I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.

Don't you just want to say, "Awww, Isn't that sweet!" But, I won't because Severus would just die! I love the way Hermione is managing enough maturity to keep them out of trouble, but not crush Sev's delicate ego.Still no indoor plumbing in the mid 1970's in inner-city row housing? And am curious if in England did the factories owned the housing that their workers lived in? That was common in the States for the "Company" to own everything and to not pay the workers enough to pay off their homes and get ahead, therefore keeping them under their thumbs all the time. Does anyone know?
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, the houses were for those who worked for the Mill or factory. Like in the states, from what I read. Spinner's end was abandoned except for the Snape's house. They were a poor family and it explains some of Snape's hygiene deficiencies. So that's how I chose to portray it.Thanks,Livvy
I think this is my favorite too.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks!Livvy
You know, I think I am in agreement with your author's note. I like this chapter as well, though of course for different reasons. The pacing was done very well. Hermione's patience in waiting for Severus by just being there for him came through in your writing.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you! I am so pleased you enjoyed it. This was an important chapter in their love story. The memory of that first kiss will sustain them and keep their feelings alive as they move forward into the unknown. Thanks!Livvy
I absolutely love this story. :) I really can't wait to see where this goes. As a Yankee living in the UK - I can tell you the attached houses you're referring to are terraced houses. And believe me...you can hear EVERYTHING in a terraced house. ;)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! SO it was really good then they didn't have sex! Although a nice Silencing Spell would have done the trick, but even that wouldn't have stopped Mrs. Snape's scrying! Thanks!Livvy
Very interesting depiction of the James and Lily characters, particularly Lily. I look forward to seeing how you gather all the threads together that you have laid out to bring together this fine story.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you, we still have a long way to go to resoving the Lily james and Hermione realtionship. Severus and Lily are now over for good. Thanks!Livvy
wow...his first wizards' oath (hers too). what a terrific update. thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yeah... that's a really big deal for what will come up. Those oaths will get through some hard times. Thanks,Livvy
So, it seems that Lily wants everyone's love, Snape's, Hermione's, James'. Unless it's inconvenient, of course. Psycho. She's so self-centered, she can't even take a moment to think of how everyone around her might be feeling. I just cringe every time she opens her mouth or does something. You've managed to make me dislike her even more than I had before.Very interesting and amazing oath. Can't wait to see the full implications of that.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, yes, the oaths will have implications allright. But they are all positive and will help Severus and Hermione through the hard times to come. Thanks!Livvy
In a story like this it is almost perverse for me to say that I am absolutely giddy to see what happens next... but I am ;)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! Good! I hope you remain that way. Nothing wrong about giddy in my book! Thanks,Livvy
It totally creeps me out the way Lily comes on to Hermione, attempting to use sexual manipulation to get what she wants. It would be bad enough if she was trying to get one of the guys to do her bidding by flirting or touching, but this kissing and caressing of Hermione is just a blatantly obvious attempt to control. Hermione needs to call her on it.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well, I think she made a good start by refusing her attentions. Believe me there will come a day when Lily and Hermione will finally have it out over their "sexual" relationship. Thanks,Livvy
OMG!! Livvy you live for angst don't you!? This is such a good story though I wonder how she will interact with herself when the timelines start coming together. Have you thought that far in advance or does the muse work a chapter at a time? PS, your beta and cheerleader are awesome people!! The world needs more of them in both RL and out.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Aww, thanks! My betas are the greastest! Actually, the story has been finished for a couple months now, at least. I am just having it beta'd. So yes, I have it all worked out! :)Yes, I do live for angst! It makes the lovely moments that much sweeter. Thanks!Livvy
I hope these oaths, don't effect the way they truly feel about one another. I hope it's nothing to do with magic. And Lily is just a silly little girl, I've always blamed her for Severus's death. I look forward to 'Spinners End' *winks*

Actually the presence of magic signifies the depth of their feeling. That they feel so strongly about what they say evokes magical energy is a powerful sign. It will continue to happen at pivitol moments and these promises and oaths will help them to remember to keep faith with each other during the hard times (to come). Thanks!Livvy
Now I am curious to learn what strange kind of magic they invoked with their promises... And James really surprised me.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, well we all knew James got more down to earth, as it were, once he deflated his huge ego. I wanted to show that James wasn't always going to be a childish prat. Oh, yes... the magic... that will happen every once in a great while when more promises and oaths are made. I hope you continue to enjoy the ride! Thanks,Livvy
Great chapter! Their bond is so strong and when they take an oath to say friends…I melted. It was truly touching! I can’t wait to see what happens during her stay at Spinner’s End. Hopefully, a little romance….
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I have a big grin on my face. The next chapter should be lovely for everyone and I am happy you liked how I am not rushing them into a relationship so soon. But yes, a little romance is around the corner :)Thanks!Livvy
Yikes! The fallout- poor Severus. And Lily isn't very understanding, now is she? Grrrr.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
No, Lily is a bit of a spoiled, pampered princess that is ungrateful and selfish. But no worries, Severus and Hermione have each other now. Thanks!Livvy
*sniff sniff*Tears blurring my vision...This was a very touching chapter, and I really feel for Hermione and Severus.I think it's lovely how you have slowly planted her in his heart too.I know Lily is merely a product of her environment, but I could totally slap her silly!Great writing! I eagerly await the next chapter!Angela~~xo.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks!!I wanted it to be like this-a slow building friendship that will turn into a great love that will last the decades and time-hopping. This is only the beginning of great things for Severus and Hermione. The next chapter will be HUGE!Thanks,Livvy
I'm ready for Lily to be in the background, at least as much as is possible. Poor Severus, poor Hermione and poor James.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well, at least not poor Hermione and Severus for long. The next chapter will bring some MAJOR changes :)Thanks!Livvy
I've gone off Lily now. :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! I think this chapter has done it for everyone now! Thanks,Livvy
Oh gads you make teh whole scene much worse than it was in the book. Oh, I'd like to box Avery. But why did Hermione stay with him and not go help as well? Why did she just stand on the sidelines watching? And what will happen if the Slytherins find out Severus has a friendship with Hermione? Won't they just switch their attention on her? I know Severus is being groomed by his fellow Slytherins to join the Dark Lord, but is this what Severus wants? He seems so like a pupet in a way.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
He is being used, but he has no choice. As Avery explained to Hermione, from the first day Severus came to Hogwarts and they tested his abilities, they knew he was a powerful wizard. Hermione tried to intervene, remember? But Avery put his wand at her throat and held her back, forcing her to watch. As for Hermione being targeted, that will be addressed in a later chapter. :)Thanks!Livvy

