I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.

Another great chapter!!! More!!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
As soon as I can! I promise.Thanks!Livvy
WOW. I have to admit I like it so much better when you are showing your own scenes, going around what happened in the book instead of rehashing it. I like the private moments, Hermione's thoughts and her talks iwth Severus, Dumbledore, Minerva even Sirius. I whish you'd move through the canon faster and hint rather than reshow. But I can def feel Hermione's angst.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Very soon. The next chapter will be the last. Then it will all start to change again. Thanks!Livvy
It's about freaking time, Hermione!!!! At last.....I'm not trying to be insensitive, Hermione. I have faced physical and emotional domestic violence throughout my childhood and teen years and had a lot of control issues as a young woman. I did marry the kindest, most gentle man I had ever met because I knew he would never try to control me that way or disrespect me. I suppose I was quite the bitch in my early years, just to make sure he never even thought about it. But, I never felt afraid. I felt angry, but not afraid. After a few years my husband had proved he would never be that person so I let up on him. Severus has spent many many years proving to Hermione he would never physically or sexually abuse her. He worships her and has always been her best friend for longer than she was alive before they got together. I don't understand her having trust issues with him. I guess I'm just an emotional clod. I guess you'd have to be there to really understand.

It isn't about how wonderful your husband is. It's about the feelings of fear and panic that stays with you until you work it out. Hermione has been suffering with PTSD. She is terrified to have intercourse. She is afraid (even if it's irrational) if she can;t go through with it, Severus will be angry with her. Rape is all about power and control and when you make love, you are relinquishing your control and power to your partner and vice versa. But for a rape victim, having faced the stripping away of those things, it really makes you feel vulnerable. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Sirius won....He took Hermione away from Severus. I've never been raped. So I can't say I understand. Perhaps Hermione should put those memories in a pensive. Severus needs her. She's always there for everyone else. She is all he has ever had. What if he decided he was just too traumatized to go back to Voldemort? He wouldn't. He knows he can't. He has to stop Voldemort. Hermione has to stop Voldemort. Severus needs her to do this. She needs to get counseling or something. I don't like this. It's the worst part of the story so far. They've made it though everything else. He has be so physically traumatized, but has kept himself for her. Hermione has told him to "suck it up" when his mark burned him when she said Voldemort's name. On some level, for the greater good, she needs to figure out how to suck it up or get to work on fixing herself. She wouldn't let anyone else behave this way.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Hermione is angry and feels Severus' frustration and anger. But she sees how much Severus places his need for sex and to her, it's a whine about not getting laid when there are more important devastations she's dealing with. She thinks he is being selfish and needs him to be the strong one emotionally, instead of the other way around. Because Snape doesn't communicate with her, about who his anger is directed, Hermione takes it on herself and believes her husband doesn't understand and doesn't want to understand her pain. She lashed out since the Mark burning was not a new experience. On the other hand, Hermione's trauma is etched deep inside. She needs her husband to open up and tell her everything he is feeling. It may be unrealistic, but Hermione is plain running scared and is growing more and more angry and bitter. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
I disliked the Goblet of Fire movie the most because Hermione was always acting like she was on her period the entire movie. She really got on my nerves. This story will make the movie something I can enjoy from now on. if all of this stuff had been going on behind the scenes of course she would be an emotional wreck. Especially so close to the end her enforced absence from Severus. I know I've said this before, but, poor Severus. He has it the worst, seconded by Sirius. Snape has to be a stinking death eater and face Voldemort again. Sirius did pay, though. At least Severus had Hermione as a teen, hopes for the future with her and didn't have to go to Azkaban. I'm guessing that Severus doesn't really have any hope right now, though. He's afraid Voldemort will come back and he won't live to see Hermione turn 16, I'm guessing.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
There is a great deal of the "unknown". It is extremely nerve-wracking and everyday Hermione's limits are tested. The same for Severus. It is a dangerous time at Hogwarts and Harry still doesn't make anything easier. Knowing what Hermione knows about the fake Moody and can't out him yet is nearly more than her nerves can take. There is a feeling of a race for time, exactly as you said, "will he live to she her turn 16?"Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Good story! Lot's of liberties taken with the stories we already know, but the changes are refreshing. Hope to hear more from you, Livvy.
