Severus Snape has always been my fav character since I found HP. I enjoy dark, graphic stories, but will read some fluff and I love humour.
Happy to be in Slytherin house.

I guess my biggest question is why didn't Severus warn the Order about the French school's location being revealed? Great chapter with plenty of things to grab the reader's interest without being overwhelming.

I've been working on reading through this story for a few days, and just finished. What can I say? This is by far one of the creepiest 'dark' fics I've read. I love your ambiguous take on Severus-- leaves us readers slightly conflicted on what to think about him (or at least me)-- which is difficult considering how much I love him, lol! But I also think that you are developing his character wonderfully-- basically I adore your ability to probe the psychological depths of Severus Snape. Though I am, of course, hoping for a happy ending! Though I'm uncertain what Hermione will do once (if) Snape tells her. *gulps* Wonderful!

Oh, you are not the only one who is conflicted about Snape--that is my point. I want you feeling that way till the end. You are too sweet. I do love 'probing' the depths of him. I'm writing a chapter that is touching on some of his childhood again... and it is pretty distrubing, which really helps make him who he is today. Another great chapter. I think Severus is getting over his head and wonder if Hermione will forgive him once she finds out what he's done with her cousin. Looking forward to finding out what happens next.

You are right--he is getting over his head. But also remember, that Hermioen isn't perfect either. She has done some things that she shouldn't have... So, hopefully that will help in her forgiveness...thank you so much for reviewing, I really enjoying reading them.

Another great chapter, I'm really anxious to see what happens next. Normally I have some sense of the direction a story will take, but this Snape is so complicated and the situation is so dark, that I don't feel confident making predictions even to myself.

I had forgotten about Jezzie (didn't get to leave a review for the last chapter.) I know Hermione can be forgiving but I'm sure she will feel very betrayed when she puts it together. I see the hurt coming for both of them and I feel like I just want to hide behind something while reading this so not to get hit by any stray hexes, curses or jinx. Great update!

Such a fantastic chapter! The bathtub scene is simply hot, hot, hot, and I don't think I've ever seen one like that before! Sorry I'm just getting around to reading this here, but I'm kind of glad it is today--what a delicious thing to read early on in the day!
But unsettling moments, for sure. And he can be tipped into jealousy or insecurity just like that *snaps fingers*.

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, I wanted something different for their next lemons! And, as I was IN my bathtub, the idea sprang to my mind. Because I have touched on a LOT of fears in this story, and now one of them, is fear of drowning. So, whoever has that fear, would be more "eeccck!" over that scene... just like with the flying... I was whimpering. lol.
Oh, yes, very easily "tipped" to that dark side of him... we shall see more of that VERY soon...

What an awesome chapter! I was so relieved when I realized what Severus had done... all in the name of taking care of Hermione. Their "relaxing bath" was just what the doctor ordered. And it was HAWT!So now that they have stayed the night together in Severus' private quarters at Hogwarts, what will Dumbledore do when he finds out? What will Jezzie say or do when Hermioine spills the beans? And why does Hermione insist on telling her cousin about all the secret stuff... like spells and ancient Egyptian books and magical necklaces...? She's supposed to be smarter than that. I know that Severus knows she tells Jezzie all kinds of things that she shouldn't, but will the vow of obedience he extracted from Jezzie allow him to minimize the chances that the Death Eaters and Voldemort will discover what he and Hermione have been up to in Egypt?Like any great chapter, you have answered some of my questions and left me with more questions still — like what really pissed off old Voldy...I'm lovin' it!Beth

Wow, this Story is absolutly awesome!!!I´ve finally catched up. Perhaps I can now do some real work again. You´ve got me totaly hooked!!!!I´ve never seen a Severuscharacterisation like this!!! It´s really dark AND he is not just a poor abused creature at Dumbledores und Voldemorts mercy, but a strong angry wizard, that has only one weak point in Hermione. He ist the quintessential Slytherin. I like that.I wonder ... Will it really be harry that defeat Voldemort with his own strength or will Severus orchestrate the whole thing?This battle scene was just breathtaking. I really loved Dumbledores Animagus. *ggg* You can seldomly find battlescenes this inspirated in the Fandom and then not with Dumbledore.Well I´ll stop rambling for now.Please don´t let me wait for long for the next chapter.

Awesome! This is the way I see Severus. A very powerful wizard that's been trained to within an inch of perfection by two of the strongest wizards of his lifetime, and not the pathetic Snivellus that the naysayers claim him to be under a thin layer of cruelty. Of course, circumstances beyond Sev's control had him go off a little bit there, but he was provoked. It’s not his fault. I would have hoped that Hermione had enough faith in Severus that she would see past what happened because of the book/Horcrux, now that she's away from it, and would have turned right around and Apparated back to Hogwarts. But, her trust in Dumbledore and curiosity will have her go through that cute little cottage door. I'm guessing that once she unlocks the door, steps in and shuts it behind her that she will be stuck there. As for the Horcrux, just how far reaching is its influence? It seems a bit more invasive than even the locket was. It seems to have intelligence to it, whereas the locket oozed Darkness like a poison. Will it continue to affect Severus, who has been near it the longest, or once contained or destroyed will it cease to be a factor? Will it affect Hermione or Dumbledore, as they both touched it?
Oh Arthur would admonish them all for falling for this thing!

Keep your faith in Hermione, I mean, after all, she IS a just a girl who has fallen deeply inlove and has been hurt but... yes, there is a but... just keep your faith. And you got it, once she steps inside--that's it! lol.
Yes, this Horcrux does have 'a mind of it's own' and I'm thinkin that it does because of the factors behind it. I feel this was a partically stong horcrux, made by a killing that partically powerful. And plus, it is inside a book, which is the symblol of 'intelligence' so, I think it should be a stronger horcrux than, the ring, for instance.
I think the effect it has over Severus is always going to be buried deep inside him. I mean, he exposed himself to it for MANY years.
