Now Severus knows what it's like to be a sex toy!I'm truly appreciating how you're handling this part of the Book Four. There's so much going on in it and I'm very much aware of how difficult it is to weave your own story through the canon info while maintaining your own direction, but it's working nicely for you.

That little interlude with Severus and Hermione at the beginning of the chapter was superb.  I really liked it when Hermione nearly drove him to distraction.  Well done, Livvy!Finally the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fall into place for Hermione, and she has the instinct and the brains to beat Skeeter and Moody at their own games.  I just hope she isn't biting off more than she can chew where Moody is concerned.It was good to hear from Sirius' own lips that he was sorry for what he had done to Snape all those years ago.  He may be a day late and a dollar short, but at least he told Hermione that he regretted his actions.  The foundation has been laid to build that bridge to friendship.  It will just take time.Poor Winky cannot stay off the butterbeer, bless her heart.  I think Crouch, Sr. really needs to take her back.  He needs his confidant House Elf to keep his home straight and his thoughts sorted.  And apparently Winky was very good at doing both.I can's wait to see where this story will go next.  Good job!Beth

Ah, will Hermione take Sirius' advice and tell Dumbledore her theory about Moody?  Obviously he already knows that Moody is not who or what he seems to be, but is standing back and waiting...  Is Moody already secretly under watch within the walls of Hogwarts?  His magic eye would alert him if anyone were using magic to spy on him, but would he notice if the castle portraits were keeping a watch on him?  After all, they're everywhere and so easy to forget about...I'll bet Severus is counting the seconds until Hermione's 16th birthday at this point!  Poor guy!  But poor Hermione too, I'm sure it's a strain on both of them as the time gets nearer and nearer.  This is one of those situations where instead of it getting easier as the end approaches, it just gets more and more difficult to bear.  The final week of waiting will probably have them both snapping at everyone around them--and God help Rita Skeeter if that's the week Hermione captures her!    We'll never see her again (not that this would be a bad thing)!

I think clarity comes with age.

Arrgh, I was on vacation for the first part of July and missed these chapters!  But I get to read three in a row now, so that makes up for it...  Glad that Hermione and Sirius are continuing to mend fences, and that things with her and Sev are getting better.  I can't help but hope that one of the canon divergences you're planning involves Sirius living through the battle at the Dept. of Mysteries!  If not, I'll forgive you, but I still hope...It shouldn't be long now before Hermione figures out the connection between Barty Jr. and Prof. Moody--it's practically been spelled out for her at this point, just a matter of taking a few minutes to really think about it.I'm looking forward to the chapter where Rita Skeeter gets placed in a jar!  Preferably with a giant beetle-eating critter as a roommate! 

Another great chapter.  I'm glad Hermione and Sirius are patching things up.  I loved the interlude with Hermione and Sev at the beginning of the chapter and can't wait for them to get back together.

I'm glad as well that Hermione and Sirius have reached an understanding.  Just don't know about the omniscient Dumbledore.  What's he playing at, covering up for Crouch Jr./Moody?

I was wondering how you were going to work in the little bit of Cannon of Hermione going to the ball with Krum - nice work!!

We've always known that Snape was in a particlularly foul mood on the Yule ball, and you finally deliver an explanation!I'm amazed how you intertwine your plot with canon. Excellent job!!All on top you produce a great love-pride-insecurity-jealousy-story with everyone in character. Most likely Hermione will regret baiting Severus, but what else can she do to get through his big skull?

uhoh, I have the feeling that Hermione is going to use Krum to make Severus jealous. I hope that doesn't backfire on her.

“Harry has found love with one Hermione Granger, a stunningly pretty Muggle-born girl who, like Harry, is one of the top students in the school.”Not good.  Rita Skeeter can always be counted on to muddy the waters with her "news-flash" articles.  Add the rumors about Hermione and Krum and you have a recipe for disaster. Severus did not take it well.  I can only imagine how upset he will be when Hermione attends the ball with Viktor.I liked the way that Hermione helped Harry train for the first task without being the one to voice the solutions.  You handled this very well.And thank goodness Ron didn't stay on his pity pot too long.  Harry is going to need all the support can get.  I'm looking forward to your next update, and I'm dredding it at the same time because I know that Hermione and Severus will have a falling out of major proportions.  I love this story, and hope we don't have to wait too long.  *I apologize for heaping on the pressure*I love A Change is Going to Come!Beth

I had forgotten about Moody having been Hermione's teacher that summer at Fenwick’s farm... if he were the real Alastor Moody, he would have recognized her!  Clever Livvy!This was a great chapter about the beginning of the new school year, and I'm so happy Severus came to reassure her of his love.  It's obvious that the Dark Lord is making a comeback.  Severus is so stressed with everything that's happening that one look was all it took for Hermione to know how bad things were getting for him.  Dumbledore's announcement of the Tri-Wizard Tournament and the arrival of the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students has really injected a lot of excitement into the atmosphere at Hogwarts.  But this will mean that the Yule Ball will be held soon, and Hermione will be attending it on the arm of Viktor Krum.  Severus will not take that very well.  My heart is already breaking for both of them.  This will be a very rough year for all concerned.Thanks for the update!Beth
