Severus Snape’s life was changed when he was hit by an errant spell, and he comes to a decision that defies Dumbledore’s wishes. Even the fate of the wizarding world is altered by this one ill-cast curse and Snape’s subsequent resolve. Long after the spell itself has dissipated, its effects continue echoing in the lives of Severus, Albus, Minerva, and Hermione, and they bring with them a shadowy figure whom Snape does not trust and whose motivations and influence on Minerva are murky. Conspiracies and schemes swirl around Severus as he continues on his path of deception to his final confrontation with the Dark Lord.

Reviews for Death's Dominion
Whoa, so much going on in such a short space of pages. Poor Quin; I hope we hear more about him, and that he "might" get to have some good news at some point! Has Gertie fled to Emain Ablach or to that other "1000-year warded" island? Heh, cool by me either way.So Alroy turned out to be an Animagus? Love it! Since he was so skilled at communicating with some animals, it seems entirely appropriate that he can Transform himself into one. Hmmm, what could he be though?I still love Robbie (and that he is somewhat similar to Albus ) 'cos he messes with Severus...even when he's not in the same room!Hah, "little toe-rag". Yep. This update was a very pleasant surprise after dinner tonight!Cheers for now,Di
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I considered cutting this into two chapters, but I decided I liked it better as a whole. You'll find out a bit more about Gertie before the end. (But how would she get to Ablach or have anyone visit her there?)You will need to wait until there's a RaM sequel to learn what Alroy becomes -- I had to catch myself and go back and delete it! I didn't want to create a spoiler, after all! (We knew already that if he seemed to have the aptitude for it, Minerva would teach him, so I figured the fact in itself was not too much of a spoiler.)Glad you love Robbie even when he ain't there! LOL!Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!TTFN!
Poor Quin - that he should be attacked like that! And poor Hermione - Severus really was nasty to her, although I suppose he was trying to spare her pain. And what decision is Minerva talking about? Great chapter, as always, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Poor Quin, indeed! Severus at least felt badly about what he said and tried, in his own way, to make up for it, which is a positive thing -- but he is a bit of a messed up boy in some ways. We'll see how things progress for him and Hermione. You'll have to wait and see what Minerva left Severus puzzling about!I'm glad you're enjoying the story! I appreciate the review!
Hypnobarb wrote:"One could say that being an ally of Albus Dumbledore is as dangerous as dating one of the Cartwright boys."I'll add to that ....to have been one of the men Minerva counts among her serious lovers considerably lowers the odds you will die serenely in your bed of old age! Of the 4, Carson and Albus have died noble, sacrificial, but painful deaths. We don't know yet how Quin has fared, but given his reputation and personality, I wouldn't want to take odds. I suppose her German apotheker is the safest of the 4.... Basically, loving or being tied to Gryffindors is not a recipe for a pacific, pain-free life! An honest, noble, idealistic one, perhaps, but not a pacific or risk-free one.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
One chooses sides or stands by and allows evil to happen, so Dumbledore or no Dumbledore, there would still be choices to be made. And the sort of man who would choose Minerva -- what side would he choose to be on? But Gertrude said something similar to that last line back the first day that Minerva was at the Gamps -- in the chapter "A Startling Revelation."
Response from esoterica1693 (Reviewer)
So Gertie did. And if she thought she knew it then, how many additional lessons would she have to reinforce it......And the way she was wounded....if Carson was a Gryffy-Ravenclaw, Gertie was certainly a Gryffy-Slytherin, and increasingly so as she got older.... Perhaps they do indeed sort too soon ....
nice start , sounds like it will be interesting, ignoring DH is always a good start!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Thanks!
It is distressing to learn how things ended for Gertie, but at least she had an impact on the conscience of one of the long-term key players in the battle. Cheerful Malcolm falling at the hand of Voldemort, too. A lot happened in years that passed since 1957.One could say that being an ally of Albus Dumbledore is as dangerous as dating one of the Cartwright boys. Now, I'm worrying about what we'll learn about Quin.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
"One could say that being an ally of Albus Dumbledore is as dangerous as dating one of the Cartwright boys."ROFL! That's a good one!Quin was a definite Muggle-lover back in RaM, wasn't he?Thanks for reviewing!
