All is not as it seems. The world of wizards is full of lies and half-truths.
Over twenty years ago, Severus Snape fell in love with Lily Evans, and he never stopped loving her. His every move, his every thought, is purely for her. And he has only one place, a room, hidden deep under the lake, where he can relax, not worry about whom he is spying on, what he should be saying and doing, where his loyalties lie. Somewhere he can reminisce about his childhood days there with Lily, to allow himself space to grieve.
That though, as with everything else, is about to change.

Wow, I really dislike James in this story. Amazingly so. And Lily was almost too good. And I really still hate Rose, but I enjoyed your set up. I can't wait to see what the future has to bring.

I don't think Lily is dead, out cold maybe, hurt most diffenetly. I think she will inpersonate Rose now and since we all know Harry live, she will raise him as her nephew. Just a thought.

Hmmm... I never expected this. So Harry's isn't Lily's afterall. And is Lily dead? Is she alive? Will her and SEv meet in the future?? So many questions.... :)Looking forward to the next installment.

I was finally able to catch up on the story. Well done and great writing so far. I find myself really hating Rose. I sort of wished that she'd be the one who'd truly died for Harry, leaving Lily alive and able to be with Snape secretly. Hahaha... Bad SW. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what happens next. ~pets poor Snape~

As this chapter flowed on I could realy feel Lily's pain. Geeze, poor girl. And James is such a git, and Rose still trying to take what Lily has, and blame everything on her. She best watch out when Karma strikes back. So is she really pregnant with James kid? Harry possibly? Hummmm. Update soon. I love this story.

Another great chapter, yet again. One question, how could they convince Lily that the baby is hers? I wondered if James would cheat with Rose! I can't wait to see what he admits to when she gives him the serum!So they could touch because his mom died, not because she became of age too! Man! This keeps getting better and better!

How could they convince her...well, I never made them go that far, but I'm assuming a memory charm of some sort - Lockhart managed them to convince other people that he'd done their heroics, not themselves, so if he could I'm sure it would be easy peasy for Rose or James, that'd only have to alter her memory after the baby was born to make Lily think it was hers. I'm glad you liked the Snape's mum dying twist - it seemed to easy to just let them be once they came of age. Thank you so much for the review :D

Poor Lily - this chapter was so sad in so many ways - I cannot wait to see what happens next. I love your descriptions that set-up the characters - it is perfect.

it's very meaty, this story -- you're putting a lot of nice, juicy flesh on the bare bones of the lily/james/severus triangle that we got from dh. if anything it's even sadder. and of course, you throw in a fourth side with the evil rose. the bad thing about reading these severus/lily stories is that one knows from the get-go that there will be no happy ending. boo hoo. and yet, i keep reading, despite my preference for happy endings. is it that whole romeo/juliet thing you mentioned, i wonder? anyway, i'm really appreciating the story you are writing. and it is interesting to see more complicated three-dimensional characterizations of the perfect potter parents. i would have liked a little more in canon to explain how those two got together, but since it doesn't exist, it leaves you more spaces to play in, doesn't it?

Yes, it does still hurt, but... I guess I'm kind of pleased at the idea that Harry's parents aren't perfect. This whole story puts Severus in a different light, where we can see him at Hermione's age and understand him from the perspective of a female peer romantically connected to him. It's different to think of James and Lily as individuals in the first war as opposed to James and Lily Potter, Who Gave Their Lives For The Boy Who Lived, the same way that it's different to think of Hermione who struggles to prove she belongs instead of Hermione Granger, One-Third Of The Golden Trio.
It's interesting. Also, there are a couple of "bare"s in there that really ought to be "bear"s. Because the first one means nekkid and the second one is the animal, but also the act of supporting a burden.

Oh! What a twist. Is Rose Harry's mother then? It's a bit of a stretch, the whole identical twin plot, but I really like it.I hope Rose is not pregnant with Harry. I would hate to see Lily turn up alive in the future because Rose is the one who died to protect her son. No matter how much Lily might have loved Severus, I feel she doesn't deserve him. I know it's harsh, but I just can't help thinking she might have done something to prevent his joining the death eaters. No matter how many Snily I've read, I haven't found one that made me like her. I guess her marrying James after all he did to Sev is what is most unforgivable in my eyes. End of rant.You put a lot of thought into your characters' feelings, it's very angsty and touching. Update soon! (Hopefully, Sev's point of view is coming next)

I was not expecting James to cheat on Lily with Rose. I have to say, I really don't like HG/SS stories where they're paired with other people, but I do enjoy him and Lily together. You've made it very believable and intriguing. I am looking forward to more of this story, mystery writer! :)

Oh, my gosh...this is amazing. My heart hurts for poor Severus all over again, just like after I finished DH. I can't wait for the next chapters! I just love Snape and Lily together.

Poor Severus and his tragic love story. I'm glad someone has brought it more to life with such a well written fic. That being said, i'm glad she slapped him, can't what to see what his motives are going to be, aside from voldie helping him lift his curse (boys will do anything for sex) and can't imagine how she is going to end up with James.*eagerly waiting for more* :)

Wow, didn't Sev know how upset she'd be about the Dark Mark?Still it was interesting that they both had to be of age for the curse to wear off. Or does it just mean Sev can never touch someone underage?Nicely done.
