I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.
Reviews for A Change is Going to Come
Excellently written, so in character, and a great twist of canon... your story is addictive. But you've received this feedback already 11 times. What could I add? I'm specially disappointed with Charlie. I had hoped that he and Bill could be mediators, having known Severus and Hermione before, but still being the same generation as Harry, Ron and Ginny. Nothing Minerva can say would convince teeenagers... Hermione could Harry tell about his mum, if he only listened. Your Arthur would then not insist on the ridiculous identification ritual? That's a relief! I'm dead worried about Severus; please do not let him despair!

Thanks! I still enjoy the praise. It's been a long story and we still have less than twenty chapters left :)I chose Charlie because of he not being around them a whole a lot and someone has to play the hothead from the Weasley family (it's always Ron, I wanted a change. Thanks!Livvy
I WANT MORE NOW!!!! Please, I love your brilliant writing style. You've developed the characters so realisticly and I love your perfect balance between verbouseness and graceful understatements. I, as a reader, NEED you to update as quickly as humanly possible. I think I shall go mad if I am forced to wait another day for the next chapter. KEEP WRITING!!

The chapter is in the queue :) I'll have it up as soon as possible! Thanks!Livvy
Harry cannot be told the truth about his godfather, but he is certainly going out of his way to "put the clues together" so he can continue to think the worst of Severus. On second thought, perhaps it is to Severus' advantage that Harry and company think the worst about him and Hermione. Maybe it will help to mitigate the retribution that the Dark Lord will surely visit on the Potions master.
The situation being what it is, I'm grateful that Hermione and Severus had that one beautiful and passionate night together. Memories of that night and of the hopes and dreams for their future will have to stand them in good stead until Severus can return. I hope he will not be too badly punished, but I hate to think of the horrors Voldemort will have in store for him.
Kingsley seemed less than impressed with Rufus Scrimgeour as Fudge's replacement. Inflexible is not adjective that would make me have faith in the new Minister of Magic. To defeat Voldemort, somebody had better be thinking "outside the box."
I felt bad for Hermione as she sat in the Order meeting at the Burrow and had to listen to the unkind things that were being said about her and her husband. They were uncalled for, and I'm glad that Minerva and Remus came to their defense. I think her decision to train with Tonks this summer to become an Auror is a good one. It would be the best way to stay busy at a task that she knows will help defeat Voldemort. I just wonder what Severus will think when he hears about it.
Thanks for this great update!Beth