Lovely amount of backstory here, though dreadful at the same time, what happened to Malcolm and Gertrude, I mean. Oh Gertie.... Thank you for telling us what occured. No wonder Robbie's changed so much and now follows Minerva about like a suit of armour - he's the silent knight in the flesh. (Um, Thea? Their baby?) So easy to see why Severus doesn't like him!
It's good to see Albus, even if for a bit. I like your Hallows interpretation - 'Children and madmen' is great! - I liked the idea in HP, but I wish JKR had plotted it differently, not sprung it in the last book. Sorry - tangent. Anyway, lovely update, explanation & going forward at once. Thank you! Blacktea
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Glad you like my Hallows interpretation. (Baby is all grown up. Thea . . . your question will be answered eventually. The first part of the answer will be coming fairly soon.)Robbie bothers Severus on so many levels, it's hard to enumerate them!We will be seeing more of Albus at various points in the story, both from Severus's p.o.v. and from other perspectives. Thanks for the review!
Their plan is certainly convoluted; somehow I think it will make more sense, in the end, than JKR's did. Minerva's coldness toward Severus makes my heart hurt a bit, since he must still love her as he did in AAoL, but perhaps it's helping him to transfer his affections to Hermione (I hope!)?The revelation about Crouch's mother was a shocker. Actually, it's the revelation about Severus, and his recollection of the battle and his own feelings about Gamp and the person he was at that time - I found it very moving. Another great chapter, and anxiously waiting for more.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Thanks,
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
. I don't know whether it will make more sense or not, but I hope it will at least make some sense. At least there is a plan of sorts, and not mere blundering ahead . . . and no camping! It (meeting Crouch & remembering his mother) is helping Severus, in a way, attain his final atonement, being able to face what he did, really confront it, rather than merely live with regrets about Lily specifically and burying the rest of what he did and was as a Death Eater. There is more to redemption and atonement than merely "paying" for what one does -- dying or what-have-you -- and trying to defeat the evil outside oneself. Severus has the opportunity to try to recognise and achieve that. Anyway, that's all probably too philosophical -- or not philosophical enough, or something. Severus does still love Minerva, and that won't change, although being more detached from her can help him to grow more himself, and to grow toward others (like Hermione!).Thanks for the review!
What The Duo said about The Writer Who Shall Not Be Named.I also join The Duo in hoping Snape feels great inner pain every time he considers what Robbie (and Minerva, but especially Robbie) must think of him, and how much forgiveness, or at least forebearance, he has received. And that he is self-aware enough to realize he may not be totally objective on the matter of Robbie. He has done much to atone, but he is still cruel deep down, even if that's not 'best of him' which Albus spoke of.Oh, poor Gertrude! And this is coming from someone who took a very long time to warm up to her in RaM! I hope that she healed as well as possible from her dreadful wound and is able to have some sort of decent life wherever she is. But to have lost Robert to Grin., then Malcolm, then her arm and possibly her overall health and also de facto Albus as well, as she surely wouldn't see much of him when in hiding overseas....how many more losses could she be expected to take? Now I want a 1-shot of where she apparated to, who healed her, how Albus reacted, and what she's up to in hiding. You have created such compelling characters and drawn such a detailed world that giving us one bit just makes us want MORE! MORE! MORE! Malcolm died as I would have expected him to and as he would have wanted to, presuming he was able to put up a fight or at least go down w/ dignity. Poor Minerva, but she would have felt the same, as did Gertrude, I'm sure, as hard as it was.In his mega-confession Letter, Albus wrote to Minerva, "rather to cut off my wand hand than to cause you pain." Somehow that sentence keeps echoing in my mind's ear as I imagine Gertrude's awful maiming, as well as Albus's own death by virtue of a curse manifested in his wand hand. No meaning, per se, just that they all echo against each other in my mind.
