The honeymoon is definitely over. But I like the way he took care of her when she was ill. It was so sweet like a future father a bit anxious. Or a lot in this case.

Excellent chap. Loved the meeitng with the parents, their reactions being very traceable. H&S' talk afterwards was very, uh touching. Gave him something to mull over, I guess.

Oh, Poor Severus.  After everything else he has been accused of, now he is a "Dirty old letch."  LOL!   I guess it is a good thing that they didn't bring up the marriage and the pregnancy at that particular meeting.I like H & S's discussion at the end of this chapter.  Yes, Severus, someone can really love you despite your flaws and nasty bits.  I hope he ponders her words and digests them thoroughly.  Good chapter!

Well the parents did not take the age difference well did they but it was still a good scene and then when he called her my lovely and declared they would be an unequal partnership until the war ends.... Pregnant women are hormonal - witches are probably hormonal.... Severus is treading on hormonal grounds so to speak - it is a wonder she did not hex him at that point - lol.

I'm glad that the meeting with Hermione's parents is now over with. I cannot believe Severus told them his real age! However, they'd have to learn the truth sometime. I guess it's better to learn his age now than when they also learn that she's pregnant and married. I wonder whether they'd be more disappointed that she's pregnant or married. Hopefully the war will be over before she gives birth.

That was exactly what Hermione needed to say to him! Severus had to hear that she cared for him beyond the enchantment. Being honest with him is awkward at first, but the results down the line are worth it.

Loved it!  Laughed at the "Slytherin’s head blew up" remark.  Glad the baby's okay.  One thing I noticed though,  in this part:Harry spoke up this time. “A particularly nasty curse that’s supposed to slowly drain your magical power. Thankfully, Hermione and I had shields up when it detonated, deflecting it mostly. The Healers say we’ll all be back to normal strength in a couple days. We should be released shortly.”There's no mention of Ron.  Does that mean he didn't shield himself and will lose all his power?  Looking forward to the next!

I finally figured out what those potions were. They were to counteract the contraception potions Hermione has been taking. It was to ensure she would become pregnant. I feel stupid for not figuring it out sooner. Bill, I think, would be an excellent confidante for Hermione, if she would allow it. He's very perceptive about what's going on, without being told directly.  I'm glad Severus is happy about Hermione's pregnancy, regardless of the fact that Voldemort was going to order it anyway. I hope she figures it out soon, though.

You know it is a good thing that Severus realizes Hermione is not going to be happy when she figures out what is going on, but I still think he may underestimate her response.  Add hormone fluctuations to Hermione's natural disposition at being kept in the dark and all I can say is that Severus better be good at ducking.  Whatever happens I am sure she will forgive him in the long run.  I look forward, as always, to your next installment.  Thanks, JoAnne

I am shocked Bill did not spell it out. The scene at the orphanage was interesting and her fall was scary. I thought for sure she was going to be knocked out - good chapter.

Well it looks like they found one - in the old orphanage - good idea. I loved they way you had them comb through it section by section - made the story very interesting

Watch out, Severus!  Don't mess with an angry hormonal witch!  I don't think I've reviewed this before, but I just love this story!

My eternal romantic character is extactic to finally have confirmation that she's pregnant. But you said in the last note that she got pregnant before Voldemort's orders. I thought He already said so to Severus a couple of chapters ago (chap 33: “Impregnate her.” It wasn’t a possibility, or a suggestion, but a direct command.) and that's why Severus gave her the potions (Chap 35: "A moment later, he produced two vials of liquid."). If not I really wonder why Severus would have done such a thing, as it could be really dangerous for her. Or is it to give her a reason to survive were he to die? (Chap 35: “I swear to you that it will benefit us, even if it doesn’t seem so at first. Consider it insurance.”)So far I love the story: it's very good but very mysterious too.

I wonder how long Bill will wait before he mentions the pregnancy. At least he didn't mention it in front of the boys. He probably figured she'd mention it to them when she felt ready. Bill might tell Fleur, who then might mention it to someone else. Does the entire Order know that Hermione has a significant other? Well, they will once they find out about her pregnancy.

I think Hogwarts needs to have a sex education class, at this rate everyone else will know Hermione is pregnant before she figures it out!Nice chapter!
