Very well done. I can imagine that this was difficult to write, but I think you got it right. I am glad that you had Severus tell Hermione about the Unbreakable Vow. Keeping something that important from her would have been quite a beach of trust. Keep up the good work. I love your story!

WOw... great chapter. I'm not done reading yet, but I have a question. You have Severus say that a Horcrux can be destroyed by goblin-wrought metal. Did you mean for this to be different from canon? I thought that the reason that the sword of Gryffindor was able to destroy the Horcruxes in DH was because it had absorbed the basilisk venom when Harry used it to kill the basilisk (gobin-wrought metal absorbs substances that strengthen it).

What happened! We went from a fun time out on the town, a little kiss and walking along innocent-like, holding hands to dark magic, mayhem and death. These poor kids don't even have the time to react to one thing before something else happens. The crap thing about murder/suicides is you never get to ask why the one thought it was better to kill themselves and leave loved ones behind. I can see where Eilene thought she was protecting Severus by killing Tobias, and I know some women think they love their abusive spouse so much that they can't live without them [bah], but at this point you'd think she'd seen what life with her son could be like and would want to stay with him and help him become a better man than his father proved to be.Ah well, our dear Severus has lessons to learn...

There was no way Eileen was going to leave her home, as the Ministry suggested, and there there was no way that Tobias would have let her alone. That man was pure wickedness. She knew him enough that he would have never let her live her life now that she had turned on him and put him in jail. He would have killed her, so she decided to do it on her terms. There was no way she would escape Azkaban for premeditated murder. She didn't want that for her son to live with, so she figured a fresh start with Hermione and no psychotic father or a murdered mother ( or one in Azkaban) to haunt him would be best.Thanks!Livvy

Oh, wonderful! This story has been featured. Very well deserved. Another satisfying chapter, through and through. I think Avery is becoming my favorite character in this. I love the way you are writing him. Do I see some type of competition for Hermione's attentions? Avery would make for a twisted love triangle... not that SS/LE/HG isn't twisted enough!

OMG, how sad. I guess you could see it coming but, I just didn't want to. They had such a wonderfule night together and then Wham! And Avery, Blech. What a creepy dude, I'm so glad Hermione didn't go with them over there. It was also nice to see Severus understand her reasons for not wanting to go. I was totally afraid that he was going to guilt trip her into staying with him. I'm glad Dumbledore is going to teach her Occlumency and that he's trying to convince her that she's already messed up her time line, so why worry. Seriously she's been there too long to not have changed stuff, she needs to accept that. Anyways I'm going to stop rambling. Can't wait to see what happens next. Much Love ~ Brena

Wow...great chapter. I love the fact that Hermione is sure that she and Severus aren't ready for the next step. I hope Lily and James don't get killed too soon. That would be a bit of a downer.

As much as I'm a fan of the story - it bothers the hell out of me, when Hermione acts soap opera all over: "It’s just we’re not ready for that step, and we would be making love for all the wrong reasons..." I mean, the kid is how old ? 16/17 ?:D Really really, I like the story, but such dialouges are...brrrrrrr. Romance novel - bad ones.

Well, Hermione has had the experience with Lily and she doesn't want to make the same mistake over again. I was trying to make her sound responsible and having learned from her mistakes. Oh, she has really made a mess of things. Head of Gruffindor, the interest of Voldemort, Occulmency with Dumbledore - who'd love to know what she knows! From what I can tell - she's already messed with Severus - he won't be the same, and Avery is curious about her. Hmmm

Wonderful chapter! I just keep telling myself to remember the oaths they made. I truly have faith that they will have a happy ending, but please tell me that there will be a few sweet moments between them. It kills me to think that it’s going to be all angst and not a little bit of loving – just a tiny bit?

Oh, rest assured, there is going to be some very hot and steamy sex later on down the road. I can't give an angst fest without some sexual gratification. It will be frustrating for both of them because things are going to be difficult at school, but I'll have some smutty moments, but all stemming from the deep love and respect they have for each other. So glad to hear that, and the fact that they share such strong feelings of commitment and respect, in my opinion, only further sweetens the (smutty) moments they will share, plus it’s hot as hell = at least in my book it is. Fidelity is a huge turn on! Plus, I’m glad to see that Hermione isn’t a tease like Lily.
Great last line. It seems that they won't be happy for a while... if ever(?) Hermione is really stuck between a rock and a hard place. I didn't guess that daddy dearest would come and ruin everything. I just thought Eileen had some incurable disease. It's truly started things up, hasn't it?

LOL! I am at the mercy of my beta. She can only do a chapter a week now and that is the waiting time for TPP, so I get these chapters in the queue as fast as I can. I wonder if I tried doing one with just my one beta. I'll have to see sometime. I wish I could put the whole friggin' story on all at once! I don't think I was expecting a murder/suicide. Somehow it all seems to fit, even if it makes it all so complicated. I'm sad Hermione and Severus are being separated... I cannot wait to see what happens next!

It will be even more important to remember the oaths they made. Their love will continue to be tested these next two years and then will be graduation, and then we know what happens in CHapter 1 that Hermione goes into hiding. It's going to be difficult, but they will survive it.Thanks!Livvy
