All is not as it seems. The world of wizards is full of lies and half-truths.
Over twenty years ago, Severus Snape fell in love with Lily Evans, and he never stopped loving her. His every move, his every thought, is purely for her. And he has only one place, a room, hidden deep under the lake, where he can relax, not worry about whom he is spying on, what he should be saying and doing, where his loyalties lie. Somewhere he can reminisce about his childhood days there with Lily, to allow himself space to grieve.
That though, as with everything else, is about to change.

Wonderful. Rose is so disturbed. James and friends are really prats. Its too damn Severus didn't use some of those potions he made in that book on them. lol I worry about how this will end. If you will end it like JKR did.

Rebecca Redmile was right this is an excellent story well written. I have really enjoyed reading it please continue I am looking forward anxiously to next post.

awww... they finally got in some 'real' snogging :) I do like to think that Sev. has at least a little trist with Lily - after all, he was blubbering like a baby in DH, you'd hope he at least got to feel her up lol

i'm enjoying how you are developing the relationship between lily and severus, even though there's a certain inevitable sadness with this pairing. (i find myself hoping against hope for a happier outcome for them.) in any case, i like the story you are telling here.

I think you are doing a great job except for one thing. I think a Gryffindor wouldn't be blackmailed. When Rose says, 'I'll tell mom if you tell on me,' I think a Gryffindor would say "publish and be damned" (the reply I taught my own darling child as the only reaction to a blackmail attempt.)I also think Lily would have cared enough about her good name not to allow Rose to pin ANY of her misdeeds on her twin. But perhaps I am merely assuming that Lily is a lot like me.All in all, though, an excellent story. I think young Snape is really well portrayed.

I think it is hard to generalise on what the reaction of 35 adolescents would be and package it neatly into a 'Gryffindor' reaction. I think Lily may act her way, another of her house may act another (I can certainly see Neville, for example, being blackmailed when he was younger, but not Harry). I guess what I was trying to get across is that her sister knows how to manipulate her. Then again, I think I would have been sorted into either Ravenclaw or Slytherin, definitely wouldn't have made it into Gryffindor! I'm so glad you like young Snape, he was quite hard to write. Thank you so much for the review and I'm very pleased you are enjoying it :D
Looking forward to seeing when/how Lily and Sev's relationship changes and to who he will find in his secret cave when he's an adult :)

Great chapter! I love how you show the tension in both of the households. Rose is such a brat, I know eventually she will get hers (at least I hope so) but I just want it to happen soon. And I hope it comes from Lily!

Rose reminds me of a cross between Draco and the Twins. And Petunia I'm not sure if I want to feel sorry for her or want to shake the crap of her. She frustrate the hell out of me. Great job.

Grrr... Rose is more than an imp, she's a terror! You had me feeling sorry for Lily, both her sisters turming their back on her, feeling as if she doesn't fit in with her house. At least she has Severus...for now.

I find it interesting to see that Lily has a twin, and one who seems a little impish at that. I can't wait to see how she figures into the story.I felt so sad for Severus (even though he had done such a wicked thing to 'Tuney) at the end as he repeated her 'forever.' *sigh*

Am I the only one who thinks Rose is kind of a psycopath? (As in the actual clinical definition, not necessarily the mass-murder-y kind of way)
Something tells me that she's going to be really really dangerous when she grows older.
I'm thinking it's a good thing it's easy for Severus to tell them apart, or I could imagine a load of ugly things happening. O.o
