I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.

About time Severus sod the pride!.. although it's no good telling her when she is unconscious. But maybe it might come back to her when she wakes (I HOPE SHE WAKES!!)Been looking forward to this update and now even more for the next one. x.x.x

I can't believe a man that intelligent would have left a suicidal girl alone sobbing on the floor. I hope he truly does start to make up for it.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
He is so emotionally stunted, he was as helpless as she. Although this has really shaken him up. He has a lot to do and make up for and he will spend the rest of the fic showing her how sorry he is and how much he loves her. He won't be perfect, but he will be honest when he is wrong and start again. She won't make it easy on him, but he doesn't deserve easy. Thanks,Livvy

That was a beautiful confession! I really hope that she heard it on some level!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
She did hear it. But she doesn't believe him. She distrusts everything he says. It isn't not going to be easy for them, but they will have to work it out - oh, and destroy Voldie and his mind connection to Ginny - but that's no problem! LOL! :)Thanks,Livvy

Great. A blind man on crutches could have guessed what she would do, as she had done so several times in the past. Alas, poor old Severus in his toddler tantrum couldn't think but of his own problems. I fully understand Harry's reaction. "I'm so sorry, I really didn't want this to happen" is a lame excuse worthy of a ten year old.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yup, Snape has definitely gone and done his worst. But the good news is that he will work pretty damn hard to convince her of his love. She won't make it easy on him, and he will continue to screw up at times, but he will come back and admit where he screwed up. Severus is going to undergo a metamorphasis that will be very interessting. Thanks!Livvy

Well FINALLY!!! Of course he finally admits his feelings and I wonder if Hermione can hear him?????? I hope it's not too late for our couple.

It will take time. I won't be a quick fix, but he truly loves her and knows he has been a world-class-prick. He will continue to work with her and remind her she is the one he wants, just the way she is. It will take time for her to sort herself out, because it all really has to do about her own self-loathing.Thanks,Livvy

I think that is your most beautifle and difficult written chapter .Severus should know that affter so much stress Hermione will try to cat her self for relasse and he should stay to help her throw . I realy hope that in next chapter things will clear up betwine them .
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
He will be remaining by her side and actively working with her to get her to see the worthlessness in cutting is. Call it Occupational Therapy. He will continue throughout the rest of the fic to remind her again and again, no matter how many times he needs to say it that she is beautiful and he loves her exactly for who she is, but encourage her to love herself as well. Thanks!Livvy

Wow, this must have been a rough chapter to write. It is certainly tough to read. Well done.

Oh livvy6, I don't know what to say. Speechless, sobbing silently. This was terrible and so beautiful at the same time. Thank you! /M

I'm glad you were touched by it. He truly loves her and will continue to work hard to prove that. His pride will at times get in the way out of habit, but he will always come back to admit whrere he was wrong and continue to do right by Hermione. I guess it needed to take this to shake him and realize how depressed and unraveled she is.Thanks,Livvy

Go Ginny, about time that someone told him that he dose not have the right to hurt people because he was hurt. I hope this opens Severus's eyes that he was treating Hermione just as he was treated in his school years, and will finally give Hermione the help she needs. I hope he will also help Ginny deal with Voldi's manipulation in to her mind. Great chapter as usual, looking forward to where you will take us next.

Wow! So much has happened in this chapter... it's like a seismic shift has taken place. The days leading up to Valentine's Day brought Snape a greater understanding of himself. As he observed the snogging students hidden in alcoves, "more than one hurtful memory of all that had been denied to him at that age. In the midst of it all, however, he realized just how much he had had enjoyed keeping his vigil over Hermione, especially as she had started spending more time alone in the library."Lavender and Ron's ill fated attempt to buoy Hermione's frame of mind went badly wrong and created an almost panic state in the troubled young witch. I'm not entirely certain where the choking vine of Ginny's rage has come from. I think it has grown from multiple seeds: • her innate dislike of the snarky Potions Master because of his demeanor and treatment of the students for all these years.• her fear for her friend. Knowing how much Hermione loved Snape and how the brilliant witch had done everything to win the Professor's approval and his heart only served to fan the flames of her dislike for the him.• her knowledge of her own complicity in the events because she did not tell anyone about Voldemort's invasion of her dreams.• Hermione's confessing to her about what had taken place when she was abducted and its aftermath.Ginny "fixed her enraged face back onto Snape. “She loved you! She only wanted you to love her in return! Why did you have to hurt her so badly?” ..... “You’ve blamed Harry for everything his dad and Sirius did to you as kids. Well, I’m turning the tables on you, Snape! I’m going to blame you for all the pain Hermione has experienced. And if she ends up killing herself, it’ll be your fault!”There is no doubt that Snape needed to be confronted about the things he said to Hermione after they had arrived at Andromeda's house, but the way I see it, there is plenty of blame to go around... for all of them. This is such a wonderful tale, and I can't wait to find out what will happen next! Great writing, livvy!Beth

The part of Ginny's feeling of complicity - that is very true. I believe she feels responsible for the things that set this whole nightmare into motion. But she knows that Snape was so way out of order. Thanks!Livvy

Interesting turn of events. McGon is WRONG this time, its time someone else got to lay a few punches in there, even though it looks as though Tom may have a hand in the goings-on. At least this Ginny isn't a jealous bwitch, so many times she is.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
No, she is just in a rage over what Snape did and she also (i think) feels some guilt over the situation. Thanks,Livvy

You're right -- that was huge. I can see the root of Ginny's frustration though. If I were her, his comments would sound a little hollow, too.

McGonnagal needs to get over herself. Ginny really had every right to say what she did, but she should have told someone about the dreams.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yes, she should have and that is what concerns Dumbledore. Things are going to have to move swiftly now that the cat is out of the bag. Thanks!Livvy

WOW! I wonder if some of that primal magic is a projection from Voldemort? What possesed Ginny to not say anything to anyone?I actually think half the blame of Hermione's illness though now lays with Dumbledore... he kept Severus from speaking to Hermione. If they had been able to speak there could have potentially been some healing.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Well, Dumbledore only kept him from taking points and assigning detention to her. It wasn't as if he could not say a word to her. He did that himself with his pride and shame. But Ginny was threatened by Voldemort/Tom that if she told, he would kill her family and if I were her and had family members killed in the past by the guy, I'd be keeping my mouth shut too.THey will sort this all out. It will just take time. Thanks,Livvy

I guess I misunderstood because this is what was in Chapter 6: “For now, I want you to observe. I want you to analyze how Miss Granger acts and reacts—think of it as empirical observation. I only want you to intervene if you see or sense she is damaging herself again. Other than that, you are not to speak to her. You will take no house points from her, nor will you assign detention. I will speak with Minerva about this. Now, have I been clear?”From the bolded section I took it to mean he could speak to her and in anyway attempt to rectify his mistakes. Sorry
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Thanks for pointing that out I did not mean to write speak, but to correct her or discipline her. I was thinking about the times when he would be watching her closely, he wasn't to let Hermione know that she was being watched. I'll make that correction. Thanks!Livvy
