Reviews for Hilltop Cottage
Oh THANK GOD!!! Finally!!Thank you, Harry Potter!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Yeh, who knew we'd be thanking him, eh??
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now lots of tears and hugs and kisses (and etc. etc.) and first magic and fixin' things!!!I love you again---I was really hating you for the way you were making them (and us) suffer for so long there, but then that's what kept us all of the edge of our seats. Now ..... comfort to reward them (and us) for all the suffering---ok??? (although I just know you've got something 'else' up your sleeve---after all, can't lose the tension yet, right?) But THANK YOU for bringing them back together!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I always promised a happy ending. However, as you said, we have a way to go yet :)
Holy shites!!! That was *hawt*!!!This had me giggling: 'although how anyone could be seduced in such a shabby house remained to be seen.'So well done!!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Thanks, honey x
Another nice chapter! Snape still feels in character to me! :D ie. "Why are you here?’ Severus folded his arms across his chest and peered down at her coldly. "
And I love that he's 'inexperienced' in that department! Can't wait to find out how things unfold. :D
Oh No!!! Looks like a big misunderstanding! This continues to be very well written and entertaining! :D
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Thanks... There are misunderstandings through the whole story!
Wonderful chapter! Hot and touching at the same time!I liked the ending. :D

Thnaks x
I think now that Hermione knows Severus hasn't been at Spinner's End, she'll realize he didn't get his letter. I think working on a cure for Minerva is a great way for Severus and Hermione to rebuild their relationship. It's hard to remember that Hermione never knew how Severus felt about her, which is why seeing her in Minerva's room sent him into a near panic. I can't wait to see his reaction when he finds out about Donovan. Obviously he'll just have to take one look at the baby to realize that he's the father. I mean, if Harry knew just by looking, so would Severus.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Yep. I agree totally with everything you said. Not telling you if you're theory is right, buy I agree with your ideas...

Oh my. Luna's just as oddly prescient as ever. Minerva's got... it almost sounds like AIDS, what with attacking her immune system. But how would she get it? I hardly imagine her using intravenous drugs, or having unprotected sex. *mind shrivels* But nobody's mentioned HIV that we've seen, so maybe not? Hm.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
The thought of Minerva having sex, let alone unprotected, grosses me out totally! LOL!And good guess with the AIDS thing... keep thinking, you'll work it out.
Another fantastic chapter! We have been giving you lots of grief about the letters, but I will say that it is not a matter of thinking that you missed a major plot point, or dropped the ball in writing this, because your stories are always well thought out and turn out terrific. It is just a really hard concept to grasp how the cards can fall just so, to get them to the point they are at now. I hate to say this because it sounds like a negative comment and it is not meant that way at all, but this is just dragging on and on and on, and I am just so desperate to get them together again. I know there is a long road ahead, but we have been continuously spiraling downward for so long that a little bit of hope would not be amiss. Still, you've got a good thing going and I trust you enough to follow whereever you lead. I can't, however, promise to not be antsy on the journey.I hope that they will be able to put differences aside for the sake of helping Minerva. I actually hope that the time apart has given them some perspective, and some insight into what it is that they really want. Still, I know that Severus is going to be mad that he missed the first year of his child's life. And I suspect his anger may manifest in such a way that it doesn't come across as being from his loss so much as aimed at Hermione for messing things up. Maybe Luna can help them reconcile.I also have to wonder whether Hermione will be proud of him for coming back into wizarding society for the sake of his friend and collegue, or whether she will be annoyed that she wasn't incentive enough to bring him back, but Minerva is. If she takes that perspective, that will smart a bit I'm sure.I will stop rambling so you can get back to writing. I am anxious, as always, to see where we go from here.