It is lovely to see them just living and loving without a war on.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes! Finally :)Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
An emotional chapter near the end. It doesn't help that my hormones are completely out of control. Perimenopause is driving me insane. I watched Goblet of Fire tonight and Cedric's father's reaction to Cedric's death had me crying. Something that doesn't usually phase me. That's okay. I like a good cry over something fictional.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh, I always get choked up at that part. It was so very well-acted. I'm glad you liked the chapter! Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
I think being a parent probably makes that even more devastating. I thought about my husband's best friend who was killed in a boating accident at age 32. I thought about my own kids. But for some reason that particular scene doesn't usually choke me up. Then again, pretty much everything HP seems to choke me up now. I really enjoyed the books. We went to the Harry Potter Exhibition in Boston in February and I had to fight my emotions through much of it. Walked around the corner into the exibition and seeing a life sized Hogwarts Express model just floored me but with both kids with me I had to take a deep breath and get it together.I got to see Snape's robes very close up. I had a good look at all those buttons, I can tell you. ROFL.Miriam
That was alot to catch up on :) Enjoyed the lemons and catching up with this story. Still enjoying it and hope that things can work out for them in the end. thanks very much for writing
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
It's going to be tense. Next couple of chapters will be the end and Moody's imposter will be found out. Then we'll diverge from canon and go on a totally differnent route. Thanks!Livvy
Seems that Hermione and Sirius are getting along... better. But Severus is hot and cold with insecurity. Must be tiresome for Hernmione, and she loves him so much. When will the angst end, Livvy?
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Not much longer. Remember to keep in mind Chapter 45! It's the big one everyone has been waiting for! Thanks!Livvy
Hermione has not yet put together that Rita Skeeter is an Animagus or that the real Alister Moody is not the DADA Professor. She suspects that something is very much off about Moody, but she's not quite figured out what.Severus is having a difficult time with all the trouble that Rita's articles are stirring up, but I was glad to see Hermione challenge his behavior. Spending the night together in his quarters was something they both needed very badly.I''m glad that Harry, Hermione, and Ron got a chance to talk with Sirius about Crouch, Winky, Ludo Bagman, Moody, and Karkaroff. Little by little the clues are beginning to fall in place, and sooner or later, the truth will out. The biggest question I have right now is what was in the note Sirius gave to Hermione. Excellent chapter, Livvy!Beth
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, the relationship between Sirius and Hermione is something to watch for. Hermione soon will figure Moody out. Thanks,Livvy
I wish Hermione would figure out Moody.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
lol! She will-soon! I promise!Thanks,Livvy
You're not a Percy hater are you? Well if you are just don't have them but anyone we love in Azkaban!!!
Great chapter as always, keep it up =)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Not a hater, just keepin' with canon on that one. And no one is going to Azkaban except those who are bad! lol! Thanks!Livvy
This is the life we've all wanted for Severus and Hermione and were afraid they might never have. They really have survived more sadness and horror than anyone should have to.I love the names they gave their children and the wonderful lives they built for themselves. The joy in their lives today is what all of us would hope for, and as I think back to that moment in the record shop, I can still imagine them listening to Elvis Presley singing I Can't Help Falling in Love With You, and Severus kissing her for the very first time. *sigh*Severus' cracked me up with his spoken thoughts about Savion's need to take over his own personal playground. If the truth were known, I think there would be a lot more men admitting to similar feelings... and taking the same solution to that same problem. And now here they are living their dream. "The love between Severus and Hermione had never died during all those years of separation and pain. At times it had been challenged and questioned, but in spite of everything, it thrived."This has been one of the best epic SSHG fics I've had the pleasure to read. I appreciate your dedication to sticking with this story, and I can only imagine the amount of work it has taken. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving the us the grand tour of all the emotions that Severus and Hermione would have had to cope with over all these years. You are a gifted author, Livvy, and I am (sadly) looking forward to YOUR epilogue with glee. I would love to read any kind of a sequel you might ever choose to write. I would be delighted to do whatever I could to make that happen, although I don't know what I could do because you already have a fabulous support team of alphas and betas. But I'd do anything I could.A Thousand Points to Your House, and lots of hugs,Beth
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the chapter. After so much dreaming and waiting, I wanted to make it just right. I hope the epilogue will be worth waiting for. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
omg, i loved this chapter ---- TELL ME THERE WILL BE A SEQUEL?!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well, I guess that depends how everyone likes the final chapter. I would have to have help with ideas about how to go about it. I'll consider it. I'm glad you liked the chapter :)Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Great chapter!!! So, what's in the note??
