Reviews for Hilltop Cottage
Your killing me here. How long are we going to have to wait for Severus to find out about his son?? Love the story, but hate how our couple is separated. Hope there is a happy ending in there somewhere :)
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Relax... breathe.... there... all better! I promise a happy ending!
Now I'm desperate to see Severus meeting his son for the first time. I hope it won't cause him a hard attack.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
*snort* Your 'Hard Attack' typo gave me extremely naughty thoughts!
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
Oops or maybe Yeah for you! *wink* Does that mean there should be capital letters for Hard Attack? Because else I don't know how to write it. In any case that was totally unintentional. I thought I wrote it correctly...
Harry seems to have taken the news of Donovan rather well. Glad to see he's matured so much. I think Harry will give Hermione some good advice on how she should handle things with Severus. Hopefully she'll take things to heart. In her defense, she never knew Severus loved her because he never told her. It's hard to keep that in mind, although it does make her actions understandable.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Severus was always so ambiguous about things... and Harry has always tried to be there for Hermione even if she didn't agree with his opinion!
I'm glad Harry took it so well.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
He's growing up!
Hmmm... so I see Harry knows. Oh man... won't Severus be absolutely livid when he finds out that Harry knew about Donvan before he did! I also love the description of Hermione's redo of the cottage... new, but still the same. :) You're killing me with this build up to Severus meeting his son... bad author! (Just kidding!) Even though it was a short one, I really enjoyed this chapter. As always, we're all waiting for another update! Happy writing! *hugs*
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
It would be so boring if I gave you all the answrs at once, wouldn't it? A bit like seeing the end of a movie first!
:) I can't wait for Severus to enter the scene.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
He'll be back soon, I promise!
Confused if she wrote him a letter how come he thinks shes had a kid from someone else and is maried...I'm confused.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Do you think that perhaps he didn't get his letter... maybe?
Aren't they both in for some surprises?
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
lmao... you know when you want to avoid someone and they turn up like a bad penny at every turn?
My stomach literally dropped when I saw One Year and Nine Months Later! I read the chapter, and then said: "Wait? Didn't he get his letter? Doesn't he know about his son?" So, I read it again... as well as the previous chapter to make sure I remembered correctly and that she did send it to him. My conclusion: something went wrong and Severus never got his letter. How horrible!! I'm sure Hermione never thought twice about double-checking that it was recieved (she had a bit on her mind at the time), and she probably thought that he didn't respond simply because he didn't want anything to do with either of them, not because he never recieved the letter!Fate and Irony are both fickle bitches ('scuse the language)... *sigh*I'm glad there are several more chapters coming! I cannot wait to see Severus' reaction when he realizes that Donovan (love the name, btw) is his son. Even if he's too stubborn to put two and two together, I'm sure Hermione will tell him... at least she better!Great chapter! I'm can't wait for the next one! Bring on the angst and then the happy ending!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
lol... well done, you win a Gold Star. I'm not saying what you got right but you've guessed quite a bit and got it right. And angst... moi? *evil!grin*
It would appear that Donovan is the spitting image of his father Severus. I'm anxious to see how the reunion is going to be between them, since Severus needs to ask Hermione if he can still use the garden. I look forward to seeing what happens when he realizes that the baby is his. That should be interesting.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
It's interesting to say the least - and heart wrenching, in my opinion anyway!
Response from draegon_fire (Reviewer)
Definitely heart-wrenching. Severus missed out on so much already because of his separation from Hermione, but she didn't know he loved her since he never told her.
I must say I'm a bit confused. She wrote him a letter and after che king she didn't send it to Minerva for her to give him. So how does it come that he seems ignorant of his son? I can't wait for her to read the letter he wrote almost 2 years ago and for him to meet his child. And maybe with her knowledge in charms she can help him cure Minerva.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I intend for you to be confused,
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
! If I gave you all the answers now, you wouldn't want to keep reading, would you??? lol... evil!grin....
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
*stick out tongue* bad author *wink*
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
hehe...Seriously - all of the confusion will become clear in the next few chapters. There are 50 in all, so we've a way to go yet.
