I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.
Reviews for A Change is Going to Come
This story is getting more complicated with each chapter. It might have been easier being Harry Potter's friend than Lily Evans'.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, absolutely. Things will get even more dicey before it gets better. Thanks!Livvy
I like Hermione's strength in this story. True, she had a bit of a breakdown, but don't we all from time to time? She has a good head on her shoulders, and I think that's what makes this chapter shine.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! I hope you continue to like how Hermione shines under pressure as she gets older and the first war looms. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
that's our girl! i'm dying to see what happens down in the dungeon! thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yeah, Hermione is going to kick some Slytherin tail! Thanks!Livvy
i think that shows the abuser/ee relationship pretty well. i am glad she started to get better. great update. thanks so much

Yes, Eileen Snape will become a happier woman on her own. Thanks!Livvy
Woo Hoo! Enter Kingsley Shacklebolt! That's just awesome. I'm so glad Hermione finally had enough and went to bail out. I'm also happy to see Mr. Snape has been taken care of for the time being. I hope Eileen gets to have some peace and quiet for now. I'm also happy Hermione is back at Lily's where she can get a decent nights sleep. And I'm totally excited that she told Snape she's going to sock it to Dumbledore. What and idiot! I know I was ranting about that last chapter, but seriously. The man is supposed to know everything, why send her there! I hope he's got some decent answers. Bring on the next installment. Much Love ~Brena

Oh yes, Hermione will have her say with DD. Oh yes. Now, Severus and Hermione have something of their own and she will keep Snape's secret about his dad being such a sick fuck. It is his greatest shame to have that man as a father. But he's in jail-for now- *smiles evilly* and there will be peace in the valley for a time. Thanks,Livvy
Oh God. How scary! I knew what was coming...it was like watching a train wreck. You just know it's going to happen and its going to be gruesome...but you just can't look away. I'm so glad Snape is at least trying to help her, but sheesh what a piece of trash for a dad. I seriously would want to kill Dumbledore for sending me there for the holidays with a family like that! I hope she gets to give him a piece of her mind! I'm so glad that you've said this story is already completed, that way I know I won't have to wait long to see what happens! Much Love ~ Brena

Oh, yes. I will be updating as fast as I can. My betas are working their tails off as I speak! As for DD, he, like always, has his "Greater Good" tunnel vision. He sees Hermione someone to use to reach Snape and save him. He's such a user. My opinion of DD went WAY down after DH.Thanks,Livvy
Wow, Severus is creepy. I mean seriously. I love the man to death but his boy-self. Total Stalker. I don't know how Lily deals with that type of posessive behaviour. And my heart still goes out to Hermione. Being a third wheel sucks. And especially in a relationship like that. Its like you really need a friend but then you've got Snape to contend with. And you don't want to just give up on the friendship because of his behaviour either. Oh how tragic. I can't wait to see how Hermione and Severus come to have the relationship described in the first chapter. Much Love ~ Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
He-he! Oh, I so wish I could dish, but it would ruin everything. Just know things will continue to get complicated with all three of them. Thanks,Livvy
OMG. Poor Hermione! I totally know how she feels being alone in a new school and just wanting to go back to where she had friends. And that Sirius Black what a douche bag. Wonderful beginning to the back story hon. Keep it coming. ~Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it seems more realistic than the other TT stories where she is instantly loved and enfolded into Gryffindor House. Glad you're liking this! Thanks,Livvy
So, we meet again. I started reading this story just because I noticed you were the author. I usually like time-turner fics, but I noticed your name and was like "Oh! I've totally got to read this". Anyways, I love your plot here too. Too many times time-turner fics really bite-off one another. This is totally different. I love how you send her back in the beginning of 3rd year, so she really doesn't know a lot of whats supposed to happen or happens. Like how Wormtail is really the traitor. Anyways. I'm going to go review the other chapters and gush some more about how much I already am in love with this story. Cheers! ~Brena

Yea!!! Thank for all your kind words. I tell, it just hit me one day and it became this monster that frankly, was a pure joy to write and when I was finished, I had never felt sadder to say good-bye. SO I hope you like long rides, twists and turns, and shockers along the way, because you never will know what will happen around the corner:)Thanks,Livvy
{Takes a deep breath!} I don't think I breathed much during this chapter! I've never experienced this kind of abuse and regardless of 'needing my home', would never tolerate it. That aside, I can see that in just these few hours, Hermione has possibly changed the outcome of Snape's time-line! Muggle authorities arresting Tobias and that may affect his job status; Ministry Auror's stepping in, now HG's met KS. A possible job for Eileen. The question is - has she actually altered the time-line, or do things happen for a reason? That no matter what she does, in the long run everything that would have been before, will still be the way it's supposed to happen. Things may not happen exactly the way it did before she interfered, but the results will turn out the same way as originally.

