Variety Challenge first runner up. Hermione Granger is given a Time-Turner and instructions to use it. Only, using a Time-Turner can be a little tricky if not used correctly: a mistake made in counting or a slip of fingers can make the user jump irregularly and thus she could accidentally alter her time line. And when such an accident happens, Severus Snape uses Hermione’s Time-Turner in order to fix a horrific wrong. However, it’s his younger self that becomes the one who must ensure that history is not altered.

I love to write. A dreamer, a creator and filled with wonder, imagination and life. Sometimes I get lost in the other worlds I've read and in some I create. It's all good, I’m in good company.

Thank you very much.
This is a great start to a story. I really hooked. I usually dislike time alterning stories, but I think I will very much enjoy this one.I do have two questions though: 1. Why did Hermione go further back in time if she knew she'd already gone too far back when she met adult Snape?2. How did the Slytherin boys know she was a Mudblood? Especially if they didn't know who she was? Plenty of purebloods are in Gryffindor.Other than those two things, I thought it was great. I was a little upset that you killed Hermione, until I remembered that Snape had her time-turner. So it was a nice twist/turn. I look forward to your next update.

Thank you very much. Gads, if you hate time latering stories, you'll hate this - things do get changed or some things get changed every time. Little things. I hope you like what I pull!1) she wasn't usig it right and miscaculated again, going backwards instead of forward as she wanted. That is why Time-Turners are not given to people to use - they are very complicated and delicate instruments.2) Either they accused her of being one just to be mean or they didn't recognize her and assumed. Either way, here was a lone and lost little Gryffindor and they wanted to punch one anyway to get back at Gryffindor (Potter and Black specifically) for Snape - and this was convenient. (Not exactly nice guys).I'm sory that I killed Hermione, but that timeline vanished the moment Severus went back in time.
I am hooked! What a interesting and well written first chapter, I am really, really looking forward to read more!

Thank you very much. I'm glad that you like this. I hope you like what I do next.
You're off to a good beginning! I can't wait to see where you take this story.Beth

Thank you. Hold on to your hat!
Wow ... this is definitely not your average Timeturner fic! I'm completely intrigued, I can't wait to see where you take us from here. Great start!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. I tried to come up with a new twist. I hope you like what I do next.
You are off to a promising start. I like the switch. Usually HG saves SS then they fall in love. They will fall in love, right?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Oh this is so not that - well, for not, but you never know what I'll do! Thank you for the review.
great beginning - I like it!!! looking forward to your next chapter!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you. Things get a bit twisted and confusing for the next two chapters... hold your hat on!
This story is addicting. Seriously, I started reading it this morning, and, every time I stepped away (running errands, playing with and feeding my toddler, etc.) I still thought about and wondered what would happen next. I really love how you give us just enough of a "review" of each task, but not so much that it's simply a retelling of the book. Nicely done. The jumps to the past were confusing at first, but that's what time paradoxes are supposed to be, right? And it eventually came to make sense, in a messing-with-time sort of way. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more interactions between Severus and Hermione, and I can't wait for the romance (though, hopefully that doesn't happen TOO soon). I love how clearly Severus sees Hermione as a younger sister right now. It takes away from the squickiness of a student/teacher relationship, while also opening the door for eventual changing and evolving of feelings. :-)Anyway, great writing! Waiting eagerly for the next chapters!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you. That is very flattering that you think so. I didn’t really want to rehash the book and except for a few non-canon interactions I wasn’t changing anything in the book – so I just skimmed over the parts we know.
I’m sorry that the jumps are confusing. If you look at the reviews for chapter 4 and 9 I do try and explain it for those who were confused, but yes, there are time paradoxes and timelines that are erased by other jumps that make new timelines… it’s confusing. Oh there will be more interactions between Severus and Hermione and yes, he still sees her as student, but the sister-like feelings are still going to be there. It hasn’t gone away, although he won’t admit it. Nope – for a while it’s teacher – student and he’s adamant about that distinction.
Thank you very much for the compliments, the fun review and the pretty stars. Happy reading!
Another fantastic chapter, as usual!

I continue to enjoy the interaction between Snape and Hermione. They are both being kind and respectful, and even borderline playful without crossing any boundaries. The end of her bloom must be a relief. And Ron better decide what and who he wants. Oh, the drama of being a teenager, lol.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm delighted that you are enjoying how I'm writing them. Nope, they are not crossing any boundaries, he can't, not just won't, but he can't do anything in appropriate. He's managed to teach for years and never cross that line. lol Yes, the end of her Bloom was a bit of a relieve, but then when men are attracted to a woman on her Bloom and feel the Allure, it can stick. It's why in 'the old times' girls were betrothed while on their Bloom. It made for some very good marriages, some. Ron? First it was Lavender, and Padma and who knows next lol Yep the drama f being a teenager.
Thank you for reading and for the review.

