I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.
Reviews for A Change is Going to Come
This chapter was so good! You've interwoven it with canon and your previous chapters beautifully. Hermione's remorse about Lily's death as Harry heard it in the Dementor attack was a great piece to bring in. She hasn't actually crossed paths with Remus since she's been back yet, has she? Did Albus go around modifying the memories of the people that knew Hermione the most? Does Lupin even remember her from the past? It'll be interesting when Sirius shows up, since he didn't like her.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
The next chapter will talk about why there has been sucha n absence pf Lupin. There is some stuff going on there but it will al be explained. And yes, it's going to be out-of-control when Sirius pops back up!Thanks!Livvy
I can't imagine how hard it is for Hermione. Mentally, she's in her 30's, but she's trapped in a 14 year old body. Two different types of hormones at work against each other...OUCH!!! It's good to know Severus still wants Hermione. I know that was a concern of hers for a while. I'm also looking forward to the POA scenes coming up. I wonder how everyone will react when they learn it was Pettigrew who was the Secret Keeper and everything else.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Oh yes. It is going to be rather interesting when all that comes out. Thanks!Livvy
oo That's telling them! :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
They need to realize Hermione looks like a child, but that's not how it is!Thanks!Livvy
Great Lord! A lot is going on in this chapter, and if I feel winded, I can only imagine how Hermione must feel.Seeing that Severus thinks of his father every time he wants to touch goes a long way to explaining how he can be so cruel sounding to Hermione. I'm happy that they had those few minutes alone so that he could tell her how very much he loved her, and she could tell him that she still felt the same about him—and she is still a virgin. It's going to be a rough two years before they can be together.Another wonderful chapter, Livvy!Beth
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it will be hard and at times impossible, but they are determined to make it work. Thanks!Livvy
Interesting changes. Hermione has every right to be angry. Hopefully, they won't make the same mistake again.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry Hermione! It will get easier as she gets older, her developing into a young woman from a child will help keep everyone in check. Thanks!Livvy
Glad Hermione gave Dumbledore and the crew what for! I'm sure it's frustrating to her, being treated as an adult by them one moment and then as a child the next. Also an eye-opening take on how Severus feels every time he desires Hermione right now; completely makes sense. I'm also gratified that despite how she and Sirius never really got along, Hermione is willing to entertain the thought that perhaps he is innocent of the current charges. I'm sure she still doesn't like him, but it's not affecting her rationality.Awaiting the next chapter!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
The next chapter will be full of emotions running high and a peek into why there is such a lack of Professor Lupin when he was her friend and knows who she really is. I hope you like it!Thanks!Livvy
Another great chapter! Funny that Sev will relieve Hermione of her virginity TWICE. LOL!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, At least this time, she'll get the older and patient man instead of a randy teenager-not that anyone was complaining. But I know I would like to have another go round on my virginity! lol! Thanks!Livvy
Oh dear, well Hermione is really getting frustrated.I can understand why though - she would be really having a hard time adjusting to her younger body. And I think her anger at them for treating her like a child is justified.I just hope Hermione and Severus will hold strong until she is of age.Nice chapter!A~
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Poor Hermione. I do feel for her. The next chapter will be even worse, but as time goes on, she'll grow and it will be easier for everyone to see her as a young lady growing up and not a child. Then Lord help Snape when she starts to resemble the woman he fell in love with! lol! Thanks!Livvy
Oh, what a turmoil of nerves, emotions and hormones. and so sensitively written! I'm glad Severus laughed at least once now. You work canon in so very well, with Hermione getting furious about not knowing details and all. I will go through book 3 again to know what to expect next! BTWI had kinda hoped for the scene where Draco casts the Densaugeo, but I understand that book 4 is far too long a wait!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Well, I decided I didn't want to do that bit. Poor Hermione, she needed something to work out right for her! Thanks,Livvy
Oh a mad, hormonal Hermione.....not someone to mess with......Another outstanding chapter! Please update soon.....and get to the part where Hermione turns 16....oh well 2 years isn't too long to wait....I guess......Thanks!Kim
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I'll try not to drag it out! I hope you find it all interesting, these next two years. Thanks!Livvy
Oh, this is so good! Snape is going to be so angry after the incident at the end. And next year is the Yule Ball and Krum-- no wonder he was blasting roses.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Those incidents will be interesting since they won't exactly follow canon, but enough to really make things weird. Thanks!Livvy
Oh gads, the torment Severus faces feeling what he does that he's turned into his dad because he lust after Hermione. I loved the spunk she has in this chapter. I look forward to the next.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Yes, it's all so sad and depressing. But things will get betterand then as each obstacle comes, they will work it through. Thanks!Livvy
wonderful update. i know how long time can seem when you're waiting. thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thank you! I'll try not to drag it out too much! ;)Thanks!Livvy
oh wow. can't wait for the next bit. I just thought--how does hermione feel about her parents now? has she been living as an adult for so long that she doesn't feel a connection to them? or is she missing them really badly?