This has to be the most indepth and thought-provoking review I have ever recieved. As I read, especially the last part, I thought, "What if she had changed the future but later on, the ending would have been the same, just the details or methods more gruesome than it had been previously? And yes, ABSOLUTELY, things happen and they cannot be undone or changed. There still will be the same outcomes, perhaps not as smoothly as they would have been, I think perhaps Hermione tapped into something inside Lily that was there all along, but sleeping. Hermione and Lily's relationship will continue to be a complex and confusing one as Lily continues to pursue Hermione much like how it mirrors her own relationship with Snape in various degrees. But yes, this incident, the attempted rape, the secret that Hermione will not talk about Severus' greatest shame- his father and his inability to stop him from abusing him and his mother, this will leave a mark on him that will soothe the child inside the wizard a bit. Hermione is already smoothing down the most jagged edges of his personality. They will never be smooth, but they will not be as cutting either. Thanks,Livvy
Everyone in this fic is totally messed up! Lol. Well, except for Hermione. I think you portrayed the mentality of those who are abused well. Between the fear and denial, there's little sympathy for anyone else. It was nice to see Mrs. Snape be a bit nicer at the end. It seems she may be healing a bit. Hopefully, she will continue down that road and not go back to Severus' father if he gets out of jail. As for Snape, git, git, git. It's like he has blinders on and can't see Lily for what she is, or anyone else for that matter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well, we all knew when it came to Lily, he was just an idiot for her. ANd no one is that perfect. You'll slowly see a shift in Snape and Hermione's relationship. It's not immediate, it's a relationship that will be built on trust and compassion. Thanks!Livvy
Oh my!I do wonder what will happen next!Poor 'Mione was having a tough time! And Mrs. Snape is an awful woman!Lol.Loving this!~ Angela
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Things will shift and change over time, people will grow up while others will remain rooted in their prejudices.Hope you continue to like the fic! Thanks,Livvy
Despite all that she still calls him "Snape" Mind you, in her mind I guess he is still her future professor!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I'm glad you caught that! THere will be a definate shift when she changes from "SNape" to "Severus" and it will not be unnoticed by someone in particular :)Thanks!Livvy
Severus' home life is nothing if not fearful. My heart broke for this proud young wizard who has so little power at this point in his life, and it sets the stage for his pursuit of POWER later on.Mrs Snape is a beaten woman, but perhaps with her new job and the assistance she will get from the Ministry, she will be able to become more self-assured and capable of defending herself and her child from the monster she had married.Hermione is as Gryffindor as usual, and her determination is probably what inspired Mrs Snape to take control of her own life.I'm glad you ended this on a happier note; it would have been too sad otherwise. Now I find myself wondering about a few things:a) What brought Kingsley to Spinner's End at that time?b) What will Hermione tell Dumbledore about Tobias?c) How will Severus' and Hermione's relationship proceed?d) How will Severus' and Lily's relationship proceed?e) What will happen to Tobias? And I'm sure you will answer all my questions in due time!Great chapter!Beth
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it is such a very sad situation and yes, Mrs. Snape will become more self-sufficent and happier with her job and not having Tobias around to abuse her. She and Hermione will develop their own relationship and will even send Hermione little parcels in the owl post, like mincemeat pies, for example.I thought, if the Ministry knows about underage magic being done, surely two broken wands at once would inform the Ministry. So that was my reason for Kingsley being there. Perhaps I should put an explanation in the author's notes about that. The next chapter will answer your question about Hermione and Dumbledore :)C,D,and especially E are GREAT questions. I can't tell you now, but you'll find out in due course :)Thanks!Livvy
This chaptor reminded me of a song by Martina Mcbide Concreat Angle, although in the song its a little girl. It is about abuse of a child, every time I hear it it makes me cry that some children have to withstand so much pain. Thats how I felt about Severus in this chapter. How can any parent treat their child so is beyond me. I was so mad at Severus's mother but I realized that she is just as much a victum as he was if not more. I'm glad you ended it on a more happier note. It was a very emotional chapter but so well written, great job. Can hardly wait for the next chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I'm glad you felt hopeful at the end. Yes, Mrs. Snape was so much a victim, but she will get stronger and be a happier person now that Tobias is in jail. The next chapter is in the queue. Thanks,Livvy
I think that I could never be a child welfare officer or a shelter worker for battered women as I would wonder what happened to make them so beaten down. Women are often made of sterner stuff, yet we break down too easy sometimes. Don't suppose you could have Snape's father's cell mate take a crack at him. . .
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, don't you worry. Old Tobias Snape will get his, trust me:)Thanks!Livvy
Will it do any good to tell Dumbledore? I'm surprised he didn't keep her close to him to see if any information would slip. Oh, well... Great chapter, as always.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, he is a sly one. He'll try again and again to get Hermione to spill info in that innocent way of his. I'm glad you liked it!Thanks,Livvy
I really like your interpretation of Snape's home life. I sort of admire Snape for surviving the terrors and understanding that I couldn't comprehend what he went through as a child. The story is SO intriguing! Severus and his interesting pride. I've been checking back daily to see when the new chapters arrive! Keep up the good work!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! I will have CHapter six up shortly. Now that Longing is done, I can focus just on this. Thanks! I'm glad you like my interpretations!Livvy
Tough Granger. I like her!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! You will see more of her like that as time goes on.Thanks!Livvy
AHHHHH LOVED THIS STORY SO MUCH! SUCH AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOSTER BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!
I'm a bit confused about his petulant behavior. Wasn't he celibate for 12 or so years before he could marry her? Why is he acting like not having sex with her is killing him when they lack emotional intimacy?
One of the best time turner fics I have read. It was wonderful and emotional! Thank you!!
I'm breathless just reading that! Good battle! :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! It took a lot of hard work. Glad you enjoyed it!Thanks,Livvy
Wow. I really enjoy the original version of these events, but I have to say that yours seems more exciting to me. I love a Hermione that kicks some ass. Harry is going to have a million questions that will not be fixed by a simple obliviate. I hope that he doesn't take it too badly. Really great chapter, although, did you have to leave us hanging?!?
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Sorry... there was too much. I had to leave it there. Nope all the hiding is over. Harry is going to know all about Hermione's past, as will everyone else. Thanks!Livvy
