Ah ... so now the truth is out! Lily did it for Harry -- and then Dumbledore went and took Harry away from Snape, leaving Snape to bear the guilt of Lily's suicide and becoming the hard, bitter man we see in canon. Very convoluted, but tied up neatly.

I enjoyed 'viewing' the events from every one else's perspective. Like some of the other reviewers, though, I'm not sure what Malfoy can add to the mix.

I'm with the others in that Lily really did a number on poor Snape's emotional well-being.Your theories about lycanthropy were very plausible.I'm not sure what Hermione can do to convince Snape of her sincerety -- he needs to accept himself as 'lovable' before any one else can.

Hermione is of age, but still a student. I like that you've kept Snape honourable enough to know that she is still 'off-limits' -- not that he's ready to approach her anyway. Using his memory of watching her masturbate to fuel his sexual fantasies seemed plausible. His intrusion into her mind, however, is dispicable. It does serve to point up, however, how deeply rooted his mistrust is. He STILL doesn't believe she could care for him, in spite of what he sees in her mind. Lily has really screwed up his mind!

It's quite possible that the only one in this chapter who isn't confused is Molly. Let's hope her insights and advice will be a steadying influence on the others.

I wanted to have the opposite reactions from married women that are very different. Marriage is a whole other ballgame after you've been married twenty years or so then when you are a newlywed. But sometimes wisdom falls on deaf ears but Hermione is smart. She'll get herself sorted.Thanks!

You've not only given Snape a second chance at life (though you haven't yet explained HOW he survived), but you've also kept Remus and Tonks alive, as well. Right there is a plus in my book!

I'm not convinced that Snape would have been quite so forthcoming with Ginny, but it was good to see him open up a bit.

Well, this was a very lonely and isolated time for him and knowing Ginny was going to be the one for Harry, I could see a moment of cracking through the wall to reach to someone. But this is all my interpretation. Thanks for reviewing!

Poor Severus. This just makes me want to bring Lily back to see the havoc she wreaked by taking the coward's way out. Sigh. I know she felt like she had no choice, but that was so horrible.

i liked how you describe the effects of snape's legilimency on hermione - i.e, the headache and feeling of sickness that mysteriously arose and just as mysteriously disappeared. i also liked how you described his reaction to finding out how she felt about him - it seemed plausible, given what we know of him. : )

Great chapter, beautifully woven and every emotional. Lupin's outburst and Hermione's was great! I actually felt a cheer for them saying what they did. I feel so sad for Hermione. I hope that they can work things out between them. You are so right about the scars left behind in the wake of war.

Good chapter. I had a hard time following the turbulent emotions, Harry's yelling after giving Severus water, but I loved that Severus opened up to Harry. Harry really is a prat, I hope he outgrows it.

He is so overwhelmed and hurt after so many years of Snape being a bastard to him - in Harry's eyes, but in reality, Snape was hard him, even though his motives were to help, he did cause damage there. Harry will have to sort out his feelings.Thanks!

Harry deserved to be punched. And I'm glad Hermione gave him what for, he deserved that too. But he is confused, and getting hit probably didn't help him. Snape didn't help matters by treating him like that all those years, Harry doesn't remember the love.

I read all 18 chapters again last night and then today I find 19 up. This story just gets better and better. I love seeing all the sides of snape, from marauders era to post DH and all the agnst ( which you excell at) that I hope will turn into a very happy ending eventually. Many thanks
