The idea that Hermione will be losing Sev's youth hit me with a rather sharp poignancy. At the age of 30 I finally felt like a 'grown up'... at 13 you think you are grown up  ... and oh the pains you go through learning otherwise!Thirteen and thirty-three, if this didn't have such angst potential, it would be just sad.As always, looking forward to reading what you will put them through next!

The Christmas at Spinner's End was wonderful... good food, Christmas tree, pampering from house elves, and presents!  I'm glad that Severus had such a beautiful time to remember in future years, and indeed it explains to an extent why he spent time at the neglected place in the later books.

So all is in readiness, and soon Hermione will be gone.  This is going to be terribly hard on both of them, and I fear that Severus might be snappish at the child Hermione Granger partly to maintain his "cover" within the DE, but also partly because he's so irritable and upset with having her "in his face", so to speak, but she's still out of reach.

Great story still, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

My emotions are all over the map!  I don't want Hermione to go to her future time, I don't want her to deage.  I want her and Severus to stay together, but I know none of that could happen.  Things have to play out the way they did when Hermione, Harry, and Ron were students together at Hogwarts and Voldemort was back.  Thank you for giving them such a warm and loving Christmas together.  Their gifts to each other were just right... things that would help them hold onto the dream to come.Really beautiful, and very bittersweet.  And I love it!Beth

Oi... this war is really taking a toll on Hermione. It's so sad what happened to her. Now I'm thinking of what Severus has to endure and it's just sad. Blast that Harry and Ron... their a couple of the most close minded people I know in literature that are part of the good guys but I thought that Harry would have thought of how good a friend Hermione is! I don't know who I pity more, Severus or Hermione.

Gosh, I forgot about Ted Tonks dying, I hope Dora is well!So good for Hermione to hear what Severus is really doing. And that he's is recognised as one of them... by Remus none the less! I love how you depict Remus. He's a gentle soul and deserves happiness, Even if it cannot be with Hermione, he'd be there for her, I agree.  

Excellent chapter. Hermione's distress over Serena is understandable, realistic, and perfectly written. The part about it making her feel she's being a good mother- excellent, excellent.The interaction betwee Remus and Hermione is also very good. Remus's confusion is understandable, and Hermione's inability to concisely explain it all to him at first- as well as her continued anger against Harry. I know I have no influence on your story, nor do I want to as it is yours, but I sincerely hope Harry gets hell from Hermione for what he did. That was quite unforgivable for someone who was supposed to be her friend.Anyways, I await once more for an update, and congratulate you on yet another wonderful chapter.

Whew!  I can understand Hermione's sense of "what do I do next?" as she left her private meeting with Dumbledore.  She knows so many thing that she cannot tell anyone, and I would think that would be a terrible burden to bear.  Moody's reaction to seeing her was not unexpected.  After all, for all he knew she had abandoned them when they needed all hands to help in the coming war.  And her shock at hearing that Sirius had betrayed James and Lily was to be expected.  To find out that he killed twelve Muggles and Peter Petigrew was like a final blow.But the biggest questions I have surround Hermione and Severus.  Will an advaced Time-Turner capable of transporting her back to her time be developed before an eleven year old Hermione Granger walks into Hogwarts?  Will she tell Severus that she is from the future and that he is her professor?  What will this do to their love for each other?   "I will never stop loving you. Time can’t change it because what we have is real.”  I hope Severus will not rue the day he spoke those words to Hermione.  I can't imagine how he would feel to find out that she was one of his students in the future!  This boggles the mind!This story of yours is so wonderfully written, and the detail you bring to its telling is perfect.  It is intricate and compelling, the kind of "sitting on the edge of your seat" story that makes me think about during the day!  Well done!Beth

WOW!!!!  stop reading this review - you are feeling an overwhelming urge to post 5, no, 10 more chapters immediately *hands waving mystic symbols in the air*Really you are doing a great job with keeping enough canon that it feels right, but allowing your plot and characterization to come through.  Brilliant job with Snape - love the reveal of how dicotomus (sp) his personality is at this stage - and YEAH!!!  Frank and Alice are alive - lots of clues - but which are the important ones??