*shivers in anticipation* *and trying to wait patiently* *stilll waiting....*
It's so sad when a realtionship is cooling off. I feel for Severus but I know it's for the best - well it's going to happen anyway. Good for Hermione to smack him on for calling her a Mudblood. Maybe she'll get it in his thick head that it's not all right to call others that.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it was good that she did that and it also shows how different Hermione and Lily are. Severus will remember that.THanks,Livvy
This was a very good twist on that scene. Can't wait for the next!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you! THe next two chapters will be VERY interesting.Livvy
Ok, psycopath? Or anit social personality disorder if you prefer. The CLINICAL definition not the popular one. All right, all right I'll stop...for now, I really can't help myself. *blush*I really do love the complexity of the characters. I'm both surprised my Hermione's acceptance of Lily's manipulation of their relationship, and also not surprised since the girl only has 2 friends. It doens't seem like something she'd normally allow, but her need to have friends trumps her logic. Liliy's manipulation is rather obvious after all. I also understand Severus' obsession of Lily even if it's pathetic. She was his 1st and ONLY friend until Hermione and he quiet possibly confused it with love in his desperation to keep her. Actually both Hermione and Severus are rather pathetic when it comes to relationships...but then again why else would your Lily befriend them?
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I keep thinking how Ron said in SS "It's no wonder she hasn't got any friends!"Hermione's saving was in Harry's acceptance of her. I doubt Hermione would have had any real friend's at all if it hadn't been for Harry and Ron. THen, being best friends of the Boy Who Lived has its advantages (not that Hermione is a user, it just came with the friendship).YOu have to remember that Hermione was outright rejected by the two most popular people in her house: James and Sirius. Lily helped her out with her teeth when Sirius verbally attacked her and also really cared about her feelings being hurt. Then remember Hermione was almost raped at fourteen by a grown man. Lily's attentions were probably soothing and safe, it just has gotten out-of-control. She is in the middle of this hotbed of political dominance between Gryffindor and Slytherin. It just wouldn't be realistic to me if Hermione didn't allow someone take control for once. Lily is that person. SHe doesn't have to think or make decisions. She can turn her mind off and let Lily make her feel something pleasurable. But those days are ending. Hermione is older and the needs she had are going away as she is now able to handle them herself. You will see this at work with her relationship with Severus. She will not allow her heart to overcome her head and Severus will stand by decision. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Yay, I'm so happy with this chapter. So many great things have happened here that made me smile. I loved how Lily tried to use Hermione for comfort sexually and Hermione just got up. That was so great. I also love seeing how Lily's relationship with Severus is deteriorating. I know it's going to suck for him but she doesn't love him the way he should be loved and honestlly she's just using him and trying to turn him into what she wants him to be. I didn't realize I was a chapter behind! I'm going to go on to 11 now. Much Love ~ Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! I hope you like Chapter 11! In a couple of chapters things will change dramatically for Severus and Hermione. Thanks,Livvy
Interesting twist. I love how you got Hermione out of the action so she wasn't able to change things.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, Hermione doesn't want to risk totally changing her real timeline. She's still waiting for the Time-Turner that will help her to be developed. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
I always get so angry with that scene in OOTP, to be honest I hate anything that happens to Severus. I'm glad Hermione's there to help him, and I hope he realises soon that there is another muggle-born that can give him their heart.

Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, because what he needs the most is unconditional love and someone to understand him. THe next two chapters will be very interesting for Severus and Hermione. Thanks!Livvy
I never understood that semi-smirk from Lily. Why would a true friend do that? Once again Hermione shows herself to be so much better than Lily. We didn't see her smirking. She was rightly mortified. And she went right to Severus to comfort him as soon as she could.Brilliant idea to have the whole thing be a test. I also find it interesting that he'd been marked for the Death Eaters since his arrival at Hogwarts. Sirius is really despicable in this. Maybe you should pair HIM with Lily. They deserve each other. Yuck!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, yes. Sirius is definitly not a nice guy in this fic, but Lily will have to do some growing up and she'll do it, unfortunately, Hermione won't see it.Sirius and Lily *snort* That's classic! Thanks,Livvy
