Severus Snape has always been my fav character since I found HP. I enjoy dark, graphic stories, but will read some fluff and I love humour.
Happy to be in Slytherin house.

Whoa, you are definitely in siriuslysnogged territory. She is the Queen of terror as far as I am concerned. This freaked me out, but I still read it. Your Severus is conflicted and he is an interesting study--from very far away.

Holy crap...holy crap...holy crap. Wow, that was intense. Was effective in completely shocking me.... wow. My fault, I was sufficiently warned, and couldn't help myself. Oh well. I'm still going to read your story though. Disturbingly good.
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
Holy Crap! I know, very intense--you should have seen me writing it! lol. I was sweating! heheheheh. Ah, you couldn't resist the warnings and had to do it anyway, well I'm glad you did that. thank you so much for the review!
Fucking hell. That was some awful torture. I understand your reasoning for including it, I really do. It was just very hard to read. It's interesting that, for all his abuse of Hermione, Severus seems to harbor a real affection for her. It will be interesting to see what happens with Jezzie. I'm still curious about Severus' loyalties. Lots of mystery! Another well-written chapter.
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
OMG. You crack me up. "Fucking Hell" Thank you for reading it though, because you can't ignore the real DE. this is what must have gone on, I think... they are some twisted fucks. And yeah, he does really have an affection for her--it's just taking him a little longer to figure that out, but you'll see in the next chapter. Oh, Jezzie... heheheheheh... Still glad you aren't sure which side Severus is on, hopefully that will keep up for a while. Thank you again for your wonderful review and support! *hugs*
Response from emmeline33 (Reviewer)
Twisted fucks, indeed! The most terrifying aspect about the Muggle-baiting incident at the World Quidditch Tournament (or whatever it was called) in Book 4 was that you know it was just a prelude. I think you've hit the nail on the head, no doubt about it! (Now that I've heard your wicked little giggle, I'm even more intrigued.) :) *hugs*
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
Wow you are so right! I totally forgot about the Muggle incident! Damn, you are good. And yeah, that was in PUBLIC! No telling what they did in private--and omg, look at that teacher that in book 7 floats above the table! Shit. See--she was writing for a 'younger' audience. I'm not. I'm going to tell you how it is. I'm so glad you pointed that out. Thank you.
And my wicked little giggle *snickers* I swear, I'm getting the best compliments this week. Pythia_delphi said I was sexy, sultry and somewhat scary. and now I have a wicked giggle...
I may start blushing. thanks!

No, he does not want anything to do with Jezzie... he only saved her because she is Hermione's cousin and he don't want Hermione mad at him...Hopefully you will get through the next chapter, it isn't so bad... well, I think that, so maybe it is. lol.*hugs*

This gives us some insight into where Severus' gets his twisted thinking and his behavior towards Hermione. You can't be around this kind of sick stuff and not have some of it rubb off. Very quick thinking on his part to save Jezebel, but it makes me wonder if perhaps he shouldn't be more vigilant about who's watching him. Thanks for the update.
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
Yes, he does get SOME of his twisted behavior from here, more about that will be revealed later though...Thank you for understanding this chapter and reviewing. :)

Okay, I read it bu was so bogged down by the violence I don't think I got what I was supossed to get from the chapter. Was this to turn Snape away from his violent tendencies towards Hermione? Why Jezzie?Livvy
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
The point was that even he had to turn away from the violence, that he is changing somewhat. That he saved the girl, because of Hermione, because she is her cousin. He could have let them kill her, but in his quick thinking, he put her to good use and didn't let her die. Because, what would Hermione do if she ever found out that her cousin was killed. Was killed while he watched. She would never forgive him and he doesn't want Hermione hating him. Also, he made a comparison to one of the victims' eyes--they reminded him of Hermione. He is realzing that he would never want to hurt Hermione in that way. So yes, it was to show that at a normal DE revel, something he is very used to, something changed in him. He couldn't turn his back from the dead women at the end either, he could have left them there, but somthing was irking him, he cleaned up the mess, put one of the victims out of her misery, and buried them. This was unusal for him. Something in him is changing, so that were the points of the chapter. Sorry you couldn't understand that... I guess I didn't make it clear enough. :(
Response from livvy6 (Reviewer)
Now that you mention it, that was something that stuck with me, that he was looking out for her eyes. That he was thinking he would never let them do to Hermione what they did to those girls. I guess I was still really hung up on what happened at the Grotto to think of him being able to really change his mind. It will really be interesting to see what will happen with Jezzie now. I'm so glad he Obliviated her! She doesn't need those memories! Thanks for clearing that up :)Livvy

I admit that this chapter still squicks me! But I think that you should be commended for showing us the real evil that goes on within the DE community. To believe that this sort of thing never happened would be to lie to oneself.
However, I am miffed that RedSky maintained a stiff upper lip when I had issues! Not that it's a competition, mind you. :)
Author's Response:
Thank you for your support. Yes, this is the ugly truths of DE--and if people choose to ignore it, well... then bad things start happening (Fudge ignoring DD about Voldy)

