hoorah for a quick update! i was so happy to see it updated so soon. well, still angsty, but moving forward. sad severus is so appealing without all his hard edges and defensiveness. so i'm still DYING to find out what hermione has forgotten. next time, i hope!

Oh, I could have kicked her for not realizing Ginny had given her a clue! I was tearing up throughout this whole thing. Severus' letter was so poignant. He did err, but at least he realizes what he did and has apologized for it. Thanks for leaving us with a little hope at the end there.

How sad, Hermione made a mess worthy of Ron. Hopefully she will straighten it out.

She sure did. I'm thinking she'll be on top of things soon.

As always, magnificent!Because of real life problems, I had to let some of my stories go. I have spent the last few days rereading all of this story and love it still. As always your angst hurts me physically, but it is part of your wonderful story and therefore I bear it. I hope at some point that Hermione will realize how much Severus loves her and what their past is, and on top of that what a great team they could make to bring Malfoy and Mrs. Malfoy down. Draco deserves to have a better life and he would without his parents. Looking forward to the next update as always! :-)

WooHoo!!! This was an absolutely amazing chapter! The feelings of longing and loss were almost tangible, and I love the clue.

Okay, I have to confess that this story has utterly gotten under my skin. After leaving the review, I went back and reread the letter, and even now, one of the first things I thought of this morning was to wonder if they will ever regain the closeness they had shared with the bond or if they have lost it forever. I am such a big sucker for the magical bond fic!

this was a great chapter, jampacked with all those emotions and revelations. the images that stay with me are severus's sort of desperation in the beginning and his forlornness when he realizes that his honesty has cost him her. of course, i'm hoping that is only temporary and once they sever the bond, she will see that she has real feelings for him apart from that. i am very eager to find out about the memories that hermione has repressed. i wonder what clue she left herself. can't wait to read more! :D

Such intrigue. I can't wait to see these memories of Hermione's all come flooding back to her so we can know the whole of it. Thanks for the free entertainment. :) And Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you for the update. While I can see reason for some of Severus action, at least his reasons, I still find it hard to forgive him. In my mind, his words about Hermione and what piece of shit he thought her to be to Lucius are unforgivable, no matter what setting he used them in. I can see that he is sorry Hermione heard him say the words, but not that he said them. Neither do I find his "taking revenge on Lucius late on" making things any better, nor that Severus is in any place to issue that revenge, I just can't find it in my heart to see him as any better. I find that Severus to easily and willingly sacriface to much with the excuse "for the greater good", just like Dumbledore did, and that is not a compliment. Where is the limit? How much can you betray the trust, lie to, and badmouth the ones you claim to love before it is enough? What about the future? Will betrayal like this always be to be expected and acceptable if the goal is "good enough"? Can Hermione live with the fact that though he claims to love her, she can not expect him to not do this all over again if he thinks the situation needs it? What if they have children (based on Naracissa not telling the truth about Severus never having children with a mudblood (sorry, I am still mad at him))? Will it be acceptable to betray them too? I hope Hermione find her memory, and hopefully for her finds what was hidden good enough to trust Severus again since she obviously loves him, I do want a "happy ending", but I must admit that this Severus have lost most of his "glory" in my eyes. I hope you will manage to change my mind:-)) Why didn't Hermione adress the question about what Lucius and Severus scheemed about Harry?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Breaching the Otherworld)
Well, she's not forgiven him just yet, though she does understand his reasoning. She's still hurt about it. He's definitely sorry he hurt her. I guess we see ultimate betrayal a little differently. I don't think his nasty words are enough to end the future, especially since he didn't mean them, as wounds heal in time. Of course he wouldn't hurt his kids. His vow for revenge is something he intends to stick to, for he'll keep trying to find a way to get passed the annointment Lucius did. What she's more angry about and finds unforgivable is that he's been lying to her all along about the bonding and things from even before his death. Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the story before it's done. Hermione will find out about the Harry comment. At this point, her mind was already reeling from what she found out. :)

this makes me think that sometimes, it isn't that bad to have a less brilliant mind. Less chances of creating a mental mess...

Oh, that was great! Horribly, horribly great. I hope she figures out what she left for herself. Who would have thought that that was what Severus was hiding? I hope all the secrets are out now. Well, except those that Hermione hid herself, but I hope Severus has told her all.

~grin~ :) There are some other things that will come to light, but it's nothing bad. :)

Wow, you could cut the angst with a knife! But anyway, as you hinted to one of the other reviewers, Hermione is bound to remember the clue she left for herself. But I'm sure I don't know what it might be.Oh, well, I'll just wait for the next installment! Good chapter, Southern.

Oh, at times Severus seemed so sincere and forthright. I can understand his wanting to keep his ocver with Lucius, and it's interesting that the potion was one to work against Lucius not for him. Wonder what the item is that will release the memories? I hope you have a flash back so we can see what happened. Love this story.

Well, shite! That was tough to read. They are both totally wrecked emotionally. If the truth was laid out clear and clean (which it still doesn't seem to completely be) I doubt either one of them could see it for what it was. Strong emotions have a way of distorting things..Great chapter--so much anguish which you have portrayed so viscerally.

It's going to take some doing. I'm thinking the key is what she'll be remembering (or trying to anyway). :) Thanks for reading, mate.