Response from esoterica1693 (Reviewer)
Oh, and the second half of the chapter....<g> Somehow Severus hasn't had a good track record lately of his schemes working out as he hoped, so I worry about his thinking the Trio could do w/o Hermione's presence. Cue ominous music... Not the kind of decision he should make unilaterally, IMO. Esp. given his clouded emotions on the matter!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I think that the reason that Severus has nightmares has to do with all that you have mentioned. But he does wallow in his guilt and also in his sense of being injured by the world, which is a terrible conversation. Because he has let no one get very close to him -- even Minerva, really, although he had begun to see her as a friend -- he never had any way of letting that all out in any healthy way or in any way that allowed him to develop that "best self" that Albus spoke of, and that he had trouble believing in. I had always planned on Malcolm and Gertrude having that kind of fate, although the specifics worked themselves out when I was writing DD last autumn. As for Hermione, in this instance, he's actually wrong about what Minerva and Robbie would think, but right about what Albus would think. Things won't go as smoothly for them at first, but it won't be all bad. But I'm not getting into the doings of the new Trio except tangentially -- hence this being a psychological drama as opposed to an action-adventure fic! But you are right about Severus's ideas and schemes in general lately.I'm glad you're enjoying this story and all of the RaM-verse tales! Thank you for your review!
Response from esoterica1693 (Reviewer)
Yes, I can see that Albus "Minerva, I never meant you should be pushing papers all day, just that you wouldn't be in danger" Dumbledore might agree w/ Severus, and also understand even more of his motives than Severus does at the moment, or would admit to, anyway....And the scene of dying Albus propped on his sofa, speaking w/ Severus--oh, Albus, oh Minerva! The sadness of it, the pain.... Even when one is confident that death is but the next big adventure, dying itself can be awful. Being AK'd on the Tower per canon would have definitely been preferable, even after drinking that cursed Cave potion. Severus is spared having the killing on his conscience, but seeing how Albus died, I wonder if he had second thoughts.....no wonder he was angry at the funeral, and sort of wishing Albus had slit his own throat--he, SS, had to choose between being responsible for killing his friend and patron and savior, or, in a way, his protracted suffering. No good option. I do hope we get Albus's POV from that period...if I were he, once I felt I'd imparted all the wisdom and knowledge I could, a potent potion, brewed by my own hand some months earlier and swallowed down in one gulp when Minerva's back was turned briefly, might have been a more appealing exit....
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
We will continue to see things more-or-less from Severus's p.o.v., w/ a little bit of Hermione's p.o.v. thrown in, and then we will see it from other perspectives -- that's when the discontinuous, nonlinear narrative comes in.And yup, that's why Severus felt so much anger. The next chapter should be up in a few days.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
And, of course, I meant that Severus wallowing in guilt and in his sense of being injured by the world is a terrible combination -- sometimes I don't get my brain! lol!
What an elaborate plan and a much better way of handling the Deathly Hallows than what JKR tried to pass off on us. Sheesh! Albus is always amazing in the little details and the grand scheme of things. I don't believe for a second that he's a major screw up as Rowling would like us to believe. In your Albus, I see the intricacies of his plans and the rationale behind them. They may be far fetched at times but I'm sure he's thought of all the possible outcomes and is trying, even now in his last days, to orchestrate the favorable outcomes.
Woo hoo for Robbie, too! I'm glad he finally told Snape about his mother and step-father, as well as their fates. Guess it would be incredibly harsh of me to wish nightmares of those events on Snape but he seems to have so much hatred for Robbie, that it would almost seem fitting. Grrrrrr.
Another brilliant chapter! Thanks for the update.
GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Severus's response kinda mirrored my own. "Children and madmen!" LOL!I'm sure that many of Snape's nightmares from which he was trying to escape are from events like that -- it's like he said to Minerva in the first chapter about why he was "fucked up." I also am sure that Robbie knew precisely who he was talking to as he sat there talking with Snape, and that Dumbledore was late to their meeting on purpose. A little "get-to-know-you" time. (I rather doubt that Robert viewed Malcolm as a step-father, just 'cause there were only 6 years between them in age -- but it's hard to think of a better term. "His mother's second husband" makes it sound like they didn't get along, or as though she had been married more than twice . . . *puzzling puzzling*)I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks much for reviewing!