I'm a bit confused as to how two letters have slipped past Severus unnoticed. The one obviously went to Spinner's end and he remarked that he hadn't been there, but what about Min's? She certainly wasn't well enough to open it.I hope they see each other soon. Gads it's been so long!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
lol... rest assured the letters issue resolves itself x
Thanks for the update. Very interesting leap forward.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I had to do it to get her back home - I missed the cottage!
. . .Did he not get the letter?Oh. Dear. Gods. There are going to be nine levels of Hel to pay . . . >.<
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Oh happy day... I'm glad someone got that he didn't actually get his letter. All will be revealed later...
Oh my! Quite a jump, eh?
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Necessary, otherwise the story would be 100 chapters long instead of 50!
Response from fuchsiasteerpike (Reviewer)
Oh I believe you! And I'm glad to get to read a real honest-to-goodness update! :)
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I know. I made a real cock up with the chapter posting - it's all sorted now!
Neelix, you're killing me here! They are so darn stubborn. Either he never received the letter, or he got it but never opened it. If he never received it, then I will feel so bad for him, missing the first year of his child's life. On the other hand, even without knowing, you'd think he would have contacted her at some point, if only to make sure she was doing well. If he recieved it but never read it (probably because he found his letter unopened), well, it is understandable but his own damn fault. And in Hermione's case, when she didn't get a response from Severus, you'd think she would have visited, or at least sent one more letter. But at that point the ball was in his court, and maybe she wanted it to be that way and whatever happens, happens. Still, did she not wonder why she didn't receive a response from Minerva? Or did she actually get a response, but had asked Minerva not to mention anything to Severus?GEEZ NEELIX, WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?Anyhow, if you are put out that I am yelling at you, know that if I didn't love this story so much, I wouldn't care at all what happened to them. Honest. Please put me out of my misery by updating soon. I would also ask you to put Severus and Hermione out of their misery too, but I suspect that is too much to ask. Thanks for giving us what continues to be a frustrating incredibly enjoyable story!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
welll.... I'm glad I isnpired you to write...! lol..Firstly: I made a huge cock up in posting the previous few chapters so the updates have taken longer while i resolved my posting error. Apologies!Secondly: The answers to the Letters conundrum will be resolved in future chapters, as will all of the loose ends that remain untied presently.Have faith.... we have a way to go yet!
i was excited to see that you had updated. though admittedly, i was a little disappointed with the length.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I chpater my stories to suit the plot - sometimes a shorter chapter is all that is needed.
A YEAR AND NINE MONTHS?!?!?Oh no.so that means--Severus either never got, or never read, her letter to him.But...surely Minerva did?Unless she was / is too ill to do or say anything about it. Is she still in a coma (stasis spell)? So many questions. This story is getting so very sad---please let some sunshine break through soon.On the other hand---you certainly have me intrigued!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Please relax. I promise all will be well...
I know a relationship is two sides, but I do believe he brought this on himself mostly. She stopped trying because he gave her no way to do so.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I think that's very true x
how sad and devestating, good work.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I know. It's very sad, I hated to write it!
I really wish the two of them would swallow their pride and realize how much they need each other. Mainly Severus. Hermione doesn't know that he's in love with her, so leaving is easier for her. I think if he had told her, she wouldn't have left. I think he needs to go after her. I don't think he'll last much longer though, despite the fact that they're trying to forget each other. I think they'll end up back together once Hermione returns. I can't help but wonder how they will reunite. Either by accident, if Severus begs her to come back, or if something happens to one of them.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
It will have to be something huge I think - keep reading!
That's kind of sad. I know there will be time before they get together again but I wish their argument would have been resolved much quicker.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I know, it's quite frustrating but necessary I think - they both have lessons to learn.
Not thinking he's really gotten it yet... Hoping Hermione can find some peace, but n9ot thinking that will work either. Grrr... They both need swift kicks. Wait, that didn't work for Severus... Hexes? Avadas? And Harry really isn't helping.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I know! I want to shake the lot of them... *waits with baited breath*
:-/We really are our own worst enemies, aren't we?
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Exactly, and they are flawed and imperfect and just need to learn to live with each other.
