Reviews for The Godfather
Oh, this was so beautiful! I teared up at the end, poor Severus! It seems he has a lot of healing to do before he can even think of opening himself up to others. Somehow, Albus Severus had already wormed his way into Severus' heart. This is such a beautiful story. Thanks to Marisol for writing it, and thanks, Muggline, for translating it!

Thank you for reviewing! Although I am the one who writes most answers, Marisol does have access to this account and reads your comments every now and then.
sugooooooooy

Ahem - sorry, but what language is this?
I just LOVE this story! My heart is all a flutter, but alas, I must wait untold weeks for the next chapter. Sigh...Muggline, please let Marisol know that she has my admiration and eternal gratitude for creating this masterpiece! And you also have my gratitude for taking the time to translate it. I know nothing about the German language. To think I could have missed this if it weren't for you. Thanks!

Ooooh, such flattery... Thank you! Since the next German chapter will be up, soon, I guess I'll have to make an effort here!
I hope, he takes more than friendship. He obviously loves her, and it seems it's making him sick holding in what he truly feels. Look forward to more.

It also seems that he is entering foreign ground here – no wonder he's treading very cautiously.
Perhaps someone like Severus should read Richard Bach. One book that might help is Bach's "Illusions". The story makes you realize life isn't always what it seems but so much more. There is real magic in the world not just in fiction.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
You make me want to read Richard Bach, too... (I remember reading 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' - German version - when I was a schoolgirl, but I can't remember what it was about).
It was nice to revisit Hogwarts. Some things never change and I think Hermione enjoyed the visit. Her run in with Severus was interesting. It was not surprising to see how broken and unsure of himself he is. Perhaps he will accept her offer of friendship and maybe someday he will feel good about that choice.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Perhaps...
Gosh, I don't know what to say. There is just so much more to this. I think he loves her. He's sick over it. I don't know. It seems so impossible, he's so destroyed inside. Livvy
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
I agree about his feelings, but the question is: does he recognize them? Or does he just not know why he feels so strange...
Sometimes the most significant of changes can be affected with the smallest of steps. Beautifully done.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Yes, it's kind of a "back to square one" situation here...
Oh, I welled up when Severus began to speak. The poor, dear man.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
I am sure that's what Hermione thought, too
"But I don't expect anything from you." -- Great line. Poor Snape, unable to distinguish between potential friends and potential manipulators, but who can blame him?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, he's very confused, it seems...
ah, it would be nice to see them start forging a real friendship upon which they could then build a relationship.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Oh yes.
Ooh, wonderful chappie, but for one accidental typo. You said simile instead of smile. Also, I'm curious, I never heard about that book or author. Interesting take on Severus as a lost man; quite a good spin! Hoping for updates :)
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Typo? OMG, have to correct it immediately! Thanks!
Ack! Too short!I haven't the faintest ability to read this in German, but it is gorgeously translated. And, I'm assuming, gorgeously written. My compliments to Marisol AND Muggline, and all the lovely beta team who go through the particularly difficult task of betaing!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Sorry, but I have to take it as I get it...Thanks for your review!
Yay! They made up, well, i hope!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, at least partly.
Great chapter! I loved the end - I hope Snape accepts her hand.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
He would be an idiot not to
Interesting will, I wonder if it will have to be changed at a later date?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, I don't know yet.
An angry Ginny must be a quite a sight. And not a person I would willingly make angrier. Maybe she can infuse some common sense in his little stubborn head.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
you will see... Chapter 26 has entered the beta process.
I really do enjoy this story. Once again Severus deserves both a hug and a slap, and I'm not sure which one he should get first!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Oh, may be he should be hugged and slapped repeatedly, kind of alternating ;-)
Hermione is lucky to have a friend in Ginny. I suspect she will be giving Severus what-for. I liked how Hermione fell apart a bit and how Ginny helped her get her act together. It was a bit of a window to peer into.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Yes, you are right. I guess the fact that she broke down like that also shows the deep feelings Hermione has for Snape. She would not lose it like that for everyone...
Go, Ginny, go. Go, go, go! I was so hoping she'd see something in Severus' reaction, and she did. It seems that our beloved Potions master is a bit worse for wear himself. Hopefully Ginny can knock some sense into him. I hope she brought a frying pan or something to bat him around with.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
*FG* no, she did not bring a frying pan. But I bet he'll feel as if she had hit him with one when she's gone...
Great story, please finish the translation
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
You bet! Marisol just announced on the German list that she has now completed the story at 33 chapters and will post it within the next few weeks.
Great story, please finish the translation
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
as I said - I will!
All right, Ginny, let him have it! I'm glad that he seems to be suffering for his actions. Maybe she won't have such a hard time convincing him to talk to Hermione.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
The question is - will Hermione want to talk to him?
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Reviewer)
Hmm. Good point. He was a bit of a jerk the last time she saw him, wasn't he?
Why is he pushing Hermione away? Doesn't look like he wants to.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Oh my, it's the old "I don't deserve anything because I'm evil incarnate" thing...
