Hermione wants to learn Occlumency, but Severus Snape is not known for his generous nature. Both may learn more than they bargained for before the tale ends.
This is canon-compliant with books 5 and 6 and provides a behind-the-scenes story that JKR never even guessed...

Someone who really, REALLY ought to be doing something else, but just keeps on writing.
Wondering why my stories take forever? Have a look at My Other Time Devourer: www.willametteartcenter.com I'm both the webmaster and the president of the Friends of the Visual Arts, a 501-C3 nonprofit in Salem, Oregon. We Put The Fun Back In Art.
Having 2 sweet little boys tends to drag things out too.
And what the heck, as long as it's self-pimpage time: If you just can't wait for the next chapter of Fair Ex, you can always go buy my book. It's not HP or fanfic but it's got that Fawkesy snark (in spades) It's here: www.turondo.com Warning: there's a bad word in the title.

Very amusing. Gives a whole new meaning to 'Pony play.'

Oh Holy Horses!!! I never saw this coming.

Cool! Wait'll you see what's next.
Hermione had better not find out that Severus was 'involved' with a 4 legged Hermione and other 4 legged friends whilst she was being cursed into oblivion in the Department of Mysteries... Will Severus feel guilty?Poor man, Voldemort finding it hilarious that he got laid multiple times. (Ol' Voldy laughing was a scary image...)Once again, more please.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Fair Exchanges)
Ah, but there was no 4-legged Hermione. The Dark Lord just got THIS CLOSE (holds fingers up very close together) to uncovering Snape's little secret. Fortunately, her name blended in so well with the others that he didn't recognize the significance.Which is why Snape could barely speak when he gave Voldy the 5th name...

*head desk* Ok, now I get it. It's obvious when I think about it. Just as well those centaura had greek names!
The last sentence was as chilling as the wind outside of my window. What will Hermione know about the Centaura's "antics"? Isn't it like betrayal?
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Fair Exchanges)
Well, think a minute. Do you suppose those girls would have let him leave the forest if he DIDN'T play along? *Eyebrow Raising Of Evil*
HAHAHA. LOVE IT!!! simply lovely, darling, lovely. Ol' voldy's reaction was smashing. <3

Yeah, I like writing Voldy. But he's less amusing than Snape.
When JKR wrote of the mob of centaurs in the Forbidden Forest, and that Delores was grabbed by Bane and dragged off by said centaurs; did anyone really wonder why it was that Umbridge ended up in the hospital wing looking a little wild-eyed and tousled with bits of twigs and leaves in her hair but no other visible signs of harm?
Anyone who has read Greek mythology should know that centaurs were notorious as rapists! Of course we also learned that there were no female centaurs ... but for Severus, what doesn't kill him could be fun.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Fair Exchanges)
Now, now, just because the Muggles who penned the myths never learned about the centaura doesn't mean that there are none!!
Gosh, I too always thought that the centaurs had had their wicked way with Umbridge in OotP ...but one thing I never thought about was the lady centaurs and how they might feel about that! What a naughty cliffhanger, to be sure. Mean of you to, um, just ride off like that, but guess I'll just have to be patient. I've really enjoyed this story, especially Snape's characterization in these most recent chapters.
Response from Fawkes_07 (Author of Fair Exchanges)
As far as cliffies go, I am evil incarnate. It'll only get worse, trust me.
omg... i never thought i'd see the day...i'm not into beastiality, but they're not really...hmm. i'm not quite sure what to make of this Centaur Cex. hahaha. jk. but three other pairs of hands...i cant stop reading.

Yeah this stimulated some discussion at Mugglenet with the mods. Fleur=Veela=not human. Remus=Werewolf=not human. Hagrid's mom=giant=not human. Interspecies dating seems to be rather common in the Wizard world. I say, ifa creature is sentient and can decide for itself whether it wants to participate, things are kosher.
Response from togspled (Reviewer)
Well, I for one have decided Centaurs are Cexy.
