COMPLETE! Hermione knows his secrets, his destiny unfulfilled. Snape sees only desolate dark. But in the tale of love and longing, Lily remembers everything.
All is not as it seems. The world of wizards is full of lies and half-truths.
Over twenty years ago, Severus Snape fell in love with Lily Evans, and he never stopped loving her. His every move, his every thought, is purely for her. And he has only one place, a room, hidden deep under the lake, where he can relax, not worry about whom he is spying on, what he should be saying and doing, where his loyalties lie. Somewhere he can reminisce about his childhood days there with Lily, to allow himself space to grieve.
That though, as with everything else, is about to change.

I'm so happy to see Snape getting some pubescent action... hooray!! Aside from, that was amazing - just, wow. I feel so sad and empty.. poor misguided severus. Some truly emotive writing you've got going here. Don't stop. Ever.

What an awful hex!
I really feel like you are capturing Snape's character perfectly. You can see that he really is a good person who has just had a horrid set of circumstances, all marking him differently, but forcing him to become this caricature that JKR seems to prefer him as.

I couldn't have put my thoughts on Snape better myself, other than to add he seems to have the most awful bad-luck! I don't think he could have spent all those years spying without there being some good in there somewhere.Thanks so much for the review!
well, that was pretty devastating. after everything, they finally get together and it's so sweet, and then - wow. what a moment to have her see that. i can't really imagine any explanation that would make it okay, but i still look forward to hearing what he has to say. it's so sad, but i'm glad you think the next will be up soon.

That would have broken my heart. I can't think of any reason that he would have that would have mattered. And it ruined such a lovely experience.

I know - and I hated to put it at the end of all that, but it needed to be there unfortunately, it wouldn't have had the same bang at the start of the next chapter. Severus has his reasons - misguided as they may be - we'll find out about them later.Thanks so much for the reviews, they're all wonderful :D
Whoot! An update! I was going to say maybe she has to come of age too, then I read on! teeheeOh, how my heart hurts for them. I would've liked to have heard his explanation though. This is really an amazing fic, and I look forward to each update.

wow. What a way to find out he'd taken the Dark Mark. Strangely, I feel bad for both of them even though I should probably only feel bad for Lily. But prior to all that mess... I love that they shared their first time together.

I have to say, as much as Lily/Severus makes me sad, I do really like this version of their history much more than the one-sided unrequited pathetic adolescent longing Severus has in JKR's version of events. At least this Severus knows what he's lost, instead of wishing and idealizing.
So, when is Herms gonna show?

Oh wow! Thank you, that's quite a compliment. I actually loved the chapter of Snape's memories in DH, but only because it started sparking my muse, there had to be more to it than that! Two more chapters and then Herms arrives - I've gotta deal with a few plot points in between. Next chapter is just about ready to rock, just gotta get my beta to beat it into shape.Thank you again for the review, I really appreciate it.

well, i guess if you break out in burning blisters everytime you touch someone, it would put a damper on the relationship! i look forward to seeing what happens when severus turns 17. and if there's much of there relationship left at that point, since things seem to be going south pretty badly if he can't tell lily apart from rose.i'm also looking forward to hermione's arrival, but i'm really enjoying reading about lily and severus. i agree with you that dh left me wanting more rather than feeling satisfied. it left me with a lot of questions that i'm glad you for one are writing answers to!

Ooo, new chapters. I like the idea that Severus and Lily eventually did kiss and make up. The detail that he'd never managed to reattach anything that had been severed by that curse was a nice touch.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! I pulled that he'd never been able to reattch anything severed by the curse from DH - Mrs Weasley says something similair about it when George's (or is that Fred's?) ear was cut off. Thanks for the review :D

Awww, thanks! It took a fair bit of nailbitting and coffee drinking to figure out that almost smile Lily gave when she saw Snape's undies, but two pots and bouncing round the walls later, my darling beta came to my rescue LOL.
