Reviews for The Godfather
I'm glad to see that Severus hasn't lost his wit. He's not that disagreeable, it seems, just withdrawn from society, though his "relationship" with the Potters will probably put him in contact with other beings a bit more.
Wonderful story, wonderful translation. I'm so impressed by this first chapter. Thank you for writing it, MArisol and thank you, Muggline, for translating it.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, thank you for thanking Marisol. She has access to my account and is reading all of your reviews. And she has been thrilled by the response we are getting so far!
Great chapter...I hope Snape reconsiders.
A great first chapter. Looking forward to reading more.
I can't imagine what a task translating something like this would be. Can't wait to read more!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, I am a professional translator, you know. Although I usually translate INTO German (as this is my mother tongue) I have been looking forward to some "literary translation" project for a long time. I usually do economy, fiancial reports and such and they do get boring after a while, although they are well paid. As I have not had the chance to get a contract for translating literature, I chose to apply my talents here...
Response from EmiGirl (Reviewer)
Yes, I can see where that would get boring. I, for one, am thankful that you decided to apply them in this way.
I love Slytherin Hermione. Not very fair for Severus, but the only way to get him do what she wants.
Excellent start.....
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, there are 21 more chapters in the pipeline and Marisol has not even finished the story yet...
Yea! J.K.R. is thwarted again! I think Harry was brassy to ask Severus to be godfather, but I like the idea, how fitting!
An intriguing start. Poor Severus, so neglected and bitter. How will he respond to Hermione?I've bookmarked.
Oohh...playing the Lily card...very slick. Very intriguing beginning. Can't wait for more.
Very interesting start, I like the idea of Severus being some part of Albus Severus life. (Though I have more issues about Albus being part of his name, Dumbledore was an manipulative old bastard, no matter how much he was on the "rigth" side of the war.)Please say that since you have made Severus still alive, that Hermione is still Hermoine Granger, not Granger-Weasley or just Weasley. Just the thougth of Ron being anything more than a friend makes my skin crawl, I hate that pairing:-)Update again soon!
I have been staying away from post DH fics because I was disappointed in the book in general, but decided to give this a read anyway. I think it will be a good story and look forward to the next chapter. Great start.
Very nice and intriguing beginning! I'm looking forward to reading more.
oh can't wait!
Harry has always been a little hot-headed, but I don't think Snape would have reacted well to the child's name if he had heard it from Harry.
I wonder how this will bring about a relationship between Hermione and Severus. Perhaps she is the godmother of Albus Severus Potter? Hopefully Severus will decide to get out of his house more . . . or at least decide to spend more time with people. I'm sure Hermione wouldn't mind talking with him. :)I like the preface of your story. I'm quite looking forward to what comes next. I have a feeling that Severus will decide to become the godfather, but I'm not sure how he'll go about accepting the position. Maybe owling a letter? That way he wouldn't have to see Harry again right away.
this is such a different start for a story, I will look forward to more.
Wonderful beginning to this story that looks like it has great promise. Even with such a short scene, I like the way you have portrayed Hermione already. I look forward to your next chapter. Thanks for posting, JoAnne
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
you will not be deceived - the original has 22 chapters already and I decided to translate it because I thought that such wonderful material ought to be brought to the largest audience possible. Marisol is a writer with a huge potential when it comes to the psychological insights into characters and their interaction (forgive me if this sounds weird, but I am German, after all...)
Response from JoKK2 (Reviewer)
Not to worry, that made perfect sense to me. Thanks for passing on a good story.
Hermione has struck a chord here. You've picked my curiosity. I bookmark the story.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
wow - what an honour to get my first review from you... I read almost all of _your_ stories and I loved every single one of them...
Response from septentrion (Reviewer)
What a flattering answer *blush* thank you very much.
Al is a lucky boy to have such godparents. As for his housing, I think only time and the Sorting Hat can tell...
I'm trying very hard to be patient for the next chapter... you're going to have it soon, right? Please? This is the best HG/SS story I've ever read... please?
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
it is already in the making (beta stage). Maybe I will be able to post it before Christmas.
Hermione the lonely spinster, etc.? Well not for long, I hope.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
well, this is a rather slow paced story...

Karma points for Hermione! "Persistence" really is her first name. Miracles do happen. And the thought of a man (esp. Snape) with an infant in his arms just makes me *melt*. Thank you for translating this story. I know I never would have read it if it wasn't in an English version. I hope to see more stories with your collaboration in future.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
ah, someone new who found our story! Thanks for reviewing. And yes, there is another one (although I am concentrating on finishing this one first). It's called "Loving the Enemy".

Intriguing, promising start! I'm bookmarking this.