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Her life is so far detached from them now, I think she will go through the motions, but they cannot hope to grasp the reality of her life. So, there will be almost no discussion about Hermione's parents. Thanks!Livvy
Ok you've lost me. How is everyone too stupid to notice that Hermione is now 24, not 13? People change as they mature in a lot of ways(curves for one), just noticing that she had "lost her tan" isn't enough. If using the time-turner sent her back to her same age("how short she was now that she was thirteen again."), she should never have been able to experience things in the past, since it was before she was born!Major plot hole. I hope you have a plausible explanation in the next chapter. Something other than, "it's magic." You had me following along despite the relative OOCness, I like OOC sometimes and I like AU, but don't try to weave it back to canon if it just doesn't fit!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Okay, this might take a couple of back and forth posts. I may not be understanding your question. "How is everyone too stupid to notice that Hermione is now 24, not 13? People change as they mature in a lot of ways(curves for one), just noticing that she had "lost her tan" isn't enough."Your question, as I read it, is that she actually looks older? She was De-aged to thirteen years, eleven months, etc. In her mind, however, she is Hermione who remembers everything about her past. She looks just like she did the day she left with the Time-Turner.Are you thinking that Hermione LOOKS like a twenty-four year old? Is that what got you lost?Thnaks for reviewing, and let me know! :)Livvy
Okay, I'm sorry for double reviewing here but now I'm all confused by your response to another reviewer. With Debjunk you pointed out that by moving Hermione back into the 1970's she was Severus's age - that I get.
-Than she aged there naturally - that I also get.
-But she came back when she was 24 and then there was a 10 year period of time, meaning she still is 24, not 34.
-Because she did not age, nor did she experience any of that time period.
-Because if she ages while the time turner is moving but she isn't experienceing time - like from 24 to 34, than her age would have also been altered when she went back in time - either into the negatives or like she would she should now be in her 50's or something? Now I'm all confused, maybe I shouldn't read your response to other reviewers questions lol. Than again, I like the hints and tidbits too much...
-Hopefully you can answer this for me, without it sounding like a time-loop lol.
Response from Lioness Rampant (Reviewer)
Darn it, the spacing didn't work, sorry if it's hard to read...
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I know, it is a mind bender. I decided that when Hermione went forward in time, she gained those years so she would be the same age as Severus, just in a thirteen/fourteen year-old body. I know there could be arguments for all the various time-hopping she's done, but it just made sense to me this way, to keep Hermione the same age as Severus, although she looks younger (should we all be so blessed!) So I hope that settles it for you. Besides, Hermione being in her near mid-thirties fits with my plot line! :)Thanks! I hope that helped!Livvy
And then she was gone....how awful! I know this is how it had to be but...it still sucks! I was so upset when Severus snapped on her for using his first name, I totally would have reacted the same way if I were her. I did have a little chuckle over the "teeth" incident. She's just going to have to get hit with Malfoy's curse now after all. Thanks for another wondeful chaper. Much Love ~ Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I was harsh, but that is typical Snape-trying to protect himself by being a bastard. :)Thanks!Livvy
Livvy ~ I almost started to cry when they were dancing to Forever Young. That song is perfect for the situation. This really bites I hope Severus can manage. I'm off to read the next chapter now. Much Love ~ Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I'm glad the song did it for you. I really wanted to capture the pain of their upcoming separation. Yeah, this is going to really suck for a long while, but one day she'll be sixteen and then Whoo-hoo!Thanks!Livvy
OMG, How awful. What torture it's going to be to have a 13 year olds body and a 20 year olds mind! I am really glad she said what she said at the end of the chappie...lets enjoy the time we have. So sad but she has a point. I'm so glad that I fell behind on reading...now I don't have to wait to read the next chapter. Much Love ~Brena
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
LOL! I saved Pheonix Song by grangerous so now that it is complete, I can read it all in one go! Hubby is home from work today. SO I'm in my hidey-hole able to do whatever I want! I know if you have kids, you'll understand :)Anyway, yes, it will be hell for about ten chapters. But events will not be exactly like the books because its Hermione's POV and also stuff's different. Hope you like how it's done! Thanks!Livvy
I sound like a broken record - but I feel so bad for them!!! Please make her 16 soon!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
It will take a while, but while we are waiting, I will try to make things as interesting as possible! Thanks!Livvy
I'm enjoying seeing this from Hermione's perspective. Although my heart broke at Severus' note and reaction to her. I suppose I can understand the pain he's in right now, poor guy. Thank you for at least letting him show that to her and not just be the cold bastard he is for show.I'm confused on the age thing. She was the same-ish age as Severus in the past, shouldn't she be in her thirties then? (in a 13/14 year old body?)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
That's exactly right. Hermione'll go see Poppy about her emotional issues and Poppy will tell her she's a 34-year-old in a fourteen-year-old's body. With the lovely memory cells we all have in our body, and the fact Hermione is in full-blown puberty- holy cow! She going through pseudo-peri-menopause and puberty at the same time! No wonder her hormones are on overdrive! But Snape is a rock and will not take advantage when Hermione is at her weakest. No pre-sixteen, under the age of consent nonsense going on here! :)Thanks!Livvy
Oh, man, you really painted his hurt and pain well. He's not handling this seperation well at all.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
No, he's not taking this well at all... but in time, they will learn to live with this type of seperation. Thanks!Livvy
Two years seems like an eternity at that age! :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
I think for Severus as well! Thanks!Livvy
Yuck, I can see him getting frustrated with her young age. Fourteen squicks me, too. I'm glad she's back and has Minerva to confide in. I enjoyed the chapter and was very glad to see the update e-mail. It made my day.
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks. I will have to make sure to keep that line between them. Right now, there is no problem, she's so young. THe real tension will start around 4-6 months before she turns sixteen and realy starts to blossom and he remembers how things had been when they both had been that age. Thanks!Livvy
You did a great job explaining the time change... I liked that you had Minerva "debrief" Hermione. Another great chapter!
Response from livvy6 (Author of A Change is Going to Come)
Thanks! Boy, did I suffer with trying to figure that one out. I'm glad you liked how I explained the age difference. Thanks!Livvy