Poor Hermione. No boys notice you, and then every boy drools all over you. And it just keeps going. I like that she and Snape are getting to spend time together, and he doesn't have to sneak around or feel inappropriate about it because they aren't doing anything that would technically be frowned upon by the powers that be. I hope they can continue in that fashion.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I know, it's funny how the boys react. Yes, they are getting to have quality time together, and with apporval! Oh, it will for a while yet. Thank you for reading and for the review.

I've been sidetracked for far too long, and I am glad to be back reading. I love the charm bracelet idea. It certainly keeps people from having to come up with gift ideas, but it still allows them to give something meaningful to them, as in the unicorn and the memories it evokes. My favorite though is the pool scene. Could he be any more uncomfortable? Poor guy, protecting himself as much as he can, and probably more than is necessary. And she teases him more than she knows, just by being herself. Is the poor guy going to make it?Lovely art, by the way.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I'm glad that you liked the charms idea. And you're right, it allows some people to give something that's very personal or has a very personal meaning. I wanted to be able to have a reminder of their excursion together.
So you liked the pool scene? lol It was all sooo innocent! She wasn’t doing anything? lol But yes, poor guy, found himself in a situation that really tested his resolves. Time will tell if he’s about to keep it together. I’ll let Proulxes know you liked her picture. I’m still so tickled she drew it for me.
Thank you for reading and for the review.

I'm quite glad that you are choosing to not rehash the entire events of each task, but rather giving us just what we need. And sometimes with a little extra. I love how he is going to so much trouble to NOT help Harry.I'm really missing the Severus and Hermione interactions from the past, as I'm sure I've said a million times. This is one of the few times in a story where I don't necessarily care if they end eventually in romance. I'd just like them to be able to have that easy companionship they briefly shared. Part of me thinks that now that Voldemort is back, that will push him even farther away from her, and the other part thinks that meeting at Grimmauld Place, may afford them some alone time to reacquaint a bit. I don't know. As for the end, I'd like to think that Hermione will be a little more understanding than Lily was. But I like that even though he doesn't show her any affection, this tells us that he really cares about her, in whatever way.I'm dying here wanting to know how this will all play out ... but you've never let us down before so I will chill out a bit. But only a bit :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I wanted to only show enough to get through the year, and the interactions of his assistance to Harry through Hermione. I know you want another bounce back, and I to enjoyed the easy companionship of that relationship, the effects of which has begin to show in how he treats her. It’s not the same, but what I have in mind I think you’ll be all right with.
Hermione is very different witch than Lily. While both are talented, exceptionally kind (Hermione more so imho), Hermione isn’t hugely ‘popular’. And she forgives more readily. I’m busily working on year 5 and 6, (5 is taking longer than I anticipated, sorry) but it’s coming along. Thank you for reading and for your patience. I really appreciate your support.
Very nice chapter. You're doing an awesome job. Keep up the great work! ~Jen

