Age 59, I have been a Severus and Alan Rickman fan for a couple years. I post SS/HG stories.
I went to NY last week to see Seminar (Jan 4, 20012) It was wonderful.
Shades of Severus in his character and his house. I was priviledge to see Alan up close an personal after the play.

great chapter! I hope there is more! I really love this story!

Thank you, I'm so glad you are enjoying the tale. Thanks for letting me know.
So happy to see Scorpius on the road to redemption, but was sorry that he felt his grandfather didn't really love him. I agree with Hermione, Lucius does love his grandson but has a warped way of showing it. Hope there are happier days ahead not only for Scorpius but for the rest of the Malfoy family as well! Also enjoyed the back and forth between Severus and Poppy, and her honorary designation as "Mom." Look forward to seeing what plans she comes up with for Severus' and Hermione's wedding.

Thank you, I think he is and he will have a chnace in the future to talk to his Grandfather. Lucius isn't down for the count yet. There will be more with them.I'm glad you like the Poppy conections. I really have enjoyed writing that for him. Thank for leaving a review.
I'm glad to see Scorpius concede that enough is enough, and willing to talk about Lucius.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you. I wll continue to work with the Malfoy family as the story progresses.
Like this chapter. Can't wait for the next one. ^_^

Thank you, The next ones in the queue.
Thank goodness all the discord around Scorpius' desire to be loyal to his grandfather is past, and he and Albus seem to be on the way to a great collaboration for the Potions contest.Severus' and Hermione's relationship grows stronger every week, and it's good to see them happy and looking forward to the future. I'm sure Poppy will come up with some great ideas for the upcoming wedding. *grins*Beth

I'm glad your happy that its done. I think Albus and Scorpius will forge a deep friendship based on their interest and skills in Potion's.I think Poppy is looking forward to planing her son's wedding. But other want to help as well :)Thank you for your review, Beth.Jeannie
Finally Scorpius understands what Draco and Severus have trying to tell him! I'm sure there will be other problems that arise, but I hope the worst is behind them.Well done, Jeannie!Beth