Hey, no fair!! I go away for a weekend and come home today to find two updates for this story and one for Holiday with the Headmaster. Guess the unpacking and laundry will have to wait for a bit while I catch up!I do believe our dear Snape is most unhappy with Harry and his little group and even Minerva to some extent. And don't even get me started on his feelings towards Robbie. EEEEK! I have to say, though, that Robbie intrigues me and if Minerva felt strongly enough to move Snape back to Potions and Robbie to DADA, she must have had a grand reason for it. I don't see her doing things out of sentimental reasoning. The reference to Minerva taking naps in her tabby form and learning some unusual things was priceless. My mind immediately raced back to Resolving a Misunderstanding and some of her "discoveries" back then...tee hee. Fantastic chapter and I'm off to read the next one. Thanks for updating quickly on this!GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I'm glad that you are choosing pleasure before unpacking and laundry!!! Given the curse on the DADA position, I'm sure Minerva was thinking of Severus's welfare -- even if only as a member of staff and the Order of the Phoenix (and their spy) -- when she declined to keep him in the position. Who knows what have might befallen him if he had signed on for a second year . . . eep! We will see more of Snape and his feelings toward Robbie in the next couple of chapters. Thanks for reviewing! Glad you enjoyed the chapter -- and I hope you had a great weekend!
Excellent chapter, not much of a surprise for me for some reason - somehow, I've always known what Malcolm's fate would be in the first war. I'll admit I expected Gertie to have gone down with him, both of them fighting all the way (rather Lupin & Tonks-like, if you'll forgive a comparison to The Book That Shall Not Be Named). I was very close. But having her take on four DEs including Severus and then disappear never to be seen again - but that she might still be alive somewhere, in hiding, still grieving (always grieving) -that's immensely powerful.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
They weren't together when Malcolm was killed -- more like an assassination, really -- or they might have gone down together. Lupin and Tonks (if you'll forgive the spoiler for DD) have a different fate here, as do most of the characters, as you have likely surmised.I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thank you very much for reviewing!
Oh, my God - Severus cut off Gertie's arm? And Malcolm was killed by the Death Eaters before his wedding anniversary? Poor Minerva - I never would have thought that Malcolm would have died - or that Gertie was in hiding... Poor Robert, as well! I'm glad that he told Severus what happened to Gertie, though - Severus deserved to feel some guilt and repulsion for his actions! Great chapter, as always, and I can't wait until the next one!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
So often, we love to see the reformed Severus without thinking about what he was reformed from. I knew this chapter might upset devoted RaM followers, but remember that G & M had many happy years together! And Malcolm wouldn't have been Malcolm if he had sat on the sidelines, after all. A man who laughs at dragons isn't going to shirk danger when he sees a duty before him. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks for the review!
Good chapter, I liked the background information on Minerva.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Clever move on Severus' part to drive Harry away, since nothing else seemed to be working...it will be interesting to see what Hermione does. I'm glad you have Draco and Narcissa go into hiding. I must agree w/ Snape--Robbie doesn't seem the most obvious candidate for DADA. He's not even an alum, IIRC. I can see why she wants him near--next to Gertrude, among their inner circle he might have known Albus better than anyone else, and longer, and was sort of an adopted son. In her aching loneliness she needs at least one close friend who could be of true support. But the DADA post doesn't seem the most logical sinecure. Esp. given its term limit! There is obviously something bigger going on here which shall be revealed...And then there is the matter of Minerva's euphemisms...'unavailable' indeed....she is obviously utterly undone on some level, but is anything else going on? Hmm....Obviously I'm not getting any more patient as time goes by!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I am sure that Durmstrang has quite adequate course in Defence -- although that was so long ago, and his practical experience rather outweighs whatever he may have learned at school back in the 20s & 30s. I am sure that Minerva is thinking of the curse -- she doesn't want something untoward to happen to Snape by giving him the job, as would no doubt happen if he were to be appointed for another year. This is an excellent opportunity to practice patience! Close your eyes, breath softly, and listen to nothing . . . aaahhhh! It doesn't help my impatience, either, but I keep trying! LOLThanks for the review!
