Hermione is right, Remus does need a swift kick in the pants. I'm enjoying all the relationships that are developing. The obvious is Remus and Tonks, but there is a bond of sisterhood developing between Tonks, Hermione and Molly.All in all, nice job.

I've just read the first 8 chapters of this. Your story is very well written. I like how you're developing your characters, as they all seem like real, imperfect people who all have strengths and weaknesses. Knowing what happens in JKR's books makes your story even more interesting, as you're doing an amazing job of tying it together and yet writing something original.Love your story so far and can't wait to read more.

Gawain Robards was pretty rough on Hermione at her interview, but she handled it well. She has been through so much I think it would take a lot more than the newly installed Head of the Auror Department to scare her. The best part for Hermione was that Tonks made her think about what she would do if she were to have to arrest Severus. The answer she gave Tonks made it clear that she would arrest him, but later when Tonks told her that they were being posted to Hogwarts, she teased Hermione that she might see Severus, "might get a good shag at the end of the day." I hope Hermione and Severus will be able to steal some time to be together. How hard it would be to be so close and not be able to see each other!
Tonks and Remus are going through a rough spot in their relationship, but I agree with Molly and Hermione that she should say something to him about sending those mixed signals. I hope the two of them will be able to move to a more intimate relationship. Somewhere, some how, Remus needs to get past his fear of allowing someone to love and care for him.
And last but not least, I'm looking forward to Hermione learning to fly a broom— proficiently. I'll bet she will have some hair raising moments, but I'm sure she will have her "big girl knickers" on.

I'm really curious as to how you play out the next 4 years. The Hermione we see in the first chapter has quite a bit of life experience. I need to go back and check her age, but does this happen after Hogwarts?

Yes, Hermione would be around 22 during the first chapter. Her birthday is September and it was the end of the month, so she just had her 22 birthday. A lot of detail will go inot her remaining years, she will graduate in 1978 with the rest of her class. So, this accidential meeting with Snape in September of 1981 is after they have left Hogwarts and also have not seen each other for 3 years - Hermione goes into hiding in Muggle London as explained in the first chapter during the first war. Later on in the story, there will be hard feelings towards her for not fighting in the war (when she reappears on November 1, 1981- the day after the Potters are killed.) There will be a lot of discussion about that.Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
One thing that keeps sticking out to me is how completely one dimensional Lily is. OMG its always Black or White with her! I cant't wait to see the complete demise of her relationship with Severus because she doesn't deserve him! Stupid wench. Anyways great Chapter Dear! Well, in the end it seems it's all about her. She bestows her charms on those she wills and then when she cannot control the person, she justs dumps them. DH showed me that.
