Poor Severus having to be reminded of his failure at every turn. I can only imagine how horrible that must feel. No wonder he behaved the way he did.

Yes, it is a very difficult for him to continue. He is eaten up with so many various emotions, it is easy to see how he can act so bitterly

Oh, Lily. If only you had known the consequences of your actions, that Severus would not get Harry that you were sending him to your sister. Painful, but a good way to jump back to canon. I can see Severus asking for that, that Harry not know what had happened.

Lily unfortunately is very mentally unstable and is not thinking correctly. However, later on in the story we will learn of an aspect of wizarding life that Lily is aware of and Severus has turned a blind eye towards because of his love for her. It will make her decision less selfish

Oh, Remus, you know how to hit below the belt. I think Lily needed to hear it, but it's always harsh having someone confront you with the truth. I really hope she doesn't give up on her own happiness just for Harry. It is important for both of them to have happiness.

Poor Lily. I can really see her being so conflicted with everything that is going on. She loves Severus as a friend but nothing more, but that Harry has found someone stable in him. It really is a deep pickle that she's in.

Wonderful job working that bit of canon with Sirius in. I was wondering if he was still going to go after Peter, albeit a few days later. And nice confession scene with Severus baring his soul to Lily. I think that was very well done. I can see her being horrified, but still accepting of the fact that he had changed.

I can definitely see Sirius having a meltdown over that. And Severus is being a good and decent man by turning away her affections when she's not ready for it. I'm really enjoying how this is unfolding and hope to finish it tonight or tomorrow.

Nicely done. I like that Harry would not judge Severus and play with his nose. And I can see Severus focusing on Harry's eyes and not his hair.

Nice job showing the raw emotions that there would be in the aftermath. Though I do have to wonder if Severus will be able to face Lily knowing that he told Voldemort about the prophecy that ultimately led to James's death.

Interesting start. I love that her love could be powerful enough even without her death. How different it would have been for Harry to grow up with his mother and presumably the wizarding world, and no Dursleys.

OH gads, the CIrcle was hilarous! Especially with the George listening in and give blow-by-blows! I mean giggles-by-giggles! Severus and Harry having that final good bye at the grave, nice closer to that.

This young witch who will be the love of Sev's life, does she have bushy hair and a big brain? Your story has been depressing up to this point, a tribute to how well you write. If it ends with SS/HG I'll be happy.

"Love Remains" has been an absolute joy to read, and I thank you for sharing your considerable talents with us. The over riding theme for me was the power of true love to persevere and remain whole no matter the trials and tribulations that come throughout one's life.Severus loved Harry with a love that could not be extinguished, and he did everything he could do to protect him... even when it hurt... Harry was his son no matter what!!!Severus and Hermione worked very hard to build the kind of loving relationship that only comes from dedication and a firm commitment to see things through. I was so happy to know they married and had a beautiful daughter. Sarah will be the most loved and best protected witch in Wizarding Britain... just like her mother.When Harry and Ginny named their son Severus Harry Potter, I got tears in my eyes. It was totally fitting that Severus had been honored that way. Just think, if Hermione and Severus have a son, they could name him Severus, too. Then we would have Severus Snape, Sr., Severus Snape, Jr., and Severus Potter... and a dynasty is born!
I've loved this story from the beginning, and I love the ending you have given my favorite characters. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

very sweet but still some sadness. (like life) Harry regreting the childhood he never had with Severus was very sad. Thanks for shaing this tale with us, and congrats on finishing it by the deadline.

I'm really glad you gave this such a happy ending. This wonderful story was so dark at times, I wondered how that would be possible. But you worked things out for the characters with this very satisfying ending.
