I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.

Oh, I am so happy to see this on here! It feels like it's been so long since we started it!!!I agree with your other reviewers--the premise is very different!
And I just love the artwork! Great touch!

Well, I wasn't expecting to cry at this chapter, but Hermione's self-loathing really touched my heart. I think sometimes it's hard for us to see good in ourselves in general, and with Hermione's low self-esteem, she was ripe for plummeting off the edge. Snape, no matter what his motives, had no right to say what he did to her. I'm sure he doesn't realize how fragile a state she is in about her self-esteem (or lack thereof.) But such horrid things should never be said to anyone. The poor girl is spiraling into a hellish oblivion. Such a horrible way to torture one's self. Nicely written, but incredibly disturbing.

Yes, it is and it will take a lot for Hermione to crawl out of it. I hope you continue to like where I take this. Thanks!Livvy

great chapter. I can't wait to read the next one. I know exactly how Hermione felt in this chapter, I used to be a cutter, I used to have the same ugly thoughts about myself too. Sometimes I still do. Severus is being a total heel in this story, but his snarky git ways are why we love him so much right? I love this story though and I can't wait to read more.

Right back at ya! I was a cutter, still have a couple light scars on my inner forearms and wrists. It's been eight years since I stopped. It's very hard to stop, but I had to, otherwise my famiy was going to put me away, so I turned into a more familial accepted way of dealing with pain: alcoholism. It's hard when you have those thoughts running in your head and when the people around you seem to prove what you've always dreaded about yourself. I hope this story might bring you some comfort. Thanks for being so brave to admitting to your disease-because it is a disease. The comment I hated the most was-"Just stop doing it!" People who say that don't understand. As for Snape, nothing is what it seems with him, is it? He will regret ever saying those words to her. *HUGS*Livvy

that is exactly right, people think that stopping is so easy, it wasn't and it still isn't easy to resist doing it again at times. I have a 4 1/2 year old son who is autistic and so that makes it even more difficult to resist some days. My parents did take me to a hospital when I was younger. I was in 10th grade at that time. it has been 8 years since i have cut as well, almost 9. I come from a christian family so I threw myself into church but even with my faith it is still hard some days. anyways, I am sure that this story will bring me tons of comfort and Severus is definately not what he seems. I can't wait to read More!!!

Sounds like they both need a bit of counselling!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Hermione needs help, definately. She needs to tap into her anger and start kicking ass! Dumbledore seems to be a bit docile in this chapter, but you wait- he's going to sock it to Severus :)Thanks,Livvy

Hermione! No! Snape, the bastard! Livvy, how are you going to save them?!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Oh, yes, Snape can always be counted on to be the world's biggest jerk at the worst moments. Yet, all is never what it seems with him, is it? As always there is more to the story. Next chapter is in the queue! Thanks,Livvy

Wow that was so powerful and so filled with emotion it left me breathless. How could he do that to a young woman. I know he belives she was to young to be in the order but still it seems so wrong to tear her down like that. Hermione also must take some blame and find a back bone and stand up for herself, and realize she did nothing wrong, mistakes happen that we do not always have controle over and must talk to some one about this. This was a great chapter, if this is how all the chapters are in this story I will need to ask Severus for a calming potion before I read them. Great job looking forward to the next one.

LOL! Oh, that was funny. Severus is going to wind down a bit, but the next chapter-whoa- hold on to your socks because Snape is still very much in bastard mode. But don't worry, he shall be humbled. As for Hermione, she will have to come to terms with her own responsibility for her choices. She will have to stand up and "find that backbone".Thanks for reviewing!Livvy

Oh God. Thats awful that she feels that way. I know that it must be so true to come to those conclusions when you have no one to talk to though. This fic is so good, heart wrenching but very well written. I am patiently waiting for Chapter 3! Cheers! ~Brena

Thank you! Yes, things are low,and Chapter three will be another journey into Severus bastard mode. However, things are not what they seem! Thanks,Livvy

Great chapter, my only question is who will find her?
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Ah, Hermione is a smart cookie. She's not wanting to die, just gain some control over her life. She is going to keep on ticking and keep this secret-for a while at least. Thanks!Livvy

This was a very disturbing chapter to read. Self loathing is very destructive. As always beautifully written. Many thanks
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Yes, self-loathing, cutting, self-mutilation is very hard to read, it is even more difficult to be the person who does these things. Hermione is strong. She will not remain like this forever. Thanks,Livvy

Wow! That was an intense chapter. I'm so heartbroken for Hermione. I wonder if Snape is being like this because he cares or that he really is a "unmitigated bastard"?? Can't wait to read an updated chapter soon.
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Ha-ha...that is the question, isn't it? Why is Snape being such a ruddy jackass? We'll find out soon.Next chapter is in the queue. Thanks,Livvy

A very promising start. Snape - absolute bastard but to be honest if he's been playing that role for 20 years you have to wonder about his sanity. Look forward to more...

wow. what a beginning. I can't wait to read more. the sad thing is i think that is exactly the way Snape would act. I love him and all, but he is a beast. can't wait for more!
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
He does use that bastard act as a front, doesn't he? or does he? He's such a mystery, that's why I love reading and writing about him Damn JKR!Livvy
Response from snapefan2007 (Reviewer)
lol, i think that's why he's my favorite character. he has that air of mystery about him and he's got a bad boy attitude, but inside you don't really know... if he were a real person i would marry him... well, if i weren't married that is...

He is being so amazingly horrible. Are you sure a relationship can be recovered from this?
Response from livvy6 (Author of Longing)
Everything is not what it seems, but yes, Snape did cross the line. He has a lot to answer for. Thanks!Livvy
