Reviews for The Godfather
I'm really enjoying your story. How much of this chapter actually happened and which parts were the dream sequence?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Reality kicks in with the alarm clock right at the end.

tricky, tricky - getting me all riled up and then for it to just be a dream!

I love this chapter! This is so good! I didn't see a problem with the original title. This is okay too, but I had to giggle, thinking about Mario Puzo's THe Godfather! lol.Anyway, I am anxious to see how this is going to pan out between them. THe name of the chapter was brilliant!Livvy

Oh dear, you got me: I really did not think about Mario Puzo when I changed the title, but it occurred to me later on. I will stick to it, however, as it would look quite weird if I kept changing titles every few days.

i'm a little confused. I really liked the three different sections, but where's the connection?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Which connection? She lies in bed and has a really strange dream about what might have happened if she had followed Snape downstairs the evening before. Then she wakes up to the sound of her alarm clock and thinks about the dream, realizing something rather important.

I loved the dream! Very erotic, I certainly wouldn't mind having Severus pin me up against a wall.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
I found it a little creepy, as she clearly did not want this.

Actually, I thought 'Being the Godfather' was a perfectly acceptable title--but the new title didn't preclude my recognizing that this was the same fic...This chapter was a little confusing-I am left not knowing if it was all a wierd dream or if it really happened. I suppose it was meant to be a little ambiguous but my didactic brain likes clarity. Still engrossing though. I do think that perhaps the progression of Hermione's feelings is a bit rapid. She only realized that there was some kind of attraction between them at the very end of the last chapter and now she believes she loves him. In any case, I look forward to the next installment.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
It was supposed to be confusing. Be honest - wouldn't you have thought Snape capable of doing all those things she dreamed about?

What a way to come to that realization! Poor thing... Snape won't like this!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
He won't be bothered by things he does not know. I don't think she plans to tell him.

You got me! I had no inkling until the very last that this entire scene in the dungeon corridor was a dream. She's got it bad for Severus, and uneless I've missed the mark completely, he's got it bad for her as well.Great chapter. Please update soon?Beth

I must admit that I made some subtle changes in these last sentences to make it very clear that this is a dream. When I first read the original German chapter, I did not get it at all and was rather angry about Severus. AND everything is all right on the update front, the next chapter is already in the hands of ladyinthecloak. Should you get bored in the meantime, why not start reading my second translation project "Loving the Enemy" where one Lily Evans is trying to out-prank the Marauders?

Was it real or was it her dream?

Dream. Definitely.

This was quite a chapter. I was very surprised at the beginning, then very surprised at the end to discover it had been a dream. i am anxious to see how the story will evolve.

So am I - for other reasons, though. Marisol has just published chapter 26 of the German version...

That was quite intense. She has realized that you don't usually get to choose where your heart goes.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Yes, but that's lucky I guess. There's much to be said in favour of the German proverb "there's a lid for every pot"... ;-)

Poor Hermione. Poor Roger. Poor Roger's partner !
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Oh, I guess, Roger was quite the sportsman about it. After all, he has a great opportunity to make it up to his charming partner if he chooses to do so.
