Forty-something, married, Professional Colorist seeks intelligent, scrawny man with misunderstood past. Tattoos a plus, snarkiness a must.
My interests include: Eating, breathing, napping, swearing and chocolate; as well as long, romantic walks from the refrigerator to my computer.
Needed skills must include: Foot massage, adoration, feeding my kids for me and ironing my husband's work clothes, along with sneering, looming, staring at me with desire, and reading whatever I hand you into my ear in a sultry tone.
Reviews for The Princess of Gryffindor
I love how Hermione is growing bolder and more into her old self as new opportunities arise. Her spirit wasn't dead, just buried. I really like your take on Victor as well. I think he had my favorite line in the chapter "...He called in your name..." That says so much of both Victor and Severus. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful story, JoAnne

I'm really glad you are enjoying it. It was fun trying to pace the rise of the old Hermione. And the old Snape!
You tell 'em, girl!. Someone needs to take charge. :)
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Yup!
Yeah, I'm so glad that Neville, Percy and Charlie are alive, and it is so cool that Minerva is a ghost. Hermione is shaping up to be a diplomatic leader, I knew she could do it. Great update.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thank you! You will see more of the 'old' Hermione, tempered by her experiences, come to the fore. But not without some hiccups.
This is seeming too good to be true. There was the minor setback of fighting amongst the groups, but I think that Hermione will be the glue that holds it all together. I'm counting on a happy ending here, so I will assume they both survive. And in that case, it will be interesting to see what becomes of their relationship once it is a choice rather than a necessity. I absolutely cannot wait!

"...what becomes of their relationship once it is a choice rather than a necessity..."These chapters, and the next all take place on the same day and that very topic will be paramount.
OOO! Such tension in the room. And she handled it perfectly, like the consumate Gryffindor that she is.Well done.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Yes, she was still in there somewhere, she just needed support to let herself stand tall.
Exciting chapter! Good to see some people survived. liked strong Hermione-she's right you can't rule by committee
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thank you! She was a bit reluctant to take charge, but she's always been good at it.
Oh, snap! I love Hermione and Snape when they are so very indignant.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
It was fun to see a spark of who they used to be, wasn't it?
I so enjoy this story and look forward to each update!!
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
I am so very glad!
What an exciting update, I almost flipped out when Ma caught them practicing. I'm so glad she's on their side. Interesting to hear Ma's sad story. This just keeps getting better.Hope the family emergency was not to serious.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Ma started out as a very minor charcater that I had no plans to develop. She really took on a lot of demension. As for the family emergancy: sadly, my father died.
I'm sorry for the emergency, but happy for the update!
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
More is coming as fast as possible!
Lots of info-nice. When it was evident that Ma walked into the room I thought, "Oh, that's right, they don't know what side she's on." Good job on the tension!

Awesome chapter! Can't wait to see what the girls have planned next!

The next move is Snape's, and it's a doozy...
Response from Dungeon_Butterfly (Reviewer)
I can't wait to read it!
There won't be many left on Voldie's side at this rate. Goodie! :)
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Yup. Take out the big guns and then trample the little ones. Hopefully.
I hope everything worked out all right with your familyemergency. Best of luck.I liked Ma's backstory; very credible. And the growingconfidence of the girls; hope they're all clever enough not to let it show until the right time. Things are gettingvery tense, and it's well conveyed.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Things are about to get much more exciting and a lot more unwieldy as the momentum picks up.
*hugs for family emergency**Cheers to gleam in eyes!!!!*
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thanks for the review and the hugs. Things are aboutto kick up a notch now!
Oh, man. I get just as nervous as Hermione every time someone shows up saying they are in on things with Snape. It all seems too good to be true in this chapter. Not knowing how long this story is, I don't know whether to think we are on the downhill slide into the home stretch, or in the calm before the storm. I liked getting a backstory from Ma. She didn't seem to have a lot of choices about her life, but it is hard to imagine how she can run this place having been on the other side. I guess you do what you have to to survive.I like that in the conversation with Goyle Sr. he is siding with Hermione, but it is for his own personal gain, and he still calls her mudblood. I always find it a bit unbelieveable when people who have such deep seated prejudices just overnight decide that they are wrong. This makes it feel like he hasn't necessarily lost any of his beliefs, but has just realized how insane his leader is and wants out at any cost. That, I can believe.I hope that your family emergency wasn't too serious, and everything is ok. It is never a big deal to wait on a chapter as long as said chapter is worth the wait. In this story, they always are.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thanks! I think it was important to show Goyle Sr's motivation being he was just too old for this nonsense anymore. Not that he wasn't innately hateful, he just wasn;t inclined to put that much effort into his hatred anymore and was worried about his son.As for the family emergancy, my father died after a shockingly short fight with cancer. It will take a while for life to settle again. I've been dreadfully absent-minded since.

I am so, so sorry to hear about your loss. While I live for updates to this story, if you need to disappear for awhile, everyone will understand. Just make sure you come back. You would be sorely missed!
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thank you. I'm doing so much better, but I seem to be having the worst ongoing ADD ever. I've uploaded the wrong chaps to the wrong stories on the wrong sites. >.< Slush brain.
I hope all is well with your family emergency. The chapter was worth the wait. Intriguing as always.

survivors!!! great update
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thank you!
I started reading your story for the first time last night, and I couldn't stop reading until I'd caught up with it. Fantastic plotting and tension. Hermione's narrative voice is wonderful -- completely believable as she shifts from the empty shell she was in the beginning to a strategist whose instincts and abilities are re-awakening. I'm pretty fond of the "Voldemort-won" AU and I love how you're working with it. Now I only hope poor Dusty makes it through her ordeal without giving away The Game ...
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Thank you so much! I'm humbled that you spent so much time in one sitting! Glad you are enjoying my story!
Poor Theo. Not knowing who to trust.
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
Definitely not having a good year, that young man.
I want to take this time to say how much I am enjoying this story. Sorry I haven't told you that before now. It is one of the more anticiapted stories on my update watch list. I wasn't sure where this was heading in the beginning, but I like what you have done with it so far. It is sad to think of so many characters as already dead, but you have worked wonders with the secondary and new characters in your story. I look forward to your next installment. Thanks, JoAnne
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
I am so very glad you like it. It was an awkward bird to get off the ground, but worth it when you see it in flight.
Another amazing chapter. I'm glad Nott is beginning to see the light. He did seem sincere, but I hope he wasn't playing Hermione. Only time and your next chapter will tell...
Response from Aurette (Author of The Princess of Gryffindor)
The next chapter's a doozy. A quiet doozy. Yup. It is.