Holy f**k! That flashback-attack scene was intense. Okay, question/speculation time. One, Snape doesn't know that Hermione is having flashbacks and that his obliviates aren't holding. When she figures it out, and it seems like it will be sooner rather than later, what story will he give? Will Hermione go to Dumbledore with this? And if she does, what will Dumbledore do?Two, along with the Grotto, can Phinaes also see what goes on in Snape's chambers?Three, during her flashback, Hermione saw Voldemort's eyes while looking at Snape. Hum. Is Voldemort somehow controlling him? Maybe an Imperius variation? Okay. You don't have to respond to this given that these questions will be answered as your story progresses. Still, it's fun to guess where the plot is going. Two more things. One, the pregnancy issue. How careful is Snape in hiding his tracks? Two, assuming that Snape is being controlled by Voldemort but is resisting to a certain extent (i.e. the softer moments when Snape is truly touched by Hermione's kindness), what will he do when he realizes all that he's inflicted upon Hermione? Very Jeckel and Hyde of you.
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
WOW! Jeckel and Hyde... that's a first and so very awesome. Thank you. heheheheh.Love your speculations, I'm giggling over here. You are touching on some good points, however I have to say, that thing with Voldy is very clever, but not in this story. Maybe the next dark!fic I write. I really hope the next chapter will start to answer SOME of those questions, I know the chapter after that totally will. Thanks for the guessing game! lol. And since you told me I didn't have to answer any of them, I won't. hehehehe. Thanks for your reviews.

That was one freakingly bad, screamingly bad nightmare!!! At the end of the dream sequence, my first thought was "Did Snape really rape her? Or was that just part of the nightmare?"I know that the way Snape is portrayed in this story is very dark. Yet from time to time, I sense a vulnerable side of him coming to the fore. I know he is still manipulative and selfish enough to go after what he wants, the gods be damned, but he does have moments when he is thoroughly blown away that Hermione wanted to kiss him, that she took such tender care of him after he was attacked by Fenrir and Lestrange. He had sensed desire in her when she saw him naked and aroused, and he'd felt .... hope?Yes, he did trick her into promising to be his and only his, and he did take terrible advantage of her drugged state in the Grotto — you know what? I'm having a hard time letting go of my favorite Severus, the one who hides a heart of gold beneath a callous shell. I still hope he shows up, full of remorse and begging her to give him a chance... erm, another chance.Fenrir and Lestrange are a couple of nasty pieces of work, and I can't help but wonder if they are going to try to hurt Snape again during the Death Eater revel you alluded to at the end of this chapter. Or maybe it will be Snape who gets even. Humm........You have a wonderful talent that grows more and more polished with each chapter. In fact, when I got an email telling me your story had been updated, I went back to the beginning and started over before I even looked at this chapter. This is such a delicious tale that I wanted to give myself a nice present, and reading from the start was the way to do this story justice. You go, girl!BethPS- 100 Points to your House.

Judas Priest, woman! What next? I read that earlier review about hoping Scrabble isn't what really goes on at a DE reve? Well, after reading this...I hope a nice game of shoots and ladders will be the highlight of the night! Now, I do evil Snape, I can take it. Please just don't let him remain a GHB popping rapist in training! What got me was last chapters thought of "no one loving him" like he can't believe anyone would want him and this is what he has to do to get love- very Phantom of the Opera. AND SHE PROMISED HIM! This is not good. Not good! But, I like it. :)Livvy

And you are going to start to see what is 'too much' for Severus Snape in the next chapter.ANd I am SO glad you caught onto the 'no one loving him' part, because it is VITAL to the story... which you will see in a few chapters.Oh, ps. that Promise will come back into play. Many many hugs, my dear. Shell~

Holy hell SSL that was some nightmare! I am glad she finally woke up. I wonder was that what her mind told her was happening when she was in the grotto? Snape’s excuse for why she was naked with so very weak I cannot believe she fell for it. If she had not been flustered I am sure she would have shouted “bullshit!” Can I assume that Phineas was peeking at the grotto? Snide two dimensional voyeur. Scrabble better not be what really happens at a DE revel. Promise me.
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
It's Molly!!! hehehehehe.Holy hell is right. lol. The drug and wine he used in the Grotto made her have that nightmare, PLUS the oblivates, the missing memories were coming back because the drugs were so powerful that it messed with her mind, bringing those missing memories up. Although she just thinks it was a dream.Yes, she woke up naked and felt frightened... yeah, she wasn't thinking straight. Of course, if you or I woke up naked in Snape's bed... well... hehehehe...No scrabble. That's Lulabelle72. lol. DE revel... well, it's wicked stuff. Thanks for your support my dear.

