Reviews for The Godfather
Why does Snape have to be such an ass. I'm hoping its not his intent. Sheesh. I'd like to see how he gets his way around this one. I hope Hermione doesn't forgive him so easily this time around.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, I guess it's "take him or leave him" just as he is.

Wow. I really loved that. I wonder if that was the first scene you thought of and worked your way towards it, because it is so powerful. I teared up. Lame, i know, but wow. Goosebumps...

I guess you ought to refrain from reading further chapters without handkerchief at the ready, my dear... It will take some time before it gets better.

I guess I am different than the rest, I didn't find Severus insulting and hurting Hermione to be "amusing" or a prank. I find him to be a bitter old man who enjoy hurting others, especailly Hermione who is one of the few who actually tries to treat him as a human being. Though I like your story and find your writing excellent, I will be deeply dissepointed if you let Hermione be so stupid and emptyheadded that she fell into Severus arms without him haveing to do some serious work to win her respect. I don't care how many issues Severus is supposed to have, and how everyone else should understand and accept that he can behave like other people don't have any feelings he should regard in any way, no woman should be so worthless that she should have to accept this behaviour.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
I agree wholeheartedly. But on the other hand, we would not have much to write about if Hermione did not have this "Mother Theresa" part of her personality that makes her come back for more ever so often.

Oh, my. They have thoroughly got under each other's skin. I enjoyed his prank, I must say; that was a masterful bit of deception. Great chapter! Looking forward to finding out if these two ever build a friendship (or more).

Well, if I had been in Hermione's place, I would probably have slapped him soundly and stormed off the scene...
Response from emmeline33 (Reviewer)
As would I, I think. More fun to read such things than experience them.

Oh yes, she does - and he does not like it one single bit! Quite the "I am cornered and bound to lash around blindly.

(sorry, hit the button too soon, here's the sequel to my response): ... " kind of behaviour.

What will happen to our Hermione and Severus? He cannot yet allow himself to be even slightly vulnerable. Pity that — but somehow or other, he will have to come to terms with Hermione's feelings, the ones she didn't want to think about (but I'm betting that is all she can think about).Great story! And thank you for making it possible for us English speakers to be able to enjoy it!!!Beth

Oh yes, you saw right through them. But as I said in the chapter sumary: this is a dance in the figurative sense. By the way: I have started translating another great piece of German FanFiction called "Loving the Enemy", the first chapter of which will be posted soon.... (not so subtle hint, I know)
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
I look forward to "Loving the Enemy," as well!!

Oh, the thought has now crossed her mind. She won't want to think it; of course, that means it is all she can think about.

I had to laugh, I know it's mean but Hermione just walked into being set up for a let down by Severus.

Exquisite! I'm certainly thinking about number two. Perfect Snape, admitting she lingers "like perfume in the air," and he doesn't like it! Too vulnerable!(Much more interesting than work this Friday afternoon)

A perfect "hit them before they hit you" attitude...

hUh. That was certainly interesting. I'm disappointed Snape didn't dance with her...that seems an opportunity wasted, even if he was only going to humiliate her...but it WAS in character for him, so I concede on that one. I liked the line about perfume...that's almost sensual. Good imagery there. Snape is such a frickin git! He needs to pull his head out of his arse before he requires a colonoscopy!

Well, I know one thing for sure: there will not be a colonoscopy any time soon ;-)

LOL. All right then. Let's hope he see's daylight sometime soon. :::smirks::::

Oh , I just love the way things are going , and the way Severus acted . O hope that he realize soon what he must do and win her over. I can wait for more.

Snape spinning Hermione around the dance floor is bound to cause an uproar!!!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Just wait and see who will roar (in the figurative sense, of course)... "Your place in queue is 4 for validation" the almighty headmistress says ;-)

I hope she can show that she really does know how to dance. I am just catching up with this story and I must say it is getting more and more interesting each chapter. Update soon.

Don't worry - the next chapter is slowly traveling along the beta line.

Now there is an interesting turn of events. Snape making physical contact first and not as a reaction. Could this lead to a shifting in their non-relationship? I look forward to finding out. Thanks for posting, JoAnne
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, he also made physical contact first when he invaded her mind, so I would not interpret too much into it.

that was like...velvet. You know when you rub it in one direction it is smooth and almost lulls you, but if you change direction it puts you on edge a little. Every scene had two distinctively different undercurrents. I loved it.

Very nice. I loved George's wedding it seems to fit his personality.

I agree. Must be some interesting wife he's got!

Great chapter, I enjoyed the public support from Harry and Hermione (as well as others) and loved the mental imagery of Rita's hair on fire.

I'm not that used to english litterature and Shakespeare in particular. So I guess Leontes Pearson is some penname for Hermione but heva no clue as to why she chose that name. Would you care to enlighten me on this please ?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
In Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale", Hermione is the wife of King Leontes.

Oups. After being so careful not to meet Snape for awhile... At least her intentions are good. Hope he will inderstand it quickly.

i'm so glad you decided to translate this story into english so a much wider audience (including me!) gets to enjoy it. it's really lovely. in this chapter, i liked the moment where the potters have little albus severus walk for severus. very touching. i liked all the rest of it, too - confession time! i look forward with anticipation to the next chapter.

Some of Dumbledore must have rubbed off on Snape. During the discussion about Rita's attempted interview and his reaction, his apparent nonchalance and faux innocence seemed very Dumbledorean, except for the malicious smile instead of the little twinkle. Very cute!
