Well, in many ways he is a peer, emotionally.
"Because, young lady," he said wearily, "you are not nearly proficient enough at Occlumency to be close to me." I actually squealed in glee when I read that line! If the kids wake up I shall blame it on you and your writing!

Has anyone done fan art of the two of them sitting cross legged in front of the fire with his arm bared? I think it would be amazing. I can draw stick people myself. The stones protect Severus? Clever Fawkes. I am seriously freaked out by the idea that Voldypants would torture HG just to get at Severus. Seriously I got goose bumps. Say it isnt so?

I don't think anyone's done any fan art for this story, actually. If they have, they never told me about it. The only fan art I can think of that I didn't draw myself was for my little mermaid story, which I can't remember the name of at the mo...As for Voldy, I wouldn't put ANYTHING past him...
ok, I confess...I am a dreadful reviewer. I am abashedly reviewing now, not because it is such a good story (although it really is) but because I want to be sure that you to know that we are still out here anxiously awaiting the newest installment in this delightful story. This is the very first story that I ever read in fanfiction and was immediately hooked. Since that time, I have read an unfathomable number of really good stories but there is something about this one that has always stuck with me. So I am absolutely not pestering you into finishing this (unless it is working). You have RL to contend with, but just wanted to remind you that I am still invested in your story. And while I am shamelessly begging you to continue this soon, I would truely rather wait longer and have it done properly, than have it rushed just to get it done. Keep up the good work!

awwwww... thanks. That's so cool that this was your first fanfic. My first scif-fantasy read was Lord of the Rings and no one has measured up to Tolkien in my eyes, for that reason. I really do have an outline for the rest of the story, I just need a frigging break to sit down and write it...
And the sexual tension steps up anoter notch!

Does Snape ever tell Harry in canon that he can see the construct that Voldy is feeding to Harry? Makes me wonder what could have been ya know?He paid her quite a few compliments whilst stumbling around drunk. I wonder if he will remember?

Hmm... might have been on her mind, I suppose. I think she primarily hoped to help Harry (aside from learning it for herself, that is).
In my minds eye Severus touching the cloth of his bed curtains was like blowing her a kiss. I hope he can scale back the intimidation. I expect he doesnt know how to relate without it.

Oh, most certainly, yes.
Its odd that there isnt any teaching techniques to help a student learn occlumency, just "do it" is hardly helpful is it? I wonder if HG was making any progress during her long first lesson?

Belated sympathies for your broken ribs - I remember the struggle to wash my hair and do up my bra after dislocating my shoulder... (and getting a bad cold right after a c-section and having to curl into a ball every time a sneeze threatened).This is a terrific story and I hope you carry on with it (I can't harangue too much because I am similarly guilty). Poor Severus!

Thanks... It's amazing how 6 months later I'm still having trouble. Signed up for physical therapy today.

There will be, that's all I can promise. I have some paid work rght now, and think I need to get into physical therapy for the whole broken rib thing, but my INTENT is to get back to writing this story eventually. Sigh. If only it weren't for real life--it interferes terrbly wth my fanfic fun.

Had me going there for a minute. My first thought was that Hermione was the one who was expecting a child. It was a relief to find out it wasn't a student... but now that I know it's a centaura, I have to ask if Severus knows he is about to abort his own... errr... offspring?Hope you will be feeling better soon. Oh, I'm sure he figured it out immediately. I don't know how long it'll take to bring this story off, so to speak--I have an outline, but that never means anything in terms of story length. I'm hoping a max of 20 chapters. The last 3 are already written--have been for about 2 years now. I just have to GET everybody there. It ends with HBP, BTW--I don't acknowledge DH as the legitimate end to the Harry Potter series.