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Ah! Right to the point-I like that. Next chapter. And I hope you keep your radar up. Watch out for Sirius. Thanks,Livvy
I wonder what that note say's. Another great chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! That note is getting lots of attention...next chapter. And watch out for Sirius. Thanks,Livvy
Hermione is right, if that is the best Rita Skeeter can do... When she was in Hermione's hair, she had a much bigger story under her nose or feelers or whatever bugs have.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Ha-ha... you are SO right. And Hermione will make her pay, I think a bit more evilly and longer than in the books! Thanks,Livvy
Great chapter! I do have a question about the de-aging process that Hermione underwent in order to return to the present. I remember that in one chapter she had exclaimed the need to undo the potion’s effect on her body – can that actually be done? Will she be able to return to her normal thirty something body when this is all over with? Or will she have to live this timeline out as she is now? Sorry, if this was already covered in the story and I just failed to catch it.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
In that chapter, Hermione was extremely frustrated and wanted Severus to undo the de-aging and restore her back to her age she had been before coming back to 1993.She only was able to be de-aged because of the substance Severus and she received from Horatius in the Time room. Severus had to make a special potion to make this happen.Hermione will not return to her previous age. She will remain as she is and grow up along with Harry and Ron. I know, it is a lot at once and even over a long period of time. I hope this helps. Write back if you have more questions :)Thanks!Livvy
great update. i love how you've entwined jkr with your story. thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! It won't be long now where the story will diverge again from JKR and the plot willoff in its own direction. Thanks!Livvy
Beautiful. Very touching. Thank you.~Mia
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you very much!Livvy
This chapter was lovely and warm and domestic. Five children! Having babies seems to suit them, but there's always the poignant reminder of Serena in the background, though it doesn't seem to shadow their happiness, which is a wonderful thing.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
It is the culmination of all the dreams they had dreamed of for so long. The final chapter will discuss this more. I hope you like it!Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
I'm so glad to see them happy at last. It's been a long, hard road, and they definitely deserve it! Severus reverting to adolescence over Hermione's breasts made me giggle... poor man...Great job! I'm sad that it's ending, but then again I can't wait for the last chapter. :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I'm glad that gave you a giggle :)I hope you will enjoy the final chapter just as much! Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
Aww, this was soo sweet! Nice to see Severus acting like a typical male LOL "Personal playground" had me laughing way too hard LOL
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! I thought the ladies out there would appreciate that! Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
This was very funny. Not goofy laughing out loud sort of funny, but in a sweet endearing sort of way. They have along the way had some really nice moments and intense loving moments and such, but I don't think that they have ever really truly been happy, and dare I say carefree, until now. How wonderful that Severus' biggest concern in the world is how he can wrangle his wife's breasts away from his son. They totally deserve this.I liked the bedroom scene, especially that they have their own "secret pleasure." Their lives have been ruled by secrets, and they finally have one that has a positive connotation to it. It is totally about what is mutually beneficial and enjoyable and not about what anyone else would think anyway.I liked that you let us know that things between the Potters and the Snapes are friendly without dwelling on the mending of the friendship. They finally have the cottage and the family and everything they've dreamed of. I don't know what more is to come! This is so bittersweet. I'm having the, "yay, the end is finally here"/ "oh no! The end is already here," feeling. I'm a little fearful that the end will be them old and dying and sadness will abound. Even if it is meant to be happy in a "look they lived the rest of their lives happily ever after sort of way." If that is really the case, I'm not saying that is bad, I'm just dreaming of only happy lighthearted fun to end on. Please put me out of my misery soon by finishing this thing :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked my light-hearted view of the Snapes domestic life. I thought they deserved "normal" things going on and I didn't want to dwell on the relationship mending between them and Harry. I thought it was enough for him to come to them humbly and apologize for all the pain he caused. I will get the last chapter up as soon as I can. Thanks for reviewing!Livvy
