story there are changes that deviate from Cannon. I'm not sure that the Malfoy's really redeemed themselves. They just took a neutral stance. It's true she did help Harry and Draco didn't betray Harry at the Manor....but again thats cannon. For the purpose of this story there is bad blood between the families.Thank you for you comments. I appreciate them.
Awww... he protected her.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, she is his life line already.
Woohoo! She'll be able to see him!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)

Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
