Variety Challenge first runner up. Hermione Granger is given a Time-Turner and instructions to use it. Only, using a Time-Turner can be a little tricky if not used correctly: a mistake made in counting or a slip of fingers can make the user jump irregularly and thus she could accidentally alter her time line. And when such an accident happens, Severus Snape uses Hermione’s Time-Turner in order to fix a horrific wrong. However, it’s his younger self that becomes the one who must ensure that history is not altered.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”― Maria Montessori
“Our imagination flies -- we are its shadow on the earth.”― Vladimir Nabokov
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”― Albert Einstein
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.” ― Carl Sagan
Reviews for Consequences of Meddling with Time
I like that Severus is developing a real respect for Hermione. Good chapter -- It's always nice to see him laugh!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yes, she's making an impact on him, and developing a real friendship. I like having him laugh, too. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
This only becomes more interesting as it developes. I can hardly wait to find out what is going on in the adult Snape's mind as he has to deal with Hermione in school.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. You'll have to wait until she returns to her time to find out. Thank you very much for the review and the pretty stars.
That was great. Will anything exciting happen on this trip? And will all of this affect her present day interactions with Snape?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. Oh, I have a few things planned I hoep you will enjoy. But as far as affecting Snape, I can't answer that now, can I? You'll have to wait and see. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
Well that was entertaining. Another good chapter under your belt. I can't wait for the next one.Sevibaby

Thank you very much. I sent SW the next cahpter this morning. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
Yay for another chapter! I am a bit surprised that no one is questioning the amount of detention Hermione is finding in Snape's class. But I guess the Slytherins love seeing a Gryffindor get in trouble so they don't question, and her housemates are too busy feeling sorry for her to notice.I haven't a clue how she keeps everyone's schedules straight, but I suppose it is Hermione we are talking about. Thank goodness for her.I like the subtle little ways in which they are regaining their old relationship. He allows her to help him in his classroom and she does the work willingly. She speaks up when he is taking his anger out on her, and he listens (although he probably doesn't want to) and addresses her as an equal, not punishing her for speaking disrespectfully to a professor. It's just little things that make their relationship of old shine through. Hopefully when this war mess is over, you will be kinder to Snape than that other woman was, and these two can pursue a friendship, or whatever kind of relationship they choose.I did enjoy the scene where Hermione disillusioned Harry. Her friends were stunned. Let's hope they don't start asking too many questions.Last, I loved Umbridge getting locked out of the head's office, and the staff turning a blind eye. Just what she deserves!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
You are most welcome. Yep, that’s pretty much what’s going on, Slytherins loving seeing a Gryffindor getting into trouble, and her housemates feeling sorry for her but at the same time glad it’s not them.
Hermione uses her revision guide and color codes everything. Now if someone doesn’t tell her their schedule when she asks, that’s on them if they miss a meeting.
I’m delighted that you like the subtle way that the familiarity is seeping back into their relationship. It’s still student/teacher, but yes, he cares, more than he’d like to or that he’d admit to anyone. However in private he doesn’t feel the need to be as guarded around her, he’s still reserved and secretive, but it’s the two of them – much like it was and could be. That is the influence of the past friendship coming out. It will and has had a dramatic change in him, and no, I’m not that other woman. lol
I’m delighted that you liked the scene of Hermione’s lesson with Harry and the Weasley boys. Nope, no questions. Everyone knows she learned it from a book. *cough* Mad-Eye Moody. lol
Me too, that was a favorite mention in the books so I really love using it in my fanfic stories when I can. Serves the Toad right.
Thank you for reading and for the review. I love your opinions and thoughts. Hugs.
oh dear, sad sad. I can't wait to read what happens next.

