Reviews for The Godfather
Again, another lovely, painful chapter. I look forward to more!
Oh, I love this story! I'm so glad I found it. Thank you for translating it for us, and please pass along my regards to the author!
Wouldn't it be good if someone could do art of Severus holding Albus Severus? A very interesting start.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well - I guess I would love that... Unfortunately, I am not very good ad visual art - more a woman of words.
I like that you do not treat Ron's and Hermione's breaking up as a joke. You handleled it well and from the heart. There is genuine emotion there, and affection does not disappear in such cases, but slowly changes, as you are showing. Thanks to both of you for this update.
Wirklich, wirklich schön. Ich freu mich schon jetzt auf's nächste Update!LG, gab
Nice story. I like the fact that Ginny has a more active role in communicating with Snape - it makes for a nice change. Good Characterisations too.Any reason why Hermione is not Al's Godmother? It is not unusual to have both or not have to be married to each other/a couple.Cheers
Wonderfule premise and you're developing the characters beautifully...terrific voice.Look forward to more.

This is sooooo gooood!
Poor Hermione being so lonely. Fortunately Severus has arrived. I like this very much and I'm very glad that you're updating regularly.
I like the dialogue between Ron and Hermione much. Now, they'll be at peace with their past. Now, let's see how Hermione will get nearer to Severus. If only I could read German...
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, that's what I'm here for...But don't you think that Severus' psychological "wounds" run much too deep to be healed within just a few chapters?
Response from septentrion (Reviewer)
Oh, I don't expect things to go quickly for them, if Severus's house and state in the first chapter were any indication.
A lovely chapter. I liked that Ron and Hermione have maintained their friendship, even after breaking up. Poor Hermione. She made the choices she needed to make for herself, but still she has some regrets. And Severus is full of regret too. Hmmm, maybe they can get together and comfort each other. :-)
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Maybe they can. But to accept the comfort of another, you have to realize that you need this, first.
I like the set-up of this story. What an original idea! I'm looking forward to more!
I don't like hermione with ron, and I am usually not moved by their break-ups but yours brought real tears to my eyes. Well written.Oh, and that was not a very nice place to leave us hanging. Update soon.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Chapter 4 is being "beta'd" right now...
I love this story and look forward to reading more!
A lovely chapter, I'm glad the breakup was realistic and the feelings were brought into the open.
Hey :) I'm really enjoying this story line, but I did notice that in this chapter particularly, the dialogue translations seem to be a bit rough, too formal for conversations between friends if you know what I mean. Anyway, other than that it's a great story, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of it!
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Well, hitting just the right "speech level" for each and every situation is one of the most difficult tasks for literature translators. Just imagine you had to translate "the Name of the Rose" and get yourself acquainted with medieval swear words and colloquial expressions as well as latin and formal speech (as they are used in the Italian original)...I would be glad if you could send me a PM with some examples of what you mean. I must admit that I always hated FF where the HP characters suddenly uttered sentences like "Hey, what's up bro?" and such. I think that is much too out of character. But since I am no native speaker of English and I have never been to an English speaking country I just lack the appropriate experience.
I was following this closely a few months back but just today caught up with it again. And I read the whole thing in one sitting!
I think that this fic captured the characters of both Hermione and Snape so well... and it was also nice to have Harry, Ginny, the kids and even some Ron thrown in! It's rare that I see the characters so well drawn.
This was a brilliant story on Marisol's part, and I'm very impressed with Muggline's translation skills; you've managed to get what is an obviously well written story in German into a well written English story! I can imagine how much work the author and translator put into this. Kudos to both of you!
Hmmm I wonder if the wheels are turning in Severus's head, if he didn't care he would not have been embarrassed by her tears.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
I think he is much too occupied with his own self-loathing to have any wheels turning. He is just embarrassed by any open expression of feelings because he cannot handle such situations.
Slow and steady wins the race. Well I hope Hermione wins anyway!
Brilliant spell! I'm so glad that Severus took it as intended instead of rejecting it. He deserves happiness, and I hope he can find it with Hermione.
I'm very very bad for not having reviewed until this point. This is just such a fantastic read that I couldn't help clicking the next button! Hermione is believable and Snape is richly drawn even without having his POV. Very good work, here. :)I have a feeling that the bliss will not last long, and considering the height of the peak, you'll take us into a very low valley. I'm a bit afraid, actually... this fic is so emotionally charged...
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
Finally... Marisol posted the next chapter of the German version yesterday and I am translating it right now. There will be only two more chapters, so she has to get on with it somehow...
wow...that's an interesting take on severus' father. it would certainly explain a lot. wonderful update. thanks so much
she is going to let him see himself through her eyes.good chapter.waiting for more.
Response from Muggline (Author of The Godfather)
It wasn't such a difficult guess, I think...