This jumps around a bit but its very intriguing. Great as always.Truly
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
This was just a couple months after the end of the last chapter, and the first four chapters all proceed in chronological order. The "jumping around" hasn't begun yet. As I have mentioned, the narrative is nonlinear, but it should be easy enough to follow. I wouldn't read it at midnight after a night of drinking, of course! LOL! I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the review!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Thinking about it, and remembering that you've read Resolving a Misunderstanding, An Act of Love, and other fics of mine, I realised that the way the narratives proceed in those stories probably sets up a certain expectation that makes the structure here somewhat surprising -- in RaM and AAoL, sometimes three or more chapters cover the events of one day, and in RaM, although there are occasionally days skipped, it is almost a day-by-day account of events over two months, with occasional runs of chapters that go back and cover previous years; in AAoL, the story covers essentially less than a week, and is also a day-by-day account. "Death's Dominion," on the other hand, is structured differently from RaM or AAoL because the day-to-day action is much less important. It is fast-moving and will cover almost two years in a relatively short number of chapters, none of which is particularly long. It's definitely more psychological drama rather than action-adventure! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
Oh, quite good. And, easy to see why Robbie is a threat. Dear Luna; she's such a wildcard, isn't she, even when there isn't danger, but she's fun; it's good to see her. Perhaps she and Hermione will listen to each other - they would balance each other out. Ack, if Harry would only learn perhaps to tolerate Snape, or to trust Minerva, at least; has she ever led him wrong? But then, I suppose, pigs would take to wing. Thank you for the chapter explanations! Happy writing.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I'm glad you liked it! We'll learn more about Snape's feelings about Robbie in the next chapter. (And your welcome for the chapter explanations!)Thanks for the review! I always enjoy them. Later!
This is a complicated and unhappy situation. I do not understand why, in canon, Dumbledore did not share the information about Horcruxes with a few select Order members. He seemed to rely an awful lot on the Prophecy to make things come to pass in some way that would make it possible for Harry to be in the right place at the right time to bring Voldemort to his end. Your version of book seven differs in some very interesting ways from canon. Snape being in a position where he is not trusted by Voldemort, Minerva as Headmistress, the trio back at Hogwarts. I like this. Feel free to post early and often!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I found many things puzzling about late canon. I will try to keep up the pace of posting, but I'm still shifting bits of it around, so if it slows down, it's because I am moving things about.I'm glad you are enjoying it! Thanks very much!
Great chapter, but Minerva should listen more to Severus. He has more experiance in war matters than she does because of his spying status.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Precisely what Severus was thinking in the prologue. But she is listening to him, as you shall see. Thanks for reviewing! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. The next should be up on Sunday. Till then, hope you have a great weekend!
Because the RaM universe is AU in regards to the Deathly Hallows, is Harry still seeking the Horcruxes and Hallows? Is he seeking something else? Anyway, this was a great chapter, and I am quite anxious to see where this story leads! I can't wait until the next update!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I'm very glad that you enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next update! (BTW, in terms of AU, you might refer to the author's notes.)Thanks much for the review! I always appreciate them!
Response from diana_hawthorne (Reviewer)
Why didn't I think of that? Thanks!
Though this is an interesting interlude, with plenty of action and information, it has an overall grim feeling, very appropriate to the grief the characters must be feeling at the moment. Minerva seems her usual gruff self, and I suppose she's just buttoned up her grief to focus on the business at hand. Harry seems unusually passive, for him, and I suppose that's his grief, too. I'm glad he's gotten past the petty obnoxiousness of the funeral scene, which I always found annoying about his character in canon, though I suppose it's typical for a teenaged boy. Thanks for another great chapter, I'm looking forward to more.
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
He tends to be less bratty with McGonagall, I think, and he hasn't any particular reason that we know of to dislike Robbie, and he's only just met Melina -- top that off with the fact that he's happy to be leaving the Dursleys, and he'll behave a bit better. And, as you say, he is grieving and also trying to figure out what to do next now that both Sirus and Albus are gone AND he'll be of-age very soon. The seriousness of his situation is weighing on him, I think. And let's face it, he has a real unreasoning prejudice against Snape, hence his unpleasant behavior at the Headmaster's funeral. (I actually found his willingness at the end of Book 7 to view the memories and then have a sudden change of heart about Snape really . . . odd. Not that I don't think that he could have a change of heart about Snape, because I do, I just thought it was very sudden. But what do I know?)I'm glad you caught the grim feeling there. I was hoping it would come across as a kind of subtext.Thank you for reviewing! I really appreciate reading your comments!