Absolutely harrowing chapter. Very good work, but it scares me--so much of this story does.
And Phineas Black does nothing to make me feel better about things!
But I think your closing statement--"Find out what really happens at a Death Eater revel," is probably scarier.
Did Snape actually rape her while she was in his bed? Or did she really just dream that? *shudders*
Author's Response: Scares you? Shit. It scares ME. And I know what happens! hahahah.
Oh PB is an arse isn't he? Blame that on Meg. I love her potrayal of him.
I'm glad you mentioned the closing statement, I hope it helps for the next chapter. *crosses fingers*
Now, about this "Did Snape actually rape her" Well... you've hit a sore spot with me. Honestly, I had planned something for that, but then I figured that she would never be able to 'forgive' him if he had. However, I have a missing scene to this chapter, that I might make into a one shot... just to creep the fuck out of people.
Thank you for your support, even though it's SO AU. heheheheheh.
I have been completely hypnotized by this story. I usually preserve Severus a little less on the evil side, but I'm intrigued and wondering what is going on with him. I'm impressed with the way you've built and maintained the suspense of this story.

Love the story! Just in case I wasn't clear about that. And I meant "prefer" instead of preserve, which makes absolutely no sense, obviously. Some of us even need betas to review. Anyway, really and truly, impressive story.

Seriously, I'd be lost in a dirt hole if it weren't for my beta team. lol. And you can ask Lariope this... "Can Shell spell?" The answer is hell. no. lol. My point, I totally got what you were trying to say. hehehehe.Thank you, again.

wants Snape to realize he doesn't need to do all that creepy stuff to be with her! I guess his self-hatred prevents him from letting himself think others could ever care for him?Great read!

I wonder if Hermione's TLC will modify Snape's plans for her? This was hilarious:This must be a fucking dream. No… I’m dead. This is my afterlife. Oh, god, she’s pulling my trousers down. Yes! No--cold water, Madam Pince, lemon drops, a sunny day, cold water, her hand around my dick--fuck! Well done!

Excellent chapter! I'm enjoying being creeped out (for now! lol!)I thought this was so clever of you: “So, this is how James, Sirius, Remus and Peter created the map. And I’m sure they added their own special touches to it, such as a locating charm for each person who entered onto the grounds. What they forgot to do was show magical locations as my map does!”I also loved the fact that Snape kissed Jezzie's hand instead of just shaking it! Slytherin tactics indeed!Great job my dear Shell!
Response from shellsnapeluver (Author of Consuming Me)
Ah, the creation of the map... lol. I always seem to have to have reasons for things, like how Harry got his name in TT. bwhahahah.Yes, he kissed her hand. He IS a gentleman. A very devious one. lol.Thank you for reading this, I'm thrilled that all my girls can joining me on this crazy ride.

Wow! This is very dark but extremely well written my dear! I am so intrigued as to how this is all going to unfold. This gave me chills: Step one of Breaking Miss Granger is well underway. Devastating N.E.W.T scores? Check. Isolating her with me during the days so that I can destroy her mind? Checks.I've always thought that the detruction of the mind was as scary (if not scarier) than physical destruction.I'm very curious to see what happens next, your dark Snape is so very well portrayed but so very disturbing at the same time.Very well done!!!

I agree, a body can heal... for the most part... but once a mind is gone, well then, you are buggered.Thank you for saying it's distrurbing, to me, that is a compliment. I only hope I can hold up to that by the end of this.

Hi Again,LB72's advice was sound ... chapter headings and distinct chapter summaries are much more intriguing to the reader. They also help us to remember what happened last chapter when stories are posted serially (don't always have time to look at previous chatper to recall where the story was). I would expect that they might help the writer keep track of what's important as well, though I wouldn't know as I'm not a fiction writer. So, thanks for providing them.RR

Oh, I feel soooo important right now to have 2 reviews from you! heheheheThank you for saying something about the chapter titles and summaries--you're the first. I am really glad I took that extra step and started labeling them. And you are right, it helps me too remember which chapters is which.

Hey SSL,Naughty Severus! And an idiot too, so sure that she won't want him that he tricks her. If Herimone ever finds out about it, it won't go over well, will it? And likely ruin all his little plans. And so sad, because she had just started to really see him and trust him. I like the way the story is developing -- more interesting than the usual Evil!Severus (Tries To) Dominate Hermione, what with Severus' insecurities, unacknowledged (to himself) feelings and almost endearing sneakiness. As many reviewers noted about Lulabelle's AUM, this is a Severus that one shouldn't get involved with in real life, but is fun to read about.Red Roo

Hi RR,Thanks for such a great review! Yeah, she is starting to trust in him... and it is kinda sad. Oh, yes, he is very different than LB72's Severus...But don't be too harsh on him, he has some redemtive qualites, just wait till we get to the really dark chapter coming up soon.
Many hugs,
Shell~
