I was just wishing I could be a fly on the wall for Hermione's conversation with Severus. Silly, since in effect all readers will be...lol hope to see the next chapter soon.

I'm kind of surprised, but I think I'm actually proud of how Severus has acted in this chapter. He's been persistant but much more mature about the situation than he could have been. It seems that Hermione being able to sense his pain and stuff will start to really work for them soon. I love how he was right there to reply to her note.

Whew! I can't believe I read the whole thing! Almost in one sitting too!I'm waiting with baited breath to see what Severus has to say for himself. Love how it's so uncertain whether he's with or against Lucius....

Great chapter. Like other reviewers, I thought Hermione's letter was just the right tone. But now I want to know what Severus has to say!!When I was reading your description of Hermione's physical symptoms due to separation, all I could think was 'this seems strangely familiar'. I wrote a story (Colors) where HG and SS are bonded and go through 'withdrawl' if separated too long. Fan fiction is so amazing and eerie sometimes: two authors can independently come up with parallel ideas set within totally different plots. Such fun!

Oh awesome! :) I will have to go read it. Is it completed? (Lately I don't have time to follow WIPs... sadly.) Definitely hard to find unique ideas these days. I know that Harmony Bites started on a story a couple of years back and had a few chapters posted before she had to take a break. Some other author started writing a story and finished it months later. Along comes a reader who left a review for Harmony saying that she'd plagarized it! Of course she had to point out that she'd started posting first, but still... kind of sucked for her.The first time I read about the withdrawal type thing was a few years back on Ashwinder. It was nearly the end for Hermione when Lucius killed Snape (they couldn't live without each other), but luckily Dumbledore got the bond magic to help him bring Snape back through what was left in Hermione (or something similar). I kind of like the concept, but I won't make them go that far. Hahaha. If he dies (he won't), then she'll be free. ~grin~glad you like it enough to keep reading!!!

All I can say is Good for Hermione. I was really pleased that Narcissa's Oblivate didn't work. I am looking forward to see how Severus slithers his way out of this one. He hasn't been honest, has been helping Malfoy and is using her. IMHO.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
He's gonna try to slither. hehe I don't think she'll let that "slide" though. ~smile~ Thanks for reading.

Good chapter as always, Southern. I sincerely hope to read the next one soon! One small point of disagreement over the meaning of a word, though: "...flaring nostrils belied his anger."If he truly was angry, then the flaring nostrils betrayed his anger, making it obvious. A smile and a wink would have belied, or contradicted it.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
Yeah, I thought about the word usage when I chose it and figured some studious type might make a comment about it but stayed with my decision. See, the first part of the sentence before the comma where he's smug? I figure he doesn't look angry, just smug, but his true feelings are belied by the flaring nostrils. The flaring nostrils contradicts the smug expression.Or so I thought. Worded cheesily though.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
And I've been trying to re-word my sentence for the past twenty mintues and finally found something I approve of. I even pulled Litc into chat for opinions.I ended up with this:Ron's smug smile belied his anger, though Harry noticed the minute flaring of his nostrils, which usually meant trouble. --- I wanted the smug smile, belied, and anger in there, else I wouldn't have felt like I was conveying it right. hahaha
Response from Guinnevere (Reviewer)
Heh! Good answer! And I like the rewritten sentence. Way to go!

My heart wants Severus to be good. Well, not all the time, but at least 51% of the time.My head wants Hermione to defeat him with a holy, passionate, feminist wrath.I was nervous before reading the chapter, but now I'm relieved and craving more. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

I know exactly what you mean! I want Snape to be a good guy all the time, too. :) I still think he shouldn't be welcomed back into the fold too easily. :) More up soon.

I was very excited to see a new chapter to this wonderful story. And now that I have read it -- ugh! I really want to know what Severus has to say and am really hoping that there is some redeeming words he can say, but somehow I am with Hermione and I doubt it. I don't know what to make of this Severus. He feels very cunning and sly. And yet says all the wonderful words to make a girl melt. I want to trust him, but I'm sorry, I don't. I look forward to the meeting and hope all goes well. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne

LOL! Sorry about cutting it off there. He's definitely going to try to smooth things out, but he'll have to tell the truth in order to gain any ground with her. Hehehe :)

Thank you so much for the update!!! As much as I want to fry Severus along with Lucius and Narcissa above a open fire, I really liked the letter Hermione wrote to Severus. It was well worded, a hell of a lot more "well behaved" than I would have given in a simular situation, and I most of all hope that you will keep Hermione like this and not let her be fooled by Severus all over again. As I said in review to the previous chapter; I do hope that Severus has a plausible explanation for his behaviour, though I really, most honestly, feel that he severely overstepped any trust and love he had in his relationship with Hermione by talking about her in that manner to people he knows she loathes. Please, please don't ruin this by letting him get away with some lame excuses, I admit that more often than not it annoys the hell out of me that Severus gets away with hurting Hermione in most fics due to being "Severus" and therefore allowed to have issues and attitudes that gives him the rigth to hurt and abuse Hermione and still expect her to forgive him. Whatever his reasons for this cruelty is, it is borderline unforgivable, one more lie and he should only see the back of her when she leaves him for good!!!!

She's trying to keep a cool head because she wants hear what he has to say with an open mind. She's already made a decision that what happened is uncalled for and wants to leave him over it. What she's after now is the truth about so much more than that. Everything in their future depends on what he has to say.I'm not much on doormat Hermiones. :) I think a person can only take so much (been there, done that) before having enough.More up soon. Whoot.

*@?+#! stupid computer ate my earlier review. key points: i was so thrilled to see the update! and i'm so glad you promise more soon, because the suspense is killing me - which i suppose means you've done your job well. i'm dying to hear severus's answers to hermione's questions. assuming he gives her any, of course! :D

why doesn't she make him do an Unbreakable Vow to tell the truth for 5 minutes? that would be better than Veritaserum, and she'd know he was telling the truth - at least, the truth as he knows it. well, I'm very glad he's there at the house, and glad that Harry didn't go ballistic. I hope Draco is telling Gabrielle the truth about her 'friends'. thank you for the new chapter!!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
She'll make sure he's being honest. :)As for Gabrielle, she was hanging out with Draco over there and his friends, so she knows. She's just being a bit rebellious. I'll have more on then soon.

When Hermione tries to explain what is wrong it sounds so lame. I think she has major grievences. Something is definitely going on, whether Snape is using her or not and cares for her or not are just a couple of the questions. Damn, I need to know what he is going to say.

Oooh, I am so happy to see an update for this story. It is one of my faves. Glad to hear you will have more time to work on it now. Can't wait to hear how Severus will explain his words with Lucius, what is the truth behind it all, what he's telling Hermione or what he's telling Malfoy, or something else entirely???? Please, please, please update soon!

She has every right to be angry. Her letter was very sensible and well thought out. I doubt I could write something as level headed given the situation. And I'm glad she's considering other possibilities than just what she heard. Maybe it was all just an act for Lucius, but he's keeping something from her and if he really wants a relationship with her, he needs to tell her everything. That's really not the Slytherin way, is it?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
I'm not like that either. Hahha! I'd probably have pretended to not be Obliviated but then would have hexed everyone when they didn't expect it before taking off in a huff. hahahaHe'd better learn to embrace those good old Gryffindor qualities of his. :)