Now that's the way JKR should have written Harry's final departure from the Dursley's house. I swear, she screwed up so many t hings in her last books...don't even get me started. Okay, rmini-rant over...now back to the review. LOLRobbie is a sweetie. I'm glad he went ahead and got Harry's photos, if nothing else. Even though I'm not overly fond of Harry, I'd hate to think of him losing the photos and of course Hedwig is super important. Alroy McAirt teaching...how cool is that???? I adore how all your stories are linked together. You could put them all in sequence and have one monumental and outstanding series. I hope you update again soon.GLM
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I'm glad you liked this version of Harry's departure from the Dursleys. I'd like to believe that the Order wasn't completely incompetent and amateurish, overcomplicating things to the point of creating a huge mess and creating a perfect opportunity for Voldy to attack and take out Order members, even if Harry manages to escape unharmed. Of course, my version isn't seat-of-the-pants exciting as hers was, and we don't have all those enchanting Death Eaters killing off characters, but I do like my version myself!Robbie is sweet here, being that thoughtful. Glad you like Alroy teaching. Of course, Quin did promise Minerva his services or those of his son or daughter, so I'm sure Alroy was pleased to hop to when Minerva called upon him -- not to mention that Minerva was his favorite teacher! (But we are getting way ahead of ourselves here! haha!)I'm glad you like the way the stories link together. I think you can read them all as separate fics if you haven't read Resolving a Misunderstanding, though. I try to write them that way, for the most part. There will obviously be things that have more meaning or resonance for people like you who've read RaM and the others, but they should still be enjoyable reads on their own. Thanks for the review! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
I am rather shocked that Petunia would stand up to Vernon and be supportive of this plan, but I like the twist. Well Done. Irish
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Thanks, Irish! She also doesn't want to die or see Dudley murdered, so that's a bit of an incentive, too.
Interesting chapter - are Quin, Malcolm, Brennan, Gertie, and Murdoch going to be in the story? This was a great chapter - I'm glad that Petunia is finally doing the right thing! I can't wait until the next update!
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
You shall see, in time. It's not a long thing, like RaM, or even AAoL, and Severus is the focus for most of it. I'm glad you enjoyed it and are looking forward to the update!
Very good chapter. Glad to see Robert & Melina again, and also - I assume the possibility? - Alroy. He 'dreamed of the dead'; I'll bet Harry did, he's been through enough. Yet, it's too bad that he doesn't even imagine the dreams that others have of them. I do like Harry, but he's momentarily too caught where he cannot see others and their grief, which could help everyone. Your detail is exquisite, the way Petunia & Dudley knew, but Vernon knew nothing, the boys' clothing, & even Minerva's inability to persuade - she's too blunt; Albus had that gift - rings true. While I cannot guess at what comes next, I do sense that it is important. Again, a good chapter. Thank you! (I must admit to confusion when first reading, even having read the summary; I didn't realize it went forward, not back. Usually I'm good with subtle directions; perhaps I need signage! Long day, but a good way to end it!)
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
Some of the chapters do hop back a bit, but these first few do go chronologically (although obviously the events of the Prologue occurred between chapters 2 & 3), as do the next couple, though we do learn of some of the earlier events in those chapters, as well. We'll get a bit of a peek at Alroy, yes, so you can look forward to that a ways down the road.I'm very glad you enjoyed the chapter, and the Dursleys. Thanks for the review,
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
! Till next time, then!
Oh, excellent. What everyone else has said about this being a better strategy than what The Other Writer came up w/, and a better Petunia. And I love Robbie going back for Harry's album for him. Of course he understands. It's also very fitting that Robbie taught Transfig the previous year, that he would, if for a year, fill Albus's shoes, given Albus's role in his life. It will be interesting to see what the new role is he is to fill. Is he the 'shadowy figure' you speak of in the summary? Alroy as the new prof of transfiguration--glad we get to see him. And if Robbie and Alroy are around, can Quin be far off, if he's still alive (which he should/could be by age, as he's much closer to Min's age than Albus's, IIRC, and a very strong wizard himself)? Patience, I know, patience. Not one of my strong suits.Good that Melina's in the story too. All my favourite RaM characters! (I do hope Quin reappears....and maybe even Gertrude...but I know I can't necessarily have everything!)
Response from MMADfan (Author of Death's Dominion)
I'm glad that you are intrigued! And I won't remind you to be patient, as you already have done that! lolWe will catch some glimpses of a few of the other RaM characters. Thanks very much for the review!