LOl ah well. Thank you for readign and for the review.
That was a close call!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yep. Thank you for readign and for the review.
Woohoooooo! A new chapter! I had a skim through the rest of the story first too - it's progressing very well and I can't wait to read more!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you so much for saying that! I'm writing this as a psycological piece, and playing therapish for these two, so I have a lot to 'work on'. I'm glad that it's not boring. Thank you so much for the review and good news - I'll have another one ready soon!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
oops - smacks self on head - where is my mind? Plight-Trothed Bride is the psychological one, this is the complicated, mutiple time jumps, mutiple time line story. *smacks head* I'm glad that you like how there friendship and student/teacher realtionship seem to blurr every so often. Yes, he likes her, but she's still too young, and he misses her in a way and feels he has to be sly when he wants her around. But things are changing and in time... who knows what I'll do. lol Thank you for reading and for the review. (forgive my eariler stupidity, it's late here and past my bedtime. Yes, that's my excuse.)
Response from magicalpresence (Reviewer)
Hehe that's perfectly fine! I'm in awe at how you're writing three stories at once and it just so happens that I love them all! I'm interested to see what Severus thinks about (but doesn't say) because he's still quite mean to her! It's also got to be difficult for her to be older and in a teenagers body (although I'm sure some women wouldn't mind at all) she's actually having to ACT the teenager too - that's the annoying part. Extremely well written :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
In my version Hermione is a teenager. She was only with Severus about a month and three weeks, but it was enough to leave a lasting impression on both of them. Her use of the Time-Turner to repeat lessons and extend her day to complete assignments also lenghtened her year, but it was still the same year, and although both Dumbledore and Mr. Latimer were keeping track of how much she used it and how many times she jumped back, no one else was. She was fourteen her third year and had a fourteen year-old's mind and attitude - well, normal for Hermione - and it's not like in A Change is Going to Come by livvy6 when she was stuck in the past.(Although I love her version as well.) So I'm not doing the 'having to act like a teenager' bit so much as showing that she's a bit moer mature at times, and with certain situations, than her contemporaries. And she now understands Severus better than she had, isn't afraid of him anymore and trusts shim... for now. There is sixth year, you know and I'm not changing canon that much.
Response from magicalpresence (Reviewer)
Oh yes! I definitely get that she's more mature. I love how they've started to become more friendly with each other. It's got to be difficult for Severus!
Well, it's definitely fascinating. I can't wait to read more. I really hope you are a fast writer. :)Cheers

Prolific, but still learnig the SP&G things needed for posting on this site. However, I'm plugging along and will have another to submit soon. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Very neat. Although I really wasn't expecting Hermione to die. That threw me for a loop!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. Sorry, about the death, but something really huge was needed to get Severus to act and this was what my mue told me to write. However, there's hope! Thank you for the review. Happy reading!
Loved it! I really liked how Hermione and Severus figured out when the DA should meet, and how Severus is working out which of his Slytherins may or may not join the Dark Lord in time. I also liked how Hermione and Severus discussed Harry's Occulumency lessons, and what approach would be most profitable. I felt bad for Hermione, though, when he declined to teach her, too. (LOVED when Hermione taught the boys the Disillusionment charm.)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yes, it's was about time that he took charge of the group. lol Besides, as he told her, he knows what they face. Yeah, that bit with the charm was fun to write. Thank you for reading and for the review.
I like the way Hermione is becoming more assertive with Severus, and he is allowing it. :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm glad. Things are coming along. It's taken a lot (and I've been playing therapist with them, too) to get them this far along. He's allowing her to be assertive because he knows it's for the best. He wears the pants, but it's nice to let another choose/lead once and a while. Thank you for the review.
I love the way Hermione and Severus interact in private.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm so glad. Thank you for reading and for the review.
Oh, you've just made my weekend. Thanks for the gift of a new chapter. Now I'll read it. I'll get back with ya.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm so glad! Hope you're having a gtreat weekend. Happy reading.
Seems they're getting used to one another. And he's missing her already. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Yep, they're are - and they are such a good match. I hope to have the next chapter up soon - the one that answers the questions raised by chapter 4! Thank you for the review,