Well, after such an eloquent review I can't just respond with a thank you!Firstly, the story is complete and has been for some time - I just add the next chapter to the queue as soon as one is posted. I know the admins here work really hard to get everyone's work posted, but because so many people post to the site (thank goodness there is such great writing around!) quite often the chapters are queued for a while before you get to read them. This explains why it seems so long between posting - I have to wait my turn along with everyone else!I know what you mean about dragging it out. When I was writing it, I thought, oh no, here we go again with the angst, but I really had to be true to the story and the characters. I couldn't tie everything up with a Slytherin green ribbon and have them live happily ever after just like that. That's not what the story is about. I wanted it to be real, and for everyone to feel the pain and the joy along with Severus and Hermione. I hope that I've done that! The story is complete in 50 chapters, so get comfy and enjoy the ride. I promise a happy ending!
Well, that's a little better. LOL Now I'm wondering just what shape Minerva will be in. Looks like Luna spied Severus, so maybe... Please... we'll have a 'reunion' of our hero and heroine.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Ahhh yes. Luna is a very able witch but she cannot perform miracles. She can drop huge hints, though!
Totally hate you! I'm usually not one for these long drawn out dramatic stories, but I like this one. Please let it end happily though and no more dramatic breaks!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
.... lol.....I promise a happy ending, and to save you the panic, there are only 50 chapters in total.
Not Fair! That chapter was way too short! I want fireworks and some real apologizing on both sides when the smoke clears. Please? At least Hermione knows how full his plate has been so perhaps she won't be too quick to judge him.I bet that when he rented out the cottage after she left and noticed that she had not opened his last letter to her, he did the same thing when she wrote to tell him he would be a father. So he kept the letter, but never opened it. And, of course, Minerva could not open her own mail. She wouldn't have been able to do anything about it anyway.More, please...
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
The letters thing seems to have thrown everyone! It will become clear I promise x
This made me giggle: "Read, Granger. It’s what you are good at, if I remember rightly.’ I am really enjoying this, Neelix. Sorry my reviews are so short!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I'm sorry I'm only just catching up with your reviews!
Oh, fabulous! I like how you have portrayed Snape. :D
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Thanks... you might not like it so much later!
Neelix, I love your writing style! This flowed so easily, it was like watching a movie! I totally want to look up the town now. It sounds like you've been there in person!!!So well done, my dear!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
lol... I did TONS of research before I started to write, and although I've never been there, I do come from Yorkshire and the streets are very similar.
wow, so close and yet so far. I look forward to the next installment!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I know... not long now though.
This is so well written! I enjoyed your description of the cottage and the conversation with Mike. And your plot continues to be intriguing. I am very curious as to what made Hermione run away.Well done! :D
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Thanks OJ. I think the reason she ran away was explained in the prologue?
Oh, what an intriguing start! I'm so happy to finally read this, neelix! :D
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I'm glad you found me :)
Sigh. Those two at such cross purposes.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I just want to shake them, don't you?
That was close. But Severus won't be able to avoid her indefinitely.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
No, of course not - be a bit of a boring story if they both go their own way!
Where's Severus?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, point made. No it's not. Where's Severus? Gah, you are the queen of dragging stuff out. I did like Harry's reaction. More soon, please.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I promise that the days of dragging stuff out are over for me - this story is the last time, because it KILLED me to write it this way! lol... Instant!Smut will be my motto from now on... unless I have a better idea!
I suddenly had a vision this evening that Snape's going to come in sneering about her family, and then when he finds out she didn't get married, put his foot right in it by saying something about her "bastard". >.< And how she could have contacted him, a Potions Master, to avoid the stigma, or some such. .o(>_<)o.
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
I so want to respond to this, but I can't because it would give away far too much.... *steps away quietly*
O cruel, cruel, to leave us here!Where is Severus? What happened to her letter to him? Where's Minerva?WHAT'S GOING ON?!?!?????????????(sigh)I know I have to be patient and wait. But patience was never one of my strong points.Like Edmund, I've come under the enchantment of the "Turkish Delight" of this story and can't help but crave more, more, more!So update! And bring back Severus! (pretty please?)
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
One Severus coming up - Promise! And as for the letters - all will become clear!
Oh dear. I loved the changes she made to the cottage. It is nice to see that she is fully capable of being a single parent, but I wish she didn't have to be. Nice to know that Harry matured a bit, along with the grey hair. Maybe somehow he will be able to help Hermione and get her to contact Severus (or the other way around). Sometimes a fresh perspective is the best thing for a sticky situation. I will be anxious for the next installment!
Response from neelix (Author of Hilltop Cottage)
Next chapter is in the queue. Thanks for reading xx
