This chapter seems more sad than the last one, if that's possible.  Coming to terms with the loss of a child is such a hard thing to do.  Your emotions are all over the place, and nothing seems to matter any more.  I'm thankful that Andromeda and Tonks are there for Hermione and able to be a steady and certain support for her.The way the Death Eaters have been terrorizing the Wizarding populous is exactly what I would expect from the likes of Voldemort's supporters.  I liked that you had Scrimgeour losing his life defending Harry's whereabouts.  The way you incorporate canon into the story is very well written.I hope Hermione will soon get news of Severus, something to ease her heart and answer her questions about why he is doing the things he is.  On the face of it, it seems that he is doing little to protect the students, but in truth I think he is doing all that he can while still maintaining his cover as one of the Dark Lord's most faithful.  Hopefully soon everything will be sorted, the Dark Lord will be dead, and Severus and Hermione can be together again.  It's sad that Serena was lost to them before he even knew he was to be a father.Great chapter, with lots of heart-tugging, lingering fear, and hope.  Good job!Beth

One brilliant mind to another- really, she and Severus were so different but similarly brilliant.  Should she be surprised that Dumbledore and Grindelwald had an analogous connection? Sad, reminiscent of Anne Frank's Diary (I'm sure intentionally), but interesting anyhow.  I feel so sorry for her, even if she IS fictional.  Poor dear.

Eeps.  I hope Ted Tonks still has his two companions and that they're able to get food somehow, even if Andromeda has to leave it in a tree or other hiding place.  I am glad she told Tonks and Andromeda that Severus didn't kill Dumbledore by choice, but that should be a reminder to Hermione that perhaps the whole Headmaster thing is part of the plan as well, to protect the students.  Come on, Hermione -- think about your husband's loyalties!  At least Herms has the Tonks family, whereas Severus is alone.  Will keep fingers crossed for the next chapter.  Thank you for updating!

Whoa.  This is quite a tough chapter.  Well, I'm disappointed in Dean taking advantage of Hermione and hope he doesn't betray her out of spite for her refusing him.  I didn't expect Serena to die, and am glad the whole Tonks family is supportive of Hermione.  No way for the guys to find more food even in Muggle areas?  No streams with fish?  I like this bunch of guys and goblins and hope they all survive.  Thanks for the update!

Wow, this was hard stuff, Livvy!And Hermione without the possibility to contact Severus. He even does not know about her pregnancy and its failure! I can't imagine how they'll bear this tragedy, but I hope, you'll help them through... somehow. Thank you for writing :)

SADDDD! I was pulling for hermione AND the baby to be okay. Dirk should change his name to dirt because that is how he treated hermione like. All this added stress could have been avoided if at least someone had backed up her story about what sirius did to hermione.( I am the number 1 fan of the i hate harry club) My only sense of satisfaction is that harry will not have hermione's help. Oh my. Dirk was a complete arse!  Dean was a sweet as could be and I liked Ted. I'm really sorry Hermione's baby died. But with all that's going on, understandable.

You truly manage to load Hermione with more problems in every chapter! Do have mercy with her!The Forest of Dean lets me hope...Is Harry about to change his mind? Well, he's darn late, isn't he? At least he has to find  less Horcruxes than canon-Harry. Why would Hermione need Galleons? She cannot be seen in any wizard place. She's better off at a Muggle grocer. And she should visit an outdoor shop! Another great chapter of a fantastic story!

Yikes!  Yay for Tonks for being supportive, and the neighbor for helping Hermione.  I think she might be safer in the Muggle world but with lots of wards; if she goes to Diagon Alley, Voldy's peeps might catch her.  No way to let Severus know she's okay?  Scary!  Thanks for updating.

OMG ok so i have been following this fic and i have to say that i love it.... you write severus sooo well...... i love the name for her daughter its mine as well... i wonder if severus will able to make contact with hermione while she is on the run

Wow! Things are beyond intense at this point. Poor Hermione! Not only is she pregnant and on the run, but she has no idea where her husband is and her parents are now dead. I can only imagine that Severus is feeling the same - alone, desperate, and utterly sad without his other half. Hopefully, these two will reunite soon, and he can finally know about Serena. Great story, it's kind of sad to hear that only nine chapters are left, but I can't wait to get to that final chapter so that Hermione and Severus finally get their happy ending. I can't think of two people who deserve it more than they do.