Thank you, I think he got the point LOL. Pretty greusome things hes had to watch to get the point. I don't think he will forget.
LOVE THIS STORY, SUCH A DEPTH OF FEELING FOR ALL THE CHARACTERS. YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT I LIKE! YOU KEEP WRITING AND I WILL KEEP READING...
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
WELL THANK YOU SO MUCH :) I'M GLAD YOU LIKE THIS AS MUCH AS I ENJOY WATCHING IT.THE STORY IS COMPLETE, AT I THINK 46 CHAPTERS. sO WE HAVE A WAYS TO GO. I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER STORIES POSTED HERE AS WELL.Thanks so much for reading the story and making a comment.
Good Scorpius! Now he understands why everyone was pushing him so hard not to follow that path again! Severus was so strong, standing there reliving all those horrible memories. It must have hurt him horribly, remembering what Draco went through.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, Severus was pretty stressed by the whole ordeal. Its a good thing Hermione was there ready to help him relax don't you think. :)I think just the fact that he loves Hermione enoough to give that of himself speaks volumes for how much he has grown and changed in this story.Thank you for making comments and leaving a review, It is very much appreciated.
I have been following and enjoying this story for some time. It's quite a relief to read this pairing in a setting that has a "realistic" approach. No teenage angsty Hermione or brooding Severus. Just a couple trying to get through the days with all they entail.Thank you very much for writing this. It defines the "higher road" in a world that had endured such turmoil.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you first for taking the time to let me kow what you think. I very much appreciate that and hope you continue to make comments. This was a way to egt Hermione to a closer age, to have her come into her own career but still have that conection with severus that literally drew him back to life. I'm so glad you enjoy the direction we are going. I hope you will like the next few chapters. It's a bit of a different twist for them but still gives us another situation to deal with.
Yay, I'm glad Scorpius has been straightened out. And I like the idea of a Severus in love.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you, I like seeing him happy too. If any one deserved happiness it was him.Thank you for the review.
I think that Scorpius may finally, truly get the message that Snape is trying to give him. He would do good to change his way of thinking. I also think it would do him a world of good if he and Albus could do something spectacular in terms of potions and end up good friends to boot. He may need a little boost in the self esteem dept. He is quite lucky that they are giving him a second chance and better take it and run with it. There is hope yet!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I think he has gotten the message. He and Albus are goign to take on some important projects as time goes by. Yes, he was very lucky that they gave him a chance. I think Hermione is the kind of person who always hopes for the best in people and Severus loves her and wants to make her happy so he gave the kids a chance even at his own discomfort. He hasn't really changed that much has he, hes just more open now.Thank you so much for your review. I really appreciate it.
Although a few students from Death Eater families glared at him, I hope the vast majority of Slytherins cheered Snape heartily as one of their most accomplished and famous Heads of House.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I don't think I covered that idea any further in the story. Maybe he was accomplished but they tend to remember the last thing he was and that was a trader to Lord Voldemort.
Response from Very Small Prophet (Reviewer)
Does that mean that ALL the Slytherin students were sympathetic toward Voldemort, not just those whose families had Death Eater connections? NONE of them disapproved of the Dark Lord or were neutral about him? For those who did not actively support the Dark Lord, Snape was not a traitor but a hero. Or at least extremely impressive. It's a minor point, of course. The fact that the story is completed is no reason for me not to express an intelligent (I hope!) critique. Most literary criticism (which includes praise) is done after the fact. It's only my opinion, after all. None of it is meant personally.
To have Severus calmly explain that he’s changing to become pleasant and sociable because of a mysterious all-purpose spell seems to me a bit of a cop-out. It’s as if you don’t want to deal with our usual sarcastic, anti-social Sev, yet you also don’t want to take the trouble of having Severus struggle through a long, realistic transformation. Instead we’re simply presented with a new Sev, and are told that changes have happened when we weren’t looking. I want the real Severus, not this stranger bearing his name.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Well the story is finished so maybe you shouldn't read it. I appreciate your opinion, but this continues to be an Out of Character story, and is labeled so on a number of chapters if not most of them.
Why is everyone calling Hermione "Madam Granger"? Her title is "Professor." Snape wouldn’t stand for such disrespect (or carelessness) for a split second. I wouldn’t expect Hermione to snarl at Hagrid or Poppy the way Severus would, but she ought to have enough self-confidence to correct them. After all, she EARNED that title.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Wow apparently you dont't like my writing. 3 bad reviews. Sorry the storys such a dissappointment.
He needs to realize he can love his grandfather and not agree with his beliefs.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, he does, and I hope to get the new chapter up soon so you will see what happens.Thank you for your thoughts.
Thank you for the update! Glad to see Scorpius is becoming more and more willing to accept the people and things around them. Looking forward to seeing Severus and Hermione's magical wedding!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you for your review. Scorpius is sure getting a birds eyes view of the Real world of Voldemort. There are things the delay the wedding but it will eventually arrive.:)
A hot time in the library tonight! *giggle* I think that particular study area will never be the same. Good chapter, as always, even though it took over a month for you to post it. Next chapter, please? ^_^
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I'm glad yoou enjoyed the Library scene. I want to keep this couple exciting and happy in between the many things they still have to get through. This story is complete. My beta has had some RL vacations and illness so we had to wait for this one. I hope I can get the next one done sooner. Lisa has hung in here with me through a number of stories and I appreciate it :)Thanks for the review. I always enjoy your comments.
Oh, that Scorpius is one confused boy! Or at least he has me confused. One moment he seem like he is really willing to change. That he is really taking to Albus as a friend, and Severus and Hermione as mentors. But then he is still stuck on his grandfather and seeing these memories. I guess change won't happen overnight, I just hope he really is trying. And lest I forget, the library scene was nice. Things aren't going to get boring for this couple if she keeps that up.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Yes, he is and he wants to respond to the kindness but he had so much hate ingrained itno him by a man he loves and depended on. This next chapter will deal with a new memory and a decision.I'm glad you enjoyed the library scene. I hope to continue to lighten the drama with some together time for our two lovers.Thank you for your reveiw.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! Thank you for using what I wrote, You are the bestest of friends...Glad I could help...Looking forward to more...

Yes, there is, Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I hope to have a new one soon.
that was a very effecting chapter. it had me gripping my fists too. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you I'm glad you liked it. There is more for Severus and Scorpius to get through.
I hope this is all worth the effort. It is going to be tough for Severus, but maybe it will be worthwhile if they get through to Scorpius. I wish Severus realized that Hermione isn't going anywhere. He's always so hard on himself. I'm glad he has her.
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
I hope so too. Yes it is tough for Severus to revisit a time he'd much rather forget. But he feels this may be the only way for him to reach the boy. This is a new Severus one who cares about a childs future. One who knows how bad it can get to chose the dark side of life.Hermione will always be there. Thanks for your review.
Have just found your fic and an undiscovered jewel it is. I shall be eagerly anticipating future updates and am interested as to where you take this fic next. Very enjoyable so far, keep on going and will we be seeing snapettes? This reminds me of some of Ms-Figs early work.....brilliant!
Response from gersknightlady (Author of A Ghost of a Chance)
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you found it and are enjoying it. Wonderful compliment thank you...we will see if Snapett's show up as the story progresses. This story is about half way posted and is a completed story. So we have a lot to go and a lot of things to deal with. There wll be a crisis with the Weasleys and Lucius to deal with as well as other fun advaentures to experience. I hope you will continue to let me know what you think.:)
Oh, I am so happy you updated this... Yea! Loved the chapter so much.