Keeping their dreams and plans alive helps Severus and Hermione to keep being strong. It's really going to be increasingly hard for Hermione, but they will find ways to sneak off together :)Thanks!Livvy
Wonderful chapter! Poor Hermione. . seems like just when you think things will settle down for her something else happens. I enjoy reading this story, and I await with anticipation for every chapter! Keep up the excellent work. :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it. Yes, it's going to be really hard for them and worse as time goes by, but they will make it through. Thanks!Livvy
Very exciting... it's always fun when canon goes boom!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! Thanks!Livvy
Wow...this is really getting intriguing. I'm glad that Hermione no longer has to live a double life, but I'm sad about how Harry, Ron and Ginny treated her.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Hermione will get her friendship with Ron and Ginny back on track. Unfortunately, things between she and Harry will only get worse. Thanks!Livvy
Great chapter. Loved when Severus and Hermione spoke about what they wanted in the future, they'll fight for it!! And show those who don't trust them!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
That is what keeps them going despite all the disappointments they have faced. Their love is too strong to be destroyed by time and distance. Thanks!Livvy
I guess a lot of the Order would all be suspicious of Hermione and Severus, especially those who haven't known them all along. The kids' reactions were predictable, but hopefully once they have thought about things a while they may come round. :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, Ron and Ginny will come around. Unfortunately, Harry will continue to distrust Hermione and it will come to a point that will become deadly. Thanks!Livvy
Wow, so much is happening - some good - some bad. Harry and the gang are being prats but what's new eh? I just want Hermione to get pregnant already. you've brought up kids several times... just have her get pregnant after her auror training.... Please? OR AT LEAST BEFORE THE EPILOGE - have it be part of the story please - if I were the writer of this story A) it wouldn't be nearly as good, B) it wouldn't be nearly as long (thanks for you're ability to write forever hehe and C) I would have to story go on FOREVER - through their lives, their childs lives - etc. etc... I wouldn't know how to let it end... I'm SO addicted to this story it's pathetic lmao
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
OHHH! Pregnancy! You are the first to bring that up. I cannot say a word about it. It is too much of a spoiler. But you are on track with thinking about babies. Thanks!Livvy
Response from Lioness Rampant (Reviewer)
You sort of just gave me my answer - THANK YOU =D
Oh, I loved this chapter. I think it worked nicely that Hermione was not the one to tell her friends her real story, and we didn't have to sit through it. We just get their reactions after it has had a brief chance to soak in. The response from Harry and the others is to be expected. They are just kids, and that is quite a revelation thrown their way. Hopefully the summer apart will give them some perspective.I'm pleased that Hermione was able to keep her mouth shut on the subject of Sirius, despite the goading from Harry. It is really not the right time for him to learn of that. Maybe there never will be a right time.I enjoyed them talking about their future together. On the other hand, it makes his absence and what they both must endure in the months ahead much harder, knowing what life could mean for them. My heart just breaks for them, having experienced more pain so far than anyone should have to in an entire lifetime. At least she has folks like Minerva, Molly, Arthur, and Lupin on her side. Poor, poor Severus :(
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
There was really no "good" way for Hermione's life secret to come out. Neither will be her secret about Sirius... and Harry will have a lot to say about that. But Severus has people on his side. The older ones in the Order know that he is being punished and is still faithful to DD. It will get harder through in later chapters. Thanks!Livvy
Poor Hermione, she give everyone her all and when she needs the support the most her friends turn their backs on her. I hope her and Severus come thru this and have all the babies they want. I can't wait for your updates. This has been a wonderful story to follow.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Your review is very interesting. friends turning away, not knowing who to trust or to turn... it's going to get really tough for Hermione. Thanks!Livvy
Absolutely, gloriously magnificent. The last chapter took my breath away. This one stole it completely. Shock after marvelous shock. You make me FEEL every bit of it. Thank you.~Mia
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, I am glad. I love that feeling when I read something and I feel I'm right there with the characters :) Less than 20 chapters! I hope you keep enjoying as I take the next twists and turns. Thanks!Livvy
This is the second time I've read this story and it is the best time turner story I've ever read. I'm so glad you are still updating this story.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you! It's easier to post when you have it all written. Less than 20 chapters now. I can't believe it!Thanks for your kind words.Happy Holidays!Livvy
This battle was breathtaking, Livvy. One of the best I've ever read. The details you wrote were so involved, yet I never once felt lost.
When Lucius recognized Hermione and began to talk about her knowing Harry's parents, and Severus taking her to meet Voldemort, the circumstances changed astronomically. Hermione will have to explain who she is and where she came from. Severus, Hermione, Dumbledore, McGonagoll, Moody, Lupin– all will be brought into the conrtoversy as having withheld information.
Does Voldemort know what Lucius said? If so, I imagine he will have some especially wicked consequences in store for Severus if the Potions master cannot convince him that everything Lucius and Bellatrix said was a lie. I'm afraid for Severus and Hermione. What will happen to them? What happened to Hermione after she has passed out on the dais?
How will Harry react to Sirius' death? Will he find out that his godfather raped Hermione? Will he remember his Obliviated memories of seeing Snape and Hermoine together? All these things will make Harry very unsure of himself and who he can trust.
This is such a mess, and I can't wait to see how you work all this out. Great writing, BTW!Beth
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks!Hermione's past life will all be revealed, but what happened between her and Sirius will not be known until a while later. Hermione and Harry's relationship will become very strained from this point on. You'll see as the chapters go by. No, Harry won't remember his memories taken from him, but he will be very angry that Hermione didn't tell him about her marriage. There is a lot more drama to come, and yes, Severus has a great deal to answer to for Hermione fighting against the Death Eaters when he had sworn to Voldemort she was on his side as he had wanted back when they were kids in the 70's.Thanks!Livvy
This chapter was so exciting! So very enjoyable and Hermione certainly has a lot of explaining to do.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh yes, and it's not going to be easy for some to accept, either. Thanks!Livvy
wow! that was way more exciting than jkr's. thanks and christmas and holiday smoochies
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks, darlin'! I appreciate that. Merry Christmas to you :)Livvy
Awesome chapter, livvy! Very exciting, and the reveal was perfect! There'll be lots of 'splainin' to do after all this is over! Hopefully, it'll be all right and no one else will die.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
There will be a difficult period for Severus and Hermione. Another forced separation by Voldemort, and this time Severus will not be able to have any say in what decisions she will make about her life without him. Eek! Then Harry and Hermione will have to come to terms with the truth-or at least almost all of it. :)Thanks!Livvy
Wooow!! What an exciting chapter. I think Severus is going to want to kill Lucius.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well he will have to wait until he gets out of Azkaban :) But yes, Severus will be very angry. Thanks!Livvy
Oh my, what a chapter! The battle was amazing, I couldn't stop reading! But now will come the repercussions, I can't wait to read more!! :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it will be a huge shock for those who didn't know. Next chapter will deal with that. Thanks!Livvy
Oohh... great chapter! Wonderful interpretation of the battle... Severus is not going to be happy when he finds out...
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yeah, well, he's going to have to suck it up. Now that it's all out now, there will be consequences. It'll be explained in the following chapters. Thanks!Livvy
EEEEEEEEEEEEKS!!!!! OMG, this is an exciting chapter. I suppose the Order will have to modify the students' memories and the Death Eaters' memories too, so that Severus is still safe in his role. Poor Severus, with Hermione disabled and him stuck at school without Dumbles and Minerva. BTW, I didn't see anything about Hermione leading Umbridge to the centaurs; is Umbridge still safe at Hogwarts? Thanks for the new chapter!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Umbridge will be removed because Fudge will fall out of favor with the Death Eaters being rounded up and the fact that Voldemort is back. This is all from Hermione's POV so we don't see what happened after she lost consciousness.Snape is safe since he didn't fight in the battle. But there is the problem of he and Hermione being married and what Voldy wants to do about that. No, there will be no Obliviates or anything. The kitty is out of the bag. Everyone will know about Hermione's real past. The next chapter will deal with all that. Thanks!Livvy
Best damn chapter ever. My goodness, I am breathless and shaky just from reading this marvelously glorious scene. I want to own it. So very shatteringly beautiful. Thank you.~Mia
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
*blushes* Thanks! I'm glad you liked it so much :)Thanks!Livvy
Wow. Makes sense that Severus would cling to his side of the bed knowing what he's experiencing with the Death Eaters. I'm glad he told Hermione about it.Amazing story.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you. I just couldn't imagine the work he does as a spy would not affect his marriage. Thanks!Livvy
Great story! I love it so far! Update soon!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you very much. Will do!Livvy
Too many Obliviates makes Harry a dull boy... Oh, wait, wrong movie. LOL, it seems like he turns around and Poof... no more memory!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Two Obliviates won't hurt his memory. It isn't going to happen again. He'll be fine. Very soon Hermione's and Severus' secret will be revealed. Thanks!Livvy
