Interesting start. Looks like Lily and Severus are off to a rocky start already what with the falling of branches and his need for reassurance that they can still be friends at school. He must have had some foreshadowing knowledge of how it was likely to be there.

I also like that Petunia isn't made out to be the unpleasant character she becomes in canon, although the signs of why did turn out like that as an adult are clearly visible in her jealousy of the magic and trying to make certain that if she can't have it nobody else can either.

This story looks really promising. I really enjoyed the beginning. Only, I don’t think Lily had a twin? Did she?
