It's just so well done - one impressive line, thougth and expression after the other. This one is among those I read several times, nodding: "But then he found himself hanging in mid-air, hexed with one of the spells he'd invented, by two young men who already had wealth and good looks and all the privileges those brought. They'd never gone hungry, or worn clothing pilfered from a washing-line, or tried to read cast-off books that were rotten with mildew."

Wow, that was a masterful blend.  The piglet was a nice touch, too.  I dislike Faulkner to the point that reading it before bed would knock me out (either that or annoy me wide awake--it's six or a half-dozen), that's well-chosen.  I also thought you handled the synopsis of so much OotP material very well.  Oh most excellent Fawkes, thanks for making my day!

This is an interesting story. The plot line is quite different from anything I've come across in fanfiction writing so far. I'm eager to see how the story will unfold.

Wonderful chapter.  I like what you wrote about Harry and if he'd only allowed himself to be sorted into Slytherin.  I've often wondered what would have happened had he gone the other way.
