Wow, what an interesting chapter! Looks like the breaking point might be coming near with Severus joining Voldemort, which will then cause a rift between himself and Lily. And it looks like he's aware of that as well. Oh well, at least he'll have Hermione lol!

Ginny's far better at observing than the shallow performance JKR allowed her. I think that's right--she did not end as the default victim for F&G, so she has to know to read people! Yea, Hermione being an adult, well trained witch is not what Severus is used to. Poor guy is on edge 24/7--yet, he cannot have everything his way. Wow, you promissed we'll see Severus crawling to Hermione, THAT's what I'm looking forward to.

Yes, Severus is wound so tight, he's about to lose his mind. But Hermione gave him food for thought before she kicked his sorry arse out the door. He will be repentant!

What an excellent way to insert the girls' talk and Tonks' problems with Remus!! Yes, this definitely sets this chapter apart from any other! I was shortly wondering if Molly would reveal anything about her and Arthur, but maybe she has more sense than I have?

I have a feeling Molly got to Arthur before he could think for himself. Either that or he is so in love he couldn't bear to be without her. I'd like to think the latter :)
Severus seemed way over the top, but if he took the unbreakable vow to help Draco, as he did in canon, then he is in a bad spot. Very interesting.

That he did. He is under pressures that Hermione couldn't even imagine. Severus really over-reacted, but Hermione gave him some things to think about. He'll have to accept that he can't keep her safe, and she is capable of helping herself.Thanks!Livvy

Oh no! I didn't think it would be that bad of a reaction from Severus, I know he has his point about wanting to keep Hermione safe but Hermione has one too. If they want her they will get her. I do hope they manage to sort this out.

Things are going to start moving along with Hermione and her relationships with Severus and Hermione. It's also going to get harder as they get into their sixth and seventh years, Hermione trying to maintain a balance as a diplomat of sorts between Slytherin and Gryffindor as the war grows closer to breaking out and the birth of the Order of the Phoenix.I hope you will like these next three chapters!Thanks!Livvy
Your words have fed my perplexity about Lily Evans Potter. Was she really “all that”, or was she a gold-digger, willing to use anyone to get where she wanted to be?
It isn't canon as it was a line in the movie, PoA, but Lupin comments to Harry that Lily had been a very friendly girl. I always wondered if they were trying to imply that she was promiscuous. With that in mind, and your portrayal of Lily, has me wondering, if Severus had been able to show Lily the amount of [overwhelming] attention that she required, if she might have remained with Severus and not sought out the more consuming attention that James was willing to adorn her with. If Lupin had been a bit more aggressive in his friendship with Lily, she might have graced him with her ‘presents’, also… maybe she did! I don’t think she would ever have had a relationship with Sirius; there was too much competition there to be the most adored person in the room.
Lily seems to have been a fulltime job to maintain. Severus was only one person and unable to devote his every waking moment to coddling her. James on the other hand, had comrades that could pinch-hit, with their own adoration of James, to do anything to procure what James wanted.
Ever curious to see where you take the story next.

Oh good lord! I thiought that maybe he'd escape this path and choose another! So, Malfoy is the one who introduced Sev to the Dark Lord.I was a little put off by the expirmentation between Lily and Hermione, why is Lily so into touching Hermione? it's like she's bi.

I wish I could explain about Lily, but it will all become clear later. Yes, Hermione doesn't want to disturb her timeline. She's still waiting for when the Time-Tuner she needs is created. I wanted to wait, but I'll tell you now that I will have a chapter dedicated for you. I had asked about soemthing specific when I was writing this story and you replied with such enthusiasm, I was inspired to do what you suggested. You will know when the chapter comes. Indeed it does. It's so heartbreaking that he sees this as the only way to protect Lily, and now Hermione too. (What a nice surprise.) Lily misses Severus so much, yet she's all over Hermione. That doesn't really show a high level of devotion on her part. (I'm surprised... really... not)Loved that little bit of vulnerability with Severus to Hermione. It's nice to see that friendship cementing. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next time!

Lily is a spoiled child, protected by Severus, coddled by her parents as the "good" daughter. She has never had to grow because growth only comes when pain intrudes into your life. She will have to grow, of course, as the war begins.Thanks!Livvy

Severus is so in love with Lily, and she doesn't deserve it.Hermione is doing the best she can to help Severus and not upset her own time.Sirius is just plain mean.And James... is James.This chapter gave a good indication of just what a tough road Severus will have to walk all because Lily is such a user. Their relationship is the most pure and healthy relationship Severus has ever had. He craves Lily, wants her, lusts for her, but he is starting to feel something for Hermione that is purely altrustic and loving, but not as Harry loves Hermione like a sister, a spark is there. I doubt they are even aware of it being there or at least don't want to admit it - yet!Thanks!Livvy

Is this the calm before the storm. You can feel the friendship between Lily and Hermione takeing a turn but I'm not sure if its for better or worse. Hermione's and Severus friendship is turning for the better. Can't wait for the next chapter.