Grrr! I knew that Pierre was too good to be true as soon as it was revealed he had "incredible turquoise eyes," just didn't realize how dastardly he'd be. Good thing Hermione's been training so diligently. It's paid off--so far.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
LOL By his eye color? That's funny - But yes, and you'll find out more about him in the next chapter. You're rright, it's a good thing she trained with Severus, but there are things in this chapter, things that are happening, that will be revealed in the next two (or three) chapters that expalin who she did as well. Thank you for reading and for the review.
I CANT BELIVE YOU WROTE THIS, ITS A GREAT STORY LOTS OF FLIP FLOPPING BACK AND FPRTH BUT I COULD KEEP UP.AND IN SO SHORT OF TIME I CAN ONLY GATHER THAT YOUR OTHER STORY " THE PLIGHT-TROTHED BRIDE IS GIVING YOU A FIT,IM SO SORRY THATS A GREAT STORY TAKE YOUR TIME IM SURE IT WILL WORK IT SELF OUT.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
huh? Nop my other story isn't giving me a fit? lol Did you have problems keeping up or not? i'm not sure the way you've worded this. But it's a Time-Turner fic and there are time paradoxes in it, especially in 4 and 9. This chapter (and the previous 2) hightlights events for year 4 - since I didn't think anyone really wanted me to rewrite the entire year. lol I'm sorry if you didn't like the story. But thank you for the review.
Response from PHONELADY (Reviewer)
OH I KEPT UP WITH TIME TURNER FIC IT WAS VERY GOOD. YOU DOING THE DANG THANG GIRL!! LET ME CLEAR UP MY LAST REVIEW I MENT THAT YOU WROTE THIS ONE SO FAST AND THE OTHER STORY SEEMS TO TAKING LONGER, BUT I LOVED BOTH THE STORIES I LIKE YOUR STYLE!!!!!
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Sometimes when I sit down the place where I'm at in the story just seems to roll through my fingers. That chapter just grew and the ideas were all lined up for me and I was able to jsut sit and type - so much I've 2 more almost ready to post on that one. That is what happened. It also happened with Self-Writing Parchment, I just found that everything, all the pieces fit and something I was going to put in later (a 2:00 am inspiration) fit in already. In fact two other 'partials' fit in so well... Sometimes the flow is there. Now I'm working on year 5 on this and although I have loads of partials and yet it's not coming together yet. grr but when it goes... Oh I'm looking forward to that.
It's very entertaining to follow how Severus seems to berate and hound Hermione while, at the same time, he gives her extremely useful information to pass on to Harry for the third trial. Well done, Beaweasley2. So, we're gotten past the three trials and are at the end of year four. I'm already pondering possible interactions for Severus and Hermione at the Order of the Phoenix headquarters. Could get extremely interesting. Any hints?I am a little confused by the last paragraph of this chapter. Has Severus told Voldemort more than he should (causing his feelings of betrayal) or is he ignorant of Dunbledore's desire for him to be a double agent? Or am I missing something else completely? Thanks for a very enjoyable story. And here's wishing you a dragon-sized chocolate egg.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked how I worked out his 'assistance' for 'helping' keep Harry alive, and keep his promise to Dumbleodre without helping Harry cheat. lol Yep, year four - done, year five is next...hints...?the library needs sorting out and the Dark Arts tomes removed or secured. Boggart. Droxies. Sirius and Remus. Good enough? oh, Umbridge.Sorry about the confusion. Hint: What Severus told Bellatrix in his house before he made that vow with Narcissa. I really doubt he'd have said those things to her unless the Dark Lord already knew the same things. So I put them in this chapter. So even if Bella blabs back to the Dark Lord after the vows - she doesn't have anything to hold over Severus. I'm sure she's not the only one wondering those same questions.Thank you very much for the review, the smily flower, wished for chocolate egg, and the stars! I love prezzies! Hugs~
Lol. I had completely forgotten about the eggs, I just remembered Ron saying "scarlet woman". I have a question, what the heck does t.b.c. mean? I've seen it and never thought to ask anyone. So anyway, great job so far, as always. Can't wait to see what comes next :)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
I used the eggs to give a time reference and show Hermione's thoughts of the skimpy egg. It would've hurt anyone's feelings. Thank you very much for the review and the pretty stars. Hugs~t b c = to be continued
I want to just take Severus and hold him and tell him that everything will be okay... Bea is on the case. I'm loving the way Severus continues to help Harry by helping Hermione. His feelings for her seem sto grow stronger every day!Thank you for this completely compelling an provacatice chapter, aned kjjjjjjjjkjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj, jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjm

Oh geeze, girl, this is the longest, and by that I mean linear, review I've ever seen. LOLOh LOLOhLOL
Yes, he's so hugable, and I'm glad you liked how he helped Harry. I mean, he wasn't going to help the kid cheat, so this was a feasible option, right? ><3 Altough, I dunno if its his feelings or not - He woudl still think of her as a kid, way to young and berate himself if he entertained any notion what so ever that were inappropreate, wouldn't he? She's only 14 or... 15. Yeah, too young. lolThank you for the review doll. btw - what does the kjjjjjjjjkjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj,thousand-j m, word mean?
That was a fantastic update with lots of S/H interactions. I love that. I just wonder... Is already aware that he is in love with her?
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much, I'm gald you enjoyed it. I dunno, do you think he does? He might still think she's still too young for him. teehehehe
He really needs someone to talk to. Hint hint! ;)
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
He's not exactly ready. But there is another year or two... lol Thank you for the review, sunny.
I love how Severus covertly helped Harry through Hermione all year. And I especially enjoyed it when Severus told her that she shouldn't care what other people think of her. So true!I love this story.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Thank you very much. It was the only way he could do it and not help Harry cheat. lol well, one way. It will be important that one line later. Thank you for the review, ClayP, and for the pretty stars.
I just want to hug Severus.
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Oh yes, he's huggable! Thanks for the pretty stars, blue.
I love that he's indirectly helping. Oh, if Harry only knew! LOLZ
Response from beaweasley2 (Author of Consequences of Meddling with Time)
Well, Dumbledore did make him promise to help keep the boy alive.... and that vow had nothing to do with Dragons! But yes, if Harry only knew... Thank you for the review,