I loved this chapter! Seeing how Severus was as a boy is terrific. His love of books and learning mirrors Hermione's, and his efforts to avoid any contact with Messrs Black, Potter, et al. is completely understandable. I liked how easy it was for him to decide to go back to the castle. He didn't want to be inside all day, but it was a wonderful opportunity for him and Hermione to visit some of his favorite places and for him show her the Hogwarts that was so special to him. The unicorns were a special treat. They had a real adventure when they tried to get back inside the castle. I had to laugh when Avery came into the showers. I thought Severus was going to have a stoke. Hee hee. His "second shower of the week" remark was too funny. "The things I do for this girl!"It's clear that they are becoming really fond of each other. His awkwardness during their goodbye was sweet. When he realized that holding her gave him a good feeling, I thought, "Yes! This is exactly what Severus needs!"Fun chapter, and I'm looking forward to the next one.Beth
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you, brayer. I'm enjoying typing Severus as a young man, I can have bits of Professor Snape come out, but he can be nice and playful with her as well. The hike was a lot of fun to type. I'm glad you liked the unicorns.Well, I couldn't have a totally perfect day, and having Avery butting in made it fun. Even forcing Severus to shower was a hoot. I have read a bit of what 'life' is like in VIctorian mill town homes, row houses that are two up and two back, with a common bath in the back of the houses, probably communial. I'd hate taking a bath too if I had to go out in the rain and cold to get to the bathhouse. brrrr grrrr. So taking one a week seems to fit with Severus' background and it wasn't uncommon for people in the Victorian age to bathe once a month.
Thank you for the review. I hope to have another for you real soon.
She's hooked him, but he doesn't know yet.I liked the comedy of errors in the shower. That could have been much worse than it was. LOLAnother great chapter.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
He's hooked her as well, I think. lolYes, the comedy in the Slytherin commonroom, showers even seeing Severus' bed - I could have made it a unmitigated disaster, but chose not to. Thank you for the review.
This is great. I love the challenges because thay always produce some great stories, but I miss being able to click on a name to read your other stuff. This chapter left me wanting more, but that's a nice frustration to have.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. I hope to have more for you very soon, and in Sept, I'll be revealed! Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
awwww, the ending was especially sweet with the hug an dmissing each other. but i think avery definately will be more suspicious of snape now.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
lol, He's not uesed to the affection of wanting to hug someone 'good-bye' and he's a teenager, so it's awkward. BUt thanks to the diary, he knows she's coming back. Thank you for the review, agian,

lol This time he'd actually grew to like her so the parting was a bit more awkward. It's not so much as suspecious, but Severus wasn't 'around' doing things so much this last two weeks, but things will be back to 'normal' now - until she comes back. Thank you for the review,

This chapter had so much going on, I had to reread it twice, and I still managed to miss parts on the third go! I really enjoyed the adventure. I thought it was very sweet and considerate of Severus to get Hermione out of the castle for a little trek around the grounds. She seemed to appreciate it, especially the flora and fauna.I love how he bemoaned having been made to wash twice in one week like he was being hexed. lol And Oooo! A book on wandless magic, very interesting. Wonder what kind of mischief Severus will manage with that? I love how their friendship is growing and changing. She has gone from being a nuisance to him to someone he enjoys. Don't keep them apart too long, Mystery Author. :D
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
LOL wow I rated a third reading? I just imagined that she was getting stir crazy and he had wanted to take her to Hogsmeade with him, but couldn't, so this was a good option for them both. I'd have loved that hike with Severus too. I have read several interpretations as to Severus' hygene. And I have looked up what Victorian workers housing would be like, and mill town row houses... the 'two up and two back,' that Spinner's End seems to be and figured that if there was a 'shared bath' kind of thing, he'd hate bathing. Possibly grew up only bathing once a week, so it's his habit. The book - working that in a bit later.Yes, they are becoming friends, and yes, he finds her easy to be with. You'll have one chapter, #9, the 'answers chapter' then her third bounce back in time. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars,

Great chapter. The shower scene was very funny! :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much, sunny. It was fun to write. Thank you for the review.
Even in school Severus was skulking about. I was nice to see them out of doors. I think it was kinda bittersweet on how they said goodbye.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I keep trying to have anough Professor Snape in young Severus, because after all, they are the same character, only different ages. I had a good time writing the 'outing' scene and why he decided to take the risk. Besides, I used to love hiking as a kid, and could see Severus enjoying it too. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
I am really enjoying this story. The way Severus went out of his way to have an outing with Hermione and see to her needs was very sweet!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm glad that you are enjoying this story. It was fun to give them a outing. I used to love hiking, and I could see them both having a good time doing it. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
I think he can truly see the difference between Hermione and Lily. The awkward hug was adorable.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
OH, yes, it's hard not to see the difference. SInce Hermione and Severus have formed a friendship, and he's not all that used to physical displays of emotions, of course the hug was awkward. Thank you for the review and the pretty stars.
